Glad you made the Videos it brightens my own life!! i still work 3 evenings a week at age 64 my Husband Jim age 68. commercial Janitorial work. Years ago we had Employees worked 7 days a week. Business fell through in 2016..We just now only. Work wed-friday, -saturdays. only just enough to still make it, we live in Hud Housing Government Housing. But blessed to have a roof over our heads! Lifes always been a struggle for us 23 years as of Sept 4,2022

A lot of people don't like celebrating their birthday's, I think it must be a psychological feeling especially if family is far away. Happy Birthday Mon, you're a good husband, father I can tell. 👍
Idk. To me it's just that we never celebrated it from the very start. My mom will just handed over a thousand baht note to me and all of my brothers on our respective birthdays and that was it. That was birthday presents and celebration in one go.
I don’t like birthdays too. I think it’s the sense of grandiosity that makes me uncomfortable. I’m oriental, I did have a birthday parties here and there when I was younger. Just a few times when my mum decides to be ‘generous’. I think Asian cultural are very different in the sense that Asian parents make a conscious effort to not ‘pamper’ their kids. To western culture it may seems unloving and cold but that’s how it is lol. I’m also more introverted by nature, which makes me dislikes attention at birthday parties. Adult extroverts may like it better, perhaps? 🤔 Blessed birthday Mon!

I’m Laotian, I was born in a refugee camp in Thailand but grew up in the US. Growing up poor, we never celebrated birthdays and maybe 1 Christmas. The only reason I had a birthday at 14 was because my youngest brother was also born on the same day as me. Now as an adult, I don’t get excited or depressed whenever it comes around and really don’t think it’s that special. It feels weird to me having family and friends wish me a happy birthday but I do appreciate that they do

It's all a matter of perspective I think. When someone is faced with the possibility of death they can suddenly start to see every birthday as a blessing and don't fear getting old, rather they see each birthday as a blessing and growing older as just being part of the journey. Not necessarily needing to celebrate it in any particular way, just being grateful to be here. We can make the choice to age well, it doesn't have to be ugly 😄❤
Once when I was 7-9 yrs old, I used to be very jealous on one of my cousin who had the birthday's party and there were many people going to celebrate with many presents. I'm a muslim, my mom's told me, we have only hariraya occasion for celebrating. That point made me feeling frustrated when I was young. But when I've grown up, I realise that everyday can be the special day depending on what's in my mind. I just think that everyday is the unavoidable experience and experience has always the life's lesson. I have 2 kids like you, they have never asked for their birthday's party, they love to asked for good food that mom cooks more. For me, just have everyone I love being together and share every moment together that is the best. However, today is the 1st day that I found your channel, and I fell in love already. Seeing your husband so sad for a moment there, when he's almost always so so happy, really made me feel sad too. I'm glad in the end he was able to enjoy it. I think it's so much harder the older we get, especially when we know birthdays can't always be special, but there's this feeling almost like they need to be, because it's our special day, so we want to feel that specialness. I wonder if Mon also feels regret that he didn't grow up having his own special day. I'm glad he's able to now, though! It must feel wonderful, in the end, to have all of that love from your family. That's what makes birthdays best.

Tapi semenjak aku dah masuk usia 40 tahun ni..aku semakin tak suka orang tahu kalau hari itu adalah hari jadi aku..aku lagi suka kalau orang tak tahu dan tak menyambut harijadi aku..mungkin sebab faktor usia agaknya..

It’s so cultural. I am married to a Moroccan man and when I ask anyone in Moroccan culture when their birthday is they have to really think about it!! I agree with Mon about not expecting the presents and the day to be so important cause then the rest of your life you think you need to do something special cause it’s your birthday!! I have to much expectations on my birthday and I don’t like that....

Birthday is a complicated thing. Where I come from it is "your" day. And that can get confusing for someone who doesn´t come from the same tradition. Birthday can also wake up a lot of memories. So I totally understand Mon. Maybe he can just start to allow himself to honor the day when he was born?! And be happy with it?

When we are young we all love birthdays because we are one year older, we have a party with plenty of other children and adults. We get presents and have party food and cakes. Bugs and snakes! Mmm... nice! On my birthday (Maayan) we actually had a crazy celebration with lots of bugs. I'm not sure even how to start to explain it😂😂😂 Snakes, there are some, but not so much that you would need to worry about it. We just live with all the animals in the nature. And my western mind is getting more and more accustomed to living together ❤️
I have this weird take on birthdays, that really it’s a day to celebrate momma, for she is the one who birthed you, so really it is her birth day... I think so much in life is upside down, but everyday should be celebrated like it’s your birth day, as as you open your eyes each morning a new birth takes place... love you video!! It's all a matter of perspective I think. When someone is faced with the possibility of death they can suddenly start to see every birthday as a blessing and don't fear getting old, rather they see each birthday as a blessing and growing older as just being part of the journey. Not necessarily needing to celebrate it in any particular way, just being grateful to be here.
We can make the choice to age well, it doesn't have to be ugly 😄❤
Once when I was 7-9 yrs old, I used to be very jealous on one of my cousin who had the birthday's party and there were many people going to celebrate with many presents.
I'm a muslim, my mom's told me, we have only hariraya occasion for celebrating. That point made me feeling frustrated when I was young.
But when I've grown up, I realise that everyday can be the special day depending on what's in my mind. I just think that everyday is the unavoidable experience and experience has always the life's lesson.
I have 2 kids like you, they have never asked for their birthday's party, they love to asked for good food that mom cooks more. For me, just have everyone I love being together and share every moment together that is the best.
However, today is the 1st day that I found your channel, and I fell in love already. You both are so real and make me cant stop watching your stories. Please try to have just a moment to keep doing on youtube.

Seeing your husband so sad for a moment there, when he's almost always so so happy, really made me feel sad too. I'm glad in the end he was able to enjoy it. I think it's so much harder the older we get, especially when we know birthdays can't always be special, but there's this feeling almost like they need to be, because it's our special day, so we want to feel that specialness. I wonder if Mon also feels regret that he didn't grow up having his own special day. I'm glad he's able to now, though! It must feel wonderful, in the end, to have all of that love from your family. That's what makes birthdays best.
I think for Mon it was just tough at time growing up, childhood was not an easy time in his life. So birthday brings back some memories. Thanks so much for watching ❤️❤️❤️

When we are young we all love birthdays because we are one year older, we have a party with plenty of other children and adults. We get presents and have party food and cakes. Bugs and snakes! Mmm... nice! On my birthday (Maayan) we actually had a crazy celebration with lots of bugs. I'm not sure even how to start to explain it😂😂😂
Snakes, there are some, but not so much that you would need to worry about it.
We just live with all the animals in the nature. And my western mind is getting more and more accustomed to living together ❤️
