I've had one of these (except it's an Avanti Edelstahl Rost Frei) single cup coffee makers that I take with me on bike camping trips for 5 years and I thought it was time I found out where to fill the water up to. I've always overfilled it I see now. I decided 4 .99 years ago I should've got the 2-cup model the camping shop guy was also selling cause 1 tiny cup of coffee is never enough. Thanks for the lesson, I'm going to fire it up and make a cup now. Cheers.
From personal experience never cover the valve with water. It may explode.
