The haters want to only look at how many last second shots someone made. They don't want to look at how someone chokes away an entire series on their way to 6 Finals losses when greatness needs to shine. Moments like this 2010 Game 7 fourth quarter making the right play in all aspects of the game and delivering....that's the Black Mamba. Don't forget those free throws to seal the deal
@@ndjdhdhehdhd4045he also had that knee with no cartilage left. Gimpy ankle from in season sprain. That's what a legit body without Balco juice looks like after 14 long seasons. He still delivered the chip.
I will never forget this game 7! Kobe did literally everything even when his shot wasn’t falling. He was defending, rebounding and still being aggressive to get to the free throw line. 🐍♾️
I'll always remember the day when I heard the news of his passing. Where I was, what I was doing, the people around me, it was as if time stood still with everyone desperately checking their phones in disbelief. The cashiers and customers of this grocery store in Los Angeles just froze as if they just lost a family member.
This video brilliantly showcased Kobe's basketball IQ, skill, determination to win and trust in his teammates. Greatest Laker of all time in my opinion.
Kobe the monomaniacal genius! All casuals have been saying was he had a bad shooting night, low FG% game and was saved by his teammates. So little do they know that there are plenty of Kobe's ways in contributing impactful plays to win that game that stats will never measure. True greatness!
Did you read Farmar's lips after Kobe laced that drive right pull up (1:42 of this video) He was yelling in Shannon Brown's ear. "He's back!". Those youngins knew they were about to see the Black Mamba go to work and close out the chip with half the fourth to go. Credit to Boston as well. They made zero errors down that stretch. That barrage of clutch threes was insane. Kobe just refused to fold once he got his grip on the game.
That image of his celebration with the ball and his arms out is my favorite image of him. Game 7 win vs the celtics. Out of those 5 chips. This is my favorite

He used his team to get the score to win this revenge game for the Celtics. Kobe is so smart he knew his shots wasn't there but there's Ron and Pau and his team to execute his game here. Thanks Kobe for giving your all to win this back to back championship. You're indeed a Legend 👏👏👏♾️
Love this! This is how kids should learn basketball, rather than just watching stat sheets. Would rather hear the man who did it himself to break down his game mindset though. Miss you, Bean
One of the best videos out there. Loved the break down of all the little things that are hard to miss when watching in real time, or the things we don't even know what to look for. This was so incredibly smart and a great way to explain what we are seeing. Thanks!
Kobe said this was the sweetest championship especially against the Celtics. Lakers showed alot of heart and guts in this series. This wasn't Kobe's best scoring game but those rebounds, the passing to his teammates, and the ability to make timely baskets like the last jumper he made was amazing. This was one of the best series ever! Kobe is one of the best players to ever play basketball 🏀. Rest in peace (mamba)Kobe bean Bryan 🙏.
CONTEXT is important. Kobe played with TWO BROKEN FINGERS in his shooting hand the entire season, a torn ligament/tendon in his KNEE that was so bad he had to get his knee DRAINED of subcutaneous fluid BEFORE EVERY SINGLE QUARTER of game 7, and other minor injuries. He had knee surgery a few weeks after this game (unlike LeBronze and his fake foot injury after getting swept by Jokic and Murray last year). NOT ONCE did he ever use injuries as an excuse for a substandard shooting night (and what he lacked in shooting in this game, he compensated with amazing defense, rebounding and passing). Despite all of that, in game 7, in a LOW SCORING DEFENSIVE SLUGFEST in which virtually NOBODY shot well percentage-wise, Kobe SET AN NBA FINALS RECORD for MOST REBOUNDS IN A SINGLE FINALS GAME by an NBA GUARD (15). And this was a game DEFINED by CONTESTED REBOUNDS. Kobe is my GOAT. Objectively, i'll say MJ is King, but Kobe is, at the LOWEST, #2 all time imo. LeBronze is nowhere NEAR MJ or Kobe, two players with more SKILL in their pinkie than LeTravel has in his entire BODY. Sorry, not sorry. RIP Kobe, there will never be another player like you. Magical player and a basketball god. P.S. Anybody (I'm looking at you Bill Simmons), who thinks Pau deserved FMVP over Kobe when he himself shot 5-15 in game 7, DESPITE not drawing anywhere near the gravity of Kobe's offense, should be burned at the stake. The Kobe HATE is absurd (I'm looking at you ESPN and Bleacher Report).
Everyone was struggling offensively in this series and especially this game. It was a defensive clinic on both sides and they knew each other so well. Nobody scored easily.
I was in downtown LA at the Sheraton Hotel bar a few blocks from Staples for this game. The tension in the air was through the roof. Every loose ball win was celebrated like a game winner. The City shook when the clock hit zero with Kobe chasing down the ball #1 in the air.

Great analysis of a clutch closer in one of the most intense Finals Game 7's ever. It doesn't get bigger than Boston Lakers in professional sports. This kind of relentless clutchness doesn't show up in stats. However, it means everything to being great.

This was a chess match, scoring wasnt the main focus here since everyone literally had an off night, both teams understand that making a field goal wasnt the focal point to win the game, it was defense, securing rebounds and being agressive to get free throws, the best option was to get free throws, in a close game hill-hill battle between two great teams it all boils down to understanding the situation, kobe did all that in the foruth quarter he was agressive, he secured rebounds and made great decision on the offensive and defensive end, in a game where everyone was struggling to score kobe still found a way to be effective. Period, he wasnt the greatest of all time but he always gave his heart, mind and soul to the game, thats why we love kobe, the mamba
Only players that have played the game at the NBA level, and have played against Kobe, will truly understand Kobe's greatness. Only they will understand why Kobe is right after MJ. These clowns and the media always try to discredit his greatness. Not me. Kobe will always be my GOAT.
I could care less about the shooting percentage the FGAs and all that i look at this game as the pinnacle of “ Finding a way to win” and Kobe did just that 🫡
If Artest and GASOL could help him in game 5 it would've been over in 6 in advantage of Lakers so Artest and Gasol not only saved Kobe but saved themselves too in that game 7. Prior to that hard fought game 7 kobe averaged 30-8-4 on %43 shooting against a great defensive side (scores were like 90-86) That's pretty pretty good tho.
