So glad Ohtani is finally playing for a contender. His amazing talent was wasted by the Angels. Dodgers vs. Yankees will be an amazing World Series matchup. I hope it happens. 🤞
@pres_sotto7868 Yes. The Angels is a terrible and arrogant organization. The owners actually thought that Ohtani would stay with them even though everyone told them that Ohtani was leaving for a better club. What a bunch of buffoons the Angels are. They should have traded him when they had the chance. But their arrogance is keeping them in last place again.

Historically, he usually slows down pretty good by September. So it’s quite refreshing to see such an incredible uptick in his performance this time around.
And you have to remember he was in Anaheim , so by this time of year they were always out of the playoff hunt. And also having help and not having the whole franchise on his shoulders.@@rsuriyop

WOWWW what a game Shohei and Mookie, Shohei re-writing history every game he plays between now and the last remaining games to close out the season. UNANIMOUS MVP 55/60
People will ask "Why didn't they walk Ohtani?" The obvious answer might be because he has Betts, Freeman, and Hernandez batting after but another obvious one is that Ohtani is a threat to steal 2 bases. If any one of those 3 after Ohtani singles, flies out, or double he'll be the tying run. The chances of Ohtani stealing a base and having 1 of the next 3 batters after him getting at least a single is very high. So you just have to pick your poison. If Ohtani was on the Angels they would've definitely walked him.
Yep he has something like 30 consecutive steals without being caught. A strange as it sounds, risking him hitting a home run is the safe play, at least then you do have a chance of getting him out. The only time the walk makes any sense now is on two outs.
Bonds is still the best hitter of all time. It's not even close, but the fact that Shohei is a pitcher certainly makes him incredibly unique in baseball history. Not to mention the steals.
I would be too when the pitching is weak compared to the 90's and another pitch right over the plate.Just the Yankee lineup alone would strike this clown out every time let alone Mariano Rivera.
Having Shohei & Mookie at the top the order feels unfair. Ohtani is basically a real life Roy Hobbs & Mookie is a first ballot HOF game who also may be the best overall athlete to play baseball since Bo & Deion…and Mookie is a much better baseball player than either of ‘em. 🙂
I think Ohtani adding Stealing bases to his bag just gave Dodgers another card to play in games. Even walking him means he has a chance to steal bases while not even mentioning the fact that Betts, Freeman, and Hernandez will be batting after him. Such as simple thing if you say it out loud but its gotta be a headache if you are playing against them.
it's an even bigger headache if your pitching sucks (like the Rockies pitching sucks). And the pitchers are handicapped in thin air anyways because the ball doesn't bite as hard when they spin it. So less movement on the ball. So the Rockies just need to hope that the batter hits it hard straight at someone. As you say, headache.
When you’re a threat to steal the other team can’t just walk you. Judge (who also has pretty good wheels) kept on getting pitched around for most of this month until he started swiping bases. He’s getting pitches to hit again now.
Something is cooking like cooking the books could you see this clown hitting against the Yankee lineup in the 90's then you have Mariano Rivera.Baseball like the NFL is weak today.
In the previous game, Shohei Ohtani recorded a home run and a stolen base in the same game for the 14th time this season, breaking the MLB record, which he had tied with the greatest leadoff man in MLB history, Rickey Henderson, for the most such games in a season for the first time in 38 years. In today’s game, he extended that record even further with his 15th such game this season. He has also surpassed Ichiro’s single-season runs scored and is closing in on his stolen base total. Not only that, he’s just two home runs shy of Aaron Judge’s total... This man has no ceiling to his potential! And let’s not forget, this same man is expected to achieve 20 wins, 200 strikeouts, and the highest strikeout rate next season-all while currently rehabbing from elbow surgery as a starting pitcher, which he underwent around this time last year!!!
