True. It's really just a few registry settings. But, also, it's good to get updates, from time to time, so Salad needs to consider "maintenance windows." Maybe have a sort of "cluster," like 3-rigs, similar to a LInux ProxMox or Windows Hyper-V cluster, with 3 nodes, then 1 node can be taking updates, while the other 2 nodes are running workloads; then roll to the 2nd node; then the 3rd node - so you update at least 1 node, while the other two are running workloads. So, this is where it would be good to have a workload metric that allows a brief re-balancing of workloads for a "maintenance window." I'm interested in using dedicated rigs, and what cost you can make. Thanks to Brandon for always giving decent quality tips!
After watching this video I have Un Installed Salad on my main Work/Gaming system so that it doesn't interfere with my status. I will continue to run it on the 4 dedicated Salad systems only. Hopefully this will increase my status. Thanks for the helpful information.
protip if you do want to run stuff on your main PC and it has an IGPU Direct via windows those applications to use the IGPU instead - will mean no interruption to salad running on the GPU running salad
I have 32gb ram and a 3070 gpu on my gaming rig. Ive been playing modded minecraft the last 2 weeks that uses about 7gb ram and I Have still made 1.35usd per day, playing while salad is running. Salad uses 16gb right now and as long as I dont use more than 10gb ram with Chrome and minecraft going it keeps on running. So as long as I keep geting jobs that only utilizes the ram it will keep going even if I play games that dont drain alot of gpu or ram.
I've been noticing that the estimates are WAY off from the actual payouts lately. The last 2 days mine shows like 3.51-8.11 estimated and I got 51 cents payout.
Old school or Rs3? I never played old school, but I did play RS3. I liked being able to play on the phone as well. My iMac is my daily driver ( aka main machine ), so I’ve never had this issue.
Do you know if some desktops dont work with salad? Got everything running on several pc except lenovo legion t5 which keeps saying my app is degraded and it couldnt load workload…
Could we put Salad on the D: drive so salad doesn't turn off? If not, what about a second hard drive ? Can't imagine they want total resources but PC's are so cheap maybe they do not care.
I am running a 128 gb rig with a ryzen 5950x and an rtx 4060 16gb. Averaging about $1/day, but I have had frequent power and Internet outages with Xfinity. I also tried the same setup with an rtx a4000 16gb, and it couldn't get nearly as many jobs. My other ryzen 5950x rig is mining to nicehash with an 8gb rtx 3060 ti, and and rtx 3060 12gb. Not sure what to do now. I have a dormant rtx A4000, a ryzen 5950x rig with the rtx 4060 ti 16 gb running salad. Should I switch it to nicehash? Or, should I switch my nicehash rig to salad....Plus, I am not sure what to do with the rtx A4000.
I must be the outlier. Salad is on my main rig, it's the only rig I have on salad. It's star chef and has no drama getting jobs currently. I can comfortably watch youtube and do pretty much anything without triggering the degrading warning and kicking the rig off a job. As I write this comment and watch other videos I'm currently on a $19/day job the last few days and my GPU is at 100% utilization. As long as I'm not gaming then Salad is happily grabbing workloads and chopping away. However, I believe Salad employs a blacklist of game processes as well as monitoring GPU usage. For example, I can still game on lesser known games even if my rig has a job going but load up a popular game and it triggers the warning and kicks you off the job. If the job is only using a few GB of my GPU's VRAM and literally nothing else on the GPU, then I can get away with gaming on lesser known titles. If my GPU is being 100% utilized then I leave it be, I won't game but can still comfortably do many other things at the same time without triggering any warning or losing the job. For context, this is on a rig with a 5950x, 64GB, RTX 4090 so results will definitely be different with other configurations. Happy Chopping! 😄
and its optimistic. Sometime you will get " the 4.11$ " job...will stend for a few hours and than drop/end it. Basically consistent 1,30$ jobs are much better than randoms 4.11$ jobs. Talking on experience.
Security through obscurity
this!!!!!!
Good salad info!
So glad you were far enough away from The hurricanes floods and damage.
FYI, salad customer can only order threads, not cores. They also just upped Ram to 60 gb so hosts can now utilize 96 or 128 gb ram on their rigs 👍🏻
That's kind of dumb of them not to let you use your computer for more demand applications.
Nice spot Brandon. Exactly how I like it. Smack in the middle of the woods. Looks very similar to my area. I’m about 6 miles from any city.
I use Salad on my home PC and I have no problems.
I have an rtx 4090 and everything works
you have a mustang bro!!!!!! the rattle snake!!
you can turn of your windows update with window tweaks

Am I okay if I just browse a little? At least I haven't received a degredation warning

4060 to saying I'm get $4 jobs but not see the pay. Turning it off payouts went up. Also have 3060 rigs. Ever here of cards killing profits?
Clear bro thanks…..❤❤❤❤❤

Wow, what the heck?

Time to daily drive a laptop.

Good morning brother could you do some videos on other AI GPU platforms when you have time or just do a list that we all can look into
My week has been terrible. Just god awful.

I have disabled GPU acceleration on the browser. At lest i can "surf the web" and watch a couple of videos while chopping takes place

I feel like you're bullshitting. I've never seen a $19/day job on the "show off your earnings" section of discord
Sadly 4070 super making $1.30 /day, 😢

I'm making the same with 3060 12gb
Just got another job for $1.16 with 4070 super, even worse but gpu seems not running for the job
