Coco blew it AGAIN. Twenty-one double faults vs two for Sabalenka. Nine double faults in the second set vs one for Sabalenka. Another nine double faults in the third set vs zero for Sabalenka. Leading 4 -2 in the second set, she loses the next seven games. Serving at 4 - 3 in the second set to go up 5 - 3, the double faults continue. At the end of the second set, you knew the outcome of this match, so I did NOT see the third set, I went back to bed. Needless to say, I watched the two sets with the sound turned OFF...Sabalenka was playing.
I watched the full match on T2, but the highlights on here couldn't show Coco's 21 double faults. That really hurt her. We could see during the full match that Sablenka's shoulders were bothering her, but she still pulled out a victory! Congrats Sablenka!

Sabalenka's defense was incredible considering her whole game is power and offense and Gauff's game was incredible as she turned on the aggression and powwr and relied a bit less on her speed than usual. Itsrare u see Sabalenka on her back foot but she was plenty on that back foot here. A fantastic mental win for Sabalenka, she kept tough and played every point as it happened and did t try to overdo it or go beyond herself. A match worthy of a final for sure!
I have always say. sabalenka loses her matches for relentless unforced errors giving opponents too many free points, as soon as the unforced errors come down the highest pressure is on the opponent and weak areas start to show on the opponent
Huh what happened? Coco Puff was up a huge set and a break in the 2nd set so it was a slam dunk. I take a coffee break come back and she loses? When you're in the lead you can't give it up against a hard hitter like Saba. You have to seal the deal.
Coco you played amazing. A few double faults got in the way but with the recent changes you’ve made that led you to win the China Open and then two days later to start the journey in Wuhan and reach he semi-finals. Ugh….it makes me tired just saying it. You have the game that could have caused the upset but Sabalenka is a fighter like you are and you two gave us what could have been a finals match game. Well done to the both of you. Sabalenka I expect to see you on Sunday lifting that trophy for the third time. Ladies get some rest and leave the rest on the court.

Sabalenka is a cheater with the LOOOOOOOONG screaming all the way until the opponent hits the ball. It is obvious she doesn't HAVE to scream so long, because if the ball goes out or into the net she stops the scream immediately. She only continues the scream if the opponent is going to hit the ball.

Well Coco did great but Saba found focus again. I noticed in prior matches Saba slacks off in the first set before rebounding.
