I don't pay for power. Should I use salad and keep the box checked crypto mining in the salad settings. I still don't know exactly what that does. Can you explain the crypto mining setting in salad please 😅
When the Crypto mining is enabled in Salad....When your rig doesn't have an AI workload....they will use your rig to mine some Crypto currency. But they dont put what kind of Crypto they are mining. Then once your rig will have an AI workload....the crypto mining will stop and then will prioritize that AI workload. Hope that helps. But I tried their crypto mining option....and I think you earn just a little more in Salad compared to Unmineable or Nicehash. I havent tried the HiveOS though.
The thing with salad is to have various gpus. I guess all salad customers don't need a 3090, some need a 4090 some a 3060 some a 4070 ... variety seems to be the key here.
It's all competition based activity, and the thing is, if Salad can not increase the amount of available jobs and their prices, and the more the miners are jumping into Salad, the lower the profits gained from Salad will fall. Same thing everywhere else too, supply and demand, also crypto mining exactly same thing, the profitability varies according supply and demand for every blockchain project. It's quite obvious that the supply of miners hardware is getting too big compared to the demand the Salad brings on the table.
Those frames are great. I put them on rack mount shelves. I’ve made about $250 in the past 30days. Only 3 rigs. There is an abundance of 3090’s on the network. They are all competing with each other. So even your 3090’s are competing with each other on the same account. This goes for all cards just using the example of what you have.
i found, that running 32gb RAM, actually got me higher pay containers, Than i did when running 64gb RAM..... I just found that when running 64gb RAM, i was waiting alot longer, between work loads... I guess there are probs more people paying the "middle rate", for mid-range systems... Than the higher end system rates..... Because obviously, The more processing power required to do a job.. the cost is more..... So to me, it feels like most people are paying the "mid tier" range.... for mid-range systems to do their rendering tasks.. So that they are paying less for the job to be done.... But just havign to wait a little longer for it to be completed... But yep.. When i went from 64gb to 32gb system RAM.. I got more of the higher paying containers, On a more regular basis....
That last update was interesting. It tells you if there's an active job or not. Earnings aren't what they were earlier this year, but my 1050ti has actually started earning, now. It peaks at four cents an hour, and it sometimes out performs my 4070 in short bursts. Before the update, it wasn't even making a cent per day.
Got 5 machines total. All have at least 64gb ram, hexacore Ryzen processors or better, and Adequate storage. 4 of the units have 4060 16gb, and one has a 4070 12gb. The only one that has a consistent workload currently is still on Salad version 1.6.2. All the others have been upgraded to 1.6.4. Currently making less than. $2.50 a day all in. The workloads are just not there. Best day I ever had on the platform is about 8 bucks. It is very aggravating. All machines and internet have UPS's so full power redundancy. As soon as a viable competitor comes along that is simple to use and setup, am jumping out. Payouts are getting lower and lower, and equipment doesn't rent for most all of the day.
Runing 5 3090's 4 with 64gb memory 1 32gb memory 3 have long term container jobs, all have been very busy last 2 days all 5 have been running containers.
I haven't tried with 1.6.x, but the 1.5.x builds would all fail (.Net service crash) if you connect using RDP while a container is running because Salad use gRPC to talk to the WSL instance.
As long it can pay my power bills and still have a little income...I will still stay @ salad. I have a 4070TI but planning on buying a 4080 with 16GB of VRAM.
3060 12ggb gpu and a xeon 2680 v4 14 core cpu with 64gb server ram made a whopping $2.50 in the last 7 days. Really dropped off this last week but oh well, it wouldn't be working otherwise so i'll just let it keep chopping away
Salad looks dead I am surprised you have not ventured into RENDER? For what I am reading it sounds like another PoUW opportunity. The bid difference is think you get paid out in the Render token.
@@TheFunesk basically allows your computer to mine crypto through their platform. For me it only seemed to use my cpu. And you don't get paid out in crypto
If it is an 8gb version I can see that as there isn't much demand for 8gb cards, I have the 16gb variants and they do about $1.60 a day with mining disabled.
This is what happens when you let your GPUs toss salad all day.
Hahah yeah . Should just go back to using eth algo

Same….Sad salad earnings. Sold my salad rigs as workstation/gaming PC. Made more $$ then I ever would have on salad.

Salad and salads have one thing in common. The longer you let it sit out, not being used, the worse it looks.

Are you running 3090's also??
@@jclardy im running a 4080 in my salad rig. with Xeon 24 core CPU.
I make more on salad with my 3060 than with mining kawpow plus the lower power consumption when it's waiting for a job
So by adding 6 more 3090 to help you pay for electricity will overcome the expense in RAM memory for all the rigs??
No for ai you need x16 slots

Hi RP I'm at $70 for a 3080 and a 4070tis. Way better then mining and less maintenance thanks for keeping us posted👍
Just checked. My 30 day earnings is $84.51 w/ 2 identical rigs: Ryzen 5600X + 64 GB RAM + RTX 3090 Ti + 1 TB SSD
I have twins also. More than a month and I'm at $70.00 not great, lots of jobs just fall off. I have even seen my profits drop!

apparently 3090's r having some trouble getting containers, i'm not sure why...

Common theme with GPU mining … 2 years later … time to read the writing on the wall
I have 64 gb of ram, a threadripper and 2 3090’s SLI bridged and Salad appears to use both GPU’s
I wish I could run Salad but it won’t work on my Mac.
I never got into it ... but at least you have the hardware 😁
profits down everywhere
When are you gone fire 1 470D Rig? I hate salad! 🙂
