Man you made unplugging those middle climate control wires look easy. There was a very small tab on the connection that took me almost 10 minutes to remove. I finally got it with a small flathead. I was afraid to pull on the wires so I was trying to hold the trim piece at the same time which made it harder.
I'm not convinced that metal tab on the door handles is meant to be bent out of the way. I mangled the tab on the first door. But after that I used a trim tool (kit at harbor freight for a few bucks) in the slot to create the first gap, as in the video. Then I used a trim tool on top and bottom of the door trim and worked my way toward the front of the car, wedging slightly until the next clip gave, then moved forward again. It finally popped off and the metal tab was never disturbed - there is enough give in the metal tab to allow the trim piece to move away from the door panel - I think its made from spring steel. It wouldn't hurt to heat the trim piece slightly to keep it front snapping. I didn't though and I had no issue. Hope this helps.
Been looking how to replace these for time, I’ve got red dash colours on the bottom across the dash, and blue on the doors, previous owner said he wanted do a m sport conversion but didn’t get finished. Now from this video I finally know how to get the parts off I wanted to change, I’m goin take them to a local wrap company I know of though to get it done, thanks for the vid.
Really awesome, painfully patient and tedious work lol. I couldn't do this on my own without any prior experience. I'd rather pay, but good for the DIY wrappers to know. Look good!
Update - After the hefty price quotes, I decided to give this a try myself. I did a ton of research on the vinyl types and decided on the 3M 1080 CF12. So far, I've done the air vent and main top trim. Love the look so far! Will work on the rest tomorrow. I couldn't have done it without this video. Thanks again!
This is exactly what I've been looking for. Wish I'd found this video six weeks ago before I was jacking around on the internet trying to find preformed pieces.
Would be nice if you could go through and thoroughly explain the complex things such as the door trim clip removal. You never did a close up as you said you would.
There are so many videos on installing and applying carbon fiber wraps but not removing it. Can you make a video on removing the carbon fiber wraps. Thanks!!
It's weird.... My 2012 F30 has the all silver trim on the dash, but there is no separate bottom trim that goes across. It's all one piece .I wonder if it would make it more difficult to carbon fiber the thin bottom trim that goes across and above the glove compartment?
Awesome job guys!!! I have couple questions actually. What dimensions of wrap paper I need for this job? What is your recommendation, to take of part out and wrap them out, or wrap interior right away? 🤔 (Just scared to brake something though 🤣)
Any idea what to do if the trim.. trim is coming off? on the long center console piece, the aluminum hex trim is not attached by the left vent and doesn't clip if I push it. Can I just put glue under the hex?
I think I’m the only one who loves wood trim, especially with the cream guts, I have the same spec f30 as my daily/commuter. I just wish I could get the fine swirls/scratches out.
Awesome video, Brian, thank you! Looking back in the job, would it have been much easier to wrap the vent trim if the vents were removed? I’m planning to do this and have no experience.
I just spent about an hour trying to get the door trim off my f32 using a trim tool and going all the combinations of twisting and pulling. can you give a more detailed description of the motion required to get it off? thanks
Nope I was not able to get anything to give at all.... I have the same type of trim tool and I tried the process of inserting it into the hole at the bottom all the way in, then pulling the handle towards me, and/or twisting and nothing unclipped. the trim moved maybe 4 mm and snapped back into place once I removed the tool. am I not pulling the tool handle back hard enough?
thanks, good to get another shot of it. Based on that video I think my problem is I am expecting my trim tool to trigger a metal release clip after inserting into the hole and pulling gently. should I just insert and pull as hard as I need to without worrying about the metal release clip until I get a few of the plastic ones out?
Good video, just did all my interior trim from that ugly wood to carbon fiber. One thing, the door handle trim pieces easily break. Should have more info on how to properly remove those, lot of plastic clips broke, and one even broken into two.
Great videos man. I've been thinking of doing this since the m-performance carbon fiber trim is pretty expensive. Does the wrap you are using have the texture weave feel to it?
Hi , please can you make a video about how to carbon fiber the driving Gear on F30. I did buy a F30 yesterday and I need help with it, what is the best way to do it?
if i buy 1ft x5 ft two times. will it fit on it? because i live in belgium, if i buy that size you recommend the 3x5 ft then somehow the cargo charges run up to 85 dollars...
I'm thinking of doing this and the side view mirror cap. What size of vinyl do you recommend from the link you provided in the description. Also, would you happen to know if this will void any warranty?
Hi ther, any idea oon how to remove the dash trim in an X6 F15 Please? I get rattling noise frm eithrr side of the wheel from the trim area and need too take of the trim to locate it. Help is much appreciated. Thanks
Hi! I've got a bit of a different question here- I've got a 2014 428i, and I was trying to detach the faceplate to the automatic transmission gear lever...and the Parking button broke. What do I need to replace? And why was the faceplate impossible to get off? Also, I'm having a lot of trouble getting those door trim pieces off. Any advice?
I had a 10' by 5' piece and it was enough to do my roof and all of my interior. I'd say get a 3' by 5' piece and you should be good, with vinyl to spare. It's always better to have more than you need..
I haven't done it in a while but start by removing the trim around the idrive controller that I wrapped. Then you'll start to see more screws. I think when I did it, I removed the entire center console, but it's been a while
+Kies Motorsports Do you have any pictures? I couldn't find anything on the internet. I'm afraid of damaging something but I wont to check it as it's making some noise when the car goes over bumpy roads.
Hey, so on your note, you noticed my screen. It's actually a prototype for a potential future product. It's a plug and play direct replacement for the small 6" screen. Do you like the look of it?
Kies Motorsports oh wow broo! It looks amazing, definitely better then the basic display, I'll be on the lookout for it man, can't wait lol! Again amazing job on this video bro!! Thumbs up!! 👍🏼
Hey Brian, I've been a subscriber now for a while and watched pretty much all your videos (which has helped me immensely) but I wanted to ask an honest question. I'm a very meticulous person (some might say a perfectionist) and thinking of getting my interior carbon vinyl wrapped exactly the same as this. Will I notice that it has been wrapped every time I look at it? I'm paying a professional, but I'm wondering if I should just buy an interior kit off eBay and install myself. Anyways, you help would be greatly appreciated. PS, my Estoril Blue 2013 F30 335i is almost identical looking to yours ;-)
Hey, thanks for checking us out! Well, it's hard to say for sure, based on your comment. If you get good film and a good wrap, it looks amazing. If you're going to be bugged by small defects, it's better to have someone else wrap it for you, because otherwise, you'll always know where you messed up (mine had a few flaws, but I'm not telling you where they were, lol)
Great videos as always Bryan. This is gonna be my next project on my new F10. BTW, thanks for your help guide me to the correct course of action on the F13's injector problem. PS. I wished we could have met at Bimmerfest; next year perhaps. Stay awesome bro.
Hi, most trim comes off the same. We have a 5 series video that shows how to remove some of the dash trim, but your door panels will be a little different
Steveindajeep funny thing is... it’s real wood. I know because I’ve stripped Bmw wood trim down to the wood with aircraft stripper then had it recleared again.
Thanks for the assistance....I just finished installing my dash, shifter surround, and multimedia knob panel. Looks great and car is much faster
lol
Just followed this video to do the same to my F30 2017 330i and I’m super happy! Thanks for making these!!
Heeeey!! Been waiting for this video for a while. Can't find a single video on this DIY. Thanks mate!
Great, glad it helped! Are you doing yours?
Kies Motorsports I ordered mine 5d gloss off of eBay. Excited about how its turns out
Awesome! Post a video when you're done!
hey man, I'm wondering if you've done this yet, i wanna see how it turned out so i can get started on this too
Man you made unplugging those middle climate control wires look easy. There was a very small tab on the connection that took me almost 10 minutes to remove. I finally got it with a small flathead. I was afraid to pull on the wires so I was trying to hold the trim piece at the same time which made it harder.
Im having that same problem. I can't get it disconnected to save my life
Thank you very much. Just did mine after watching you and it was a lot easier than i thought.

Best Video for f30 car wrapping, search so Long Time 😍
Thanks for the video. I swapped my trim out and this was a lifesaver.
Awesome, great to hear!
Do you think a 5 foot by 1 foot sheet will be enough to cover all of these pieces?
Easier to work with the dash trim pieces if you pry out the air vents.
anyone know what size sheet i should get, i have an f30 335 m sport
i remember when u first put your diffuser wrap, now your car looks sick
Thanks for sticking with us!
I just brought all my interior direct from Germany. All real carbon fibre bits looks so awesome.
Awesome video. Perfect explanation on how to remove and re-install everything. Thanks a lot !
Thanks!
Can i use hair dryer instead of a heat gun? what is going to be the difference?
Really awesome, painfully patient and tedious work lol. I couldn't do this on my own without any prior experience. I'd rather pay, but good for the DIY wrappers to know. Look good!
Lol, thanks David

Awesome, glad to hear! How much were you quoted?
Kies Motorsports $400 by one place, $450 by another.
Woah!
How’s the vinyl holding up? My Silver M Sport trim is wearing down. Lol
This is exactly what I've been looking for. Wish I'd found this video six weeks ago before I was jacking around on the internet trying to find preformed pieces.

I wrapped my f31 and it looks so much better that the original silver

You should put some sport seats and a m sport steering wheel, it will look nice
Hey this isn't working for me. My f30 is a 2012 one & the trim I bought is from 2016. Seems like the LCI door trims won't fit on pre-lci models
Hmm, that's odd they would change it..
What about passenger side vent how do you get that off??
really awesome guide and very good to see how its done :) thanks
Thanks!
Do I need to take out the trims if the trim stickers are pre cut??
Awesome video, Brian, thank you! Looking back in the job, would it have been much easier to wrap the vent trim if the vents were removed? I’m planning to do this and have no experience.
I wonder what the gauge does 🤔🤔
my left side vend blade are shattered, what gage is that?
I just spent about an hour trying to get the door trim off my f32 using a trim tool and going all the combinations of twisting and pulling. can you give a more detailed description of the motion required to get it off? thanks
We're you able to release any of the clips? There are 4 main clips and a bunch of very small ones
+Mike Dai it is really tight. Try this video at 14:30 - ruclips.net/video/YC2nsPitSy0/видео.html

You have to be careful, the bottom has a large clip.. shoot me an email to info@kiesmotorsports.com. I'll send you a guide
Hey Ryan, great video! Could you do the same video for a G20? Would love to see that!
Hi, yes it does!
what dimensions vinyl did you buy? thanks!
Awesome, you guys nailed it as always :)
Hi , please can you make a video about how to carbon fiber the driving Gear on F30. I did buy a F30 yesterday and I need help with it, what is the best way to do it?
Hi, I'll see what I can do..
if i buy 1ft x5 ft two times. will it fit on it? because i live in belgium, if i buy that size you recommend the 3x5 ft then somehow the cargo charges run up to 85 dollars...
It should, but you may want to ask the company what the pattern will look like, so it's not sideways
A closer wiew next time if is possible thanks for sharing
How to remove cupholder?
What do you think about wrapping the b pillars with vinyl? Mine faded over time. Is it easy to remove them?
Hmm, I haven't tried it, but if you do, let me know how it looks!
What do you recommend for fading b pillars? Get them replaced or use restoration chemical? Thanks
Hi, have you considered wrapping them?
That sounds like a good idea, maybe i will do black. Where can i buy quality wrap?
I'll send you a link..
Bryan what was the gauge you were running in your vent?
I'm thinking of doing this and the side view mirror cap. What size of vinyl do you recommend from the link you provided in the description. Also, would you happen to know if this will void any warranty?
If I wanted a textured feeling, like the one the M3 has. Which would you recommend ? Or is that one a textured one?
Hi, this is a textured one. It looks good :)
For the front unit with the heater vent , are the vents detachable if i want to replace the whole front trim?
Yea, they are a separate piece I believe
Hi ther, any idea oon how to remove the dash trim in an X6 F15 Please?
I get rattling noise frm eithrr side of the wheel from the trim area and need too take of the trim to locate it.
Help is much appreciated. Thanks
I bought the gloss carbon from the same vendor but damn after seeing this I'm reordering this matte vinyl and might do my mirrors with the gloss.
Great Video man.Does this drop the value of your car?
No, and it's fully reversible
Can you separate the silver trim from the rest of the trim on the main dashboard piece?
I️ don’t believe so
Can we do it without removing the parts?
can you tell me the exact lenght in meters for wrapping whole interior trims?
Do you still need that?
You should clear coat the trim wrap or glossify it.would look a lot better.
Yea, I'll have to do a test on it. Have you done yours?
How much pressure do you use when taking out the door trim, I don't want to break the trim when I try to take it out.?
Go easy and start to pop the clips and work slow
Any advice?
Hi, I personally haven't tried to take it off, but maybe we can do that as a future video
That would be great!
Can you do this with a hair dryer? Instead of a heat gun?
Sure, that should work
Kies Motorsports thanks for the response. I bought a heat gun already didn't cost much better to do it the right way
If you had to do this again will you still use the 3D vinyl or will you use another type Like 4, 5,6 or ...?
did you ever make a video on the vent gauge?
We made a demo one, but never an install
Which size to you get to fill up the car ?
I had a 10' by 5' piece and it was enough to do my roof and all of my interior. I'd say get a 3' by 5' piece and you should be good, with vinyl to spare. It's always better to have more than you need..
what size did you buy for the whole trim, im also going to do the whole door handles and dash and console
Mine was 5' by 10', but I did the roof, too
How do you remove the grab handles. I bought a sunhlass for tgat spot but am having dificulty with getting off the grab handle
What car is it?
Kies Motorsports
Bmw f30 3 series sport 2013 model
I believe there are just two torx bolts that hold it in
Damien O Malley you’ve probably solved this by now but look up the sunglasses holder install video by @thicf30...it is very helpful!
Thanks a lot. I need more help. How do I remove cupholder?
In an F30?
Yes
I haven't done it in a while but start by removing the trim around the idrive controller that I wrapped. Then you'll start to see more screws. I think when I did it, I removed the entire center console, but it's been a while
+Kies Motorsports Do you have any pictures? I couldn't find anything on the internet. I'm afraid of damaging something but I wont to check it as it's making some noise when the car goes over bumpy roads.
Hey. Do I need to disconnect the battery when wrapping the dash board trim?
My advice is if you ever need to disconnect anything, it's always the best idea to
Don't forget about back passenger handles ;-) subbed you man! Will try to do this ones I have got a kit!
Lol, I did the other three before the video :)
Can I use scissors to cut?
nice but ive found that wrapping in summer is best
hey Brian did you upgrade your idrive to bigger display?
All I can say is that we do some product testing on my car :) stay tuned for future videos!
wut
What size wrap was used? (thickness) EDIT - I see the link now, thank you for the video!
Did you disconnect the battery before removing the trim? Anyways good video!
Hi, no, not for this. When I do rear cameras or other electrical work, I always do
your a amazing guy top job very nice job
Where did you get that puma zip up from?
Puma :) there is an outlet by my house
My center vents don't disconnect that easy, well at all
On certain models they used liquid cement to hold in the trim ! There’s a recall on it too
Thank you so much
I can't take it off the emergency button there and disconnect that one, should I try more harder???? Plzzzzz tell me TT
Try pushing harder, there is a clip on the top and bottom..
Kies Motorsports i could remove the button but about the disconnect still can't, it's there any clip to do it or just pull out more harder?
I couldn't see the clip on the top, I wish I can post the pic and show me. TT
Email me.. info@kiesmotorsports.com
Kies Motorsports oh wait a minute, I found it lolol thx a lot ! You are super nice and is great video!
İ think original looks better but nice video
Good Job
Awesome man!!! Heyy by the way i just noticed the nbt display!!! Is there a video on that coming up????? Haha that's something i need broo!!!
Thumbs up!! 👍🏼

PS. I wished we could have met at Bimmerfest; next year perhaps. Stay awesome bro.
Is this the same for f10 528i?
Hi, most trim comes off the same. We have a 5 series video that shows how to remove some of the dash trim, but your door panels will be a little different
what kind of wheels do you have
Hi, they are VMR
veri nice video, thanks.
Thanks!
Thanks for the video. Just wrapped mind in 3d carbon fibre red. Looks amazing.
is your car still under factory warranty?
Hi Will, no it's not. Most of what I do though can be done under warranty because of the Magnuson Moss Act, and be protected from warranty voiding
Heat gun temp?
I would do your lowest setting. I bought mine a while ago and it just has two levels, I use level 1
Can’t get the damn door trim off wish you covered that better
Dann2013 it was difficult for me too. It took me a while to get mine off.
How do you remove the vents from the trim pieces?
+MaximumGAME hi, there are small plastic clips that hold it in place
nice mod. im doin mine in alcantara :D
Nice!
you should definitely invest in a M-sport Steering wheel
I agree!
I don't have carbon fiber wrap
There's a link in the description for you :)
If I had your color of interior I would actually replace carbon trim with wood lol
I made it with woodprix handbooks !
cool vid. i fkn hate the fake wood they put in these cars
Steveindajeep funny thing is... it’s real wood.
I know because I’ve stripped Bmw wood trim down to the wood with aircraft stripper then had it recleared again.
Use soap water and you wont have any creases
u r ☝👍👍
Kinda disappointed you didn’t really cover the door trim well, waste of time and money buying the wrap
