- Richard is yet another icon for me. He is a big fan and collector of the KdFs and early VWs. I'm glad that Richard allowed me to photograph his 1943 car in my book for the demonstration of the main differences between those cars.

I had the pleasure to meet Mr Hausmann in the summer of 2021 and he graciously gave me a private tour of his incomparable collection of vintage Beetles.
It was an absolutely wonderful and unforgettable experience!

What a wonderful looking building, truely a time warp. Is there more footage about the actual building, was it once a operating workshop ? I would love to see more of it. There are few films of these types of workshops, they are just as interesting as the cars.

Why do these cars have a piece of leather in their headlights? I'm really curious about that.
Hello Ekmek, because during the second world war it was required to cover your lights so the enemy planes wouldn't see cities in night.

What happened with the original kdf steel press machine?
So, what would I need to change in order to make a recreation KDF Wagen or Kommandeurwagen?
I've recently been trying to find an interesting project, and this would be an excellent one. I have two 1960's bug shells, and I was thinking about converting one into an Afrika Korps Kommandeurwagen and the other into a KDF Wagen.
Hi, I think it's better to look than to change. Many of these gems are still in European barns.
