- An email chain obtained by CBS News California Investigates reveals the governor's chief of staff did not want to negotiate with the initiative coalition unless they agreed to postpone their ballot measure until 2026.

And this is exactly why I did not sign the petition for those people sitting outside of Walmart. I told him that signing that petition was going to result in nothing. I told them that that law does need to be changed, but ultimately we should be signing the petition to get rid of the real problem which is governor Newsom! Laughed at me because I said. Now seeing this video makes me feel not good but justified why I did not sign that petition. The problem is in the governors office! Prop 47 was a lie and it makes the issue of crime much worse and degrades public safety significantly
