    Good video Teddy I've own my sc3900 for over a year after selling my 2x SL1200GLD and never look back the best turntables ever used.Djteddy says it all.

    You got it DJ Tyme! I have been in the game for over 10 years and back in the day I used to roadie for other DJs. Carrying milk crates, speakers, amplifiers, cables and turntables gets old pretty quick :)

    :) Ha ha 8.38 ''I don't even have my computer with me...'' Generation gap... I've never had a computer with me in the booth in +30 years... Nice to hear you being happy about it. I've been using the Pioneer gear since 1994, after using Vinyl for almost 10 years, and switched to usb 2009 and now I have everything on SSD's. I don't think I'll ever bring a laptop with me, but that's because I've never had an error during playtime with my Pioneer players and I still do about 100 gigs/year. I'm fortunate to be able to have the Nxs2's but even if I cut down my gigs to a third, I'd get the XDJ-700/DJM-450, unless Denon comes up with something really good. They do have an ad out now that hints that somethings coming soon.., but it better be very good. That's the only downside using the Pioneer stuff... not much left in the bank to buy something else. It's just to start saving for the next generation.

    Hey I know you aired that demo a while ago. I used your video along with others to deside what turntables to get. It was battle between Pioneer CDJ line. After seeing how you went to the mixing right out the box, that was cool. I do Dj as a hobby plus I also do my Battalion functions (Millitary). Right now Im currectly deployed to Afghanistan and I'm also scheduled to return home in AUG 2014. I should have my two decks waiting on me.. I paid 450 for each deck. I may have to do the same you did, get a bigger box lol. Thanks for the post. Dj BladeBwoy

    Pioneer is all good, but you're talking about $2000 per media controller.. And they do not spin!!! I like the vinyl feel of the Denon SC3900!!

    I have had mine for 3 years. Rock solid. Any negatives? Yes. Two things. The Display sucks. Not that I use it much anyways. Still. If the display was better, this unit would be perfect. Second, you have to press a button every time you turn on the unit so that it will continuosly play a CD or control CD. I would opt to have the pitch control recessed like the Technics but other than that, I really love these players. PLus, SOOOO much cheaper than Pioneers. I am not hating, Pioneers are beasts. I just like the vinyl feel to these.

    dj teddy your setup is awesome, i am thinking of buying a pair of these denons. i have the sc2900s and they are amazing peices of dj gear.. 2 years ago i made a big mistake, i bought myself a pair of pioneer cdj 850s because everyone was like..omg pioneer are the best..but after using the 850s i was pretty dissapointed in them...not many features..no link capability so i turned to denon and the quality of the cdjs are second to none.. you get so much more for ya money from denon. do you still have these turntable ??

    • @paasdehaas9001
      @paasdehaas9001 8 лет назад

      +christopher roberts hello, if i may ask, what´s wrong with those sc2900, i know the first 2 years problems,but they are solved i thought.... ooohhh i read it wrong... well there comes an updtate of the sc3900 , so i´ll wait , mainly cause by that shitty wireless streaming stuff, but i have to say, the screen resolution sucks, the sound is oke, but a frontloader is never optimal and the power supply cords sucks . Knowing denon they replace the dsp and dac , since there are are finally better once available... which also cost nothing, but it´s easy to open it and clean the laser and replace the output for a iec... and the standrd cable sucks. When playing just cd´s it has the same problem as the dnx1600...too flat...not a nice analogue sound... But then again, they cost nothing and the x1600 is real fun to scratch with...but unuasble as normal uppergrade cd player..
      which would be grade....It would save space. But the plater and stuff are real great....it would outperforms the technics even, which says nothing, 30year technololy comparing with ´new gear´, 2012 anin´t new but....

      Even now I still use pioneer cdj 850 HID mode and are awesome with both serato scratchlive and serato dj pro... they are so much better than the 3900

    You can do pitch bend on the platter like a real turntable in this device?

    • @DJTEDDY507
      @DJTEDDY507  9 лет назад

      Yes, they work just like a real turntable. The advantage is that they can work as a CDJ and midi controller as well.

    Did they ever improve the firmware so you could have more than one drive connected at a time when linking (one on each unit) and not require rebooting when changing this?

    • @DJTEDDY507
      @DJTEDDY507  7 лет назад

      Reticuli don't know what you're referring too. I used to link them together to read from 1 USB drive. As far as computer connectivity, they were never really that compatible. They act more like turntables than CDJs when plugging to a computer

    you sended a mail, that to be a real dj you have ,like you perform every weekend.....sorry... but that counts for the majority, but kidparties doesn´t count and without performing, it means i can´t scratch.... maybe, maybe not. But since you play every week, i would use a more reliable mixer, since they are pretty old, and it´s for real not a sturdy case ....nothing against behringer, .
    But performing every week, heat moisture, i would prefer a solid brand and denon it´s pioneer a und h denon dj, rane etc...

  • @paasdehaas9001

    that mixer is build crappy..... besides that it is outdated, the thin metal sucks....and then buy two 3900,,, kind of strange

      About the DDM-4000 from Behringer... I got one in 2008 to have while I saved up for a newer Pioneer mixer when I couldn't trust my DJM-500 after many years of use. I also didn't think the DDM-4000 was near the Pioneer in terms of build quality, and as I didn't plan to have it for long, I didn't treat it very well. No violence, but no case when I took it with me for gigs, and surprise... Now 10 years later, except for the monitor EQ button 'snare', the mixer works absolutely perfect. It's not my preferred mixer, but I use it for DJ workshops and my kids use it for their school discos. It happens that I set it up for a practice run now and then too. For the price, it's very good value and I can recommend it to anyone who need a 4 channel mixer with lots of possibilities and utility's, that is also digital and completely midi compatible, but are on a tight budget. You will not be disappointed.
      A few things that make it quite impressive:
      1. Dual digital effect banks that can be set to any channel.
      2. You can manually set the frequencies for the ''low'', ''mid'', ''high'' EQ on each channel
      3. There's 3 balanced outputs where one is a dedicated sub out.
      4. You can choose on which frequencies you want to use your effects. Low, mid and high. Only on the most expensive Pioneer mixers.
      There is more, but those stand out for me. The only con for me is that it's not that very intuitive like a pioneer mixer. You really need to learn and practice on it to get things work fluent. It has more built in features and a quite extensive configurable utility menu that set it apart from most other DJ mixers. If that's your thing, it will not be a con for you :) .

    The display on these units are poor! I except a little more style from Denon, who are a mega reputable DJ brand! These and the SC2900 look very cheap! These CDJ are nothing compared to my Pioneer CDJ 2000 Nexus' I hope Denon, one day will smash the ball out the park with a nice looking CDJ media player! Every PIONEER midi controller is compatible with Traktor! Even the Serato branded controllers! Go on the Pioneer DJ website and you'll find TSI files there! All done by Pioneer themselves!
