I'm 71 and feel the same Unfortunately I've waited too long to see the originals in concert. Chicago will always be in a class by themselves. Exceptional musical magic and talent!
At 53 my friend, I only hope I can catch up on all the greats that came before. No matter what style you like, no better than a talented band. I only wish Terry Kath made it this far, but I guess it would be too Bill and Ted's? Just too good, to close to heavenly.

I completely agree, masterpiece after masterpiece, remembering the days when we would listen over the radio in the backyard on a Summer night, the best days of our lives.
Im a 63 year old white guy. In Houston there was an f.m. station around the 85 dial or so no longer in existence i. the 80's, it played music from many genres, pop, rock and soul(its where i first became aquainted with Percy Sledge, Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder and the like) music is universal just as God is universal, I have to have my Chicago fix from time to time!
I am 65 years old and love Chicago seen members come and go. No one is better than Terry Kath. God bless Robert Jimmy and Lee are still with us in our original members.❤

Like the Eagles Chicago was well practiced, orchestrated every song to have both an emotional and musical appeal. I am beyond 65 and still enjoy their music. It takes me back to my late teens and the young woman I loved so much! My youth exuberance and excitement for life. It is a nice break (Only the Beginning) but I got to get back to work.

It is now 2022 and I still love this group of very talented musicians. I could listen to them all the time. Their music takes me back in my life when things were very good for me. Love this group. Are they still together? SYLVIA-FL
I played Chicago t my children all their life. The last 2 concerts y 30 year old twin daughters took their husbands to? Chicago! I raised them well, I'd say! I'm still listening to this day. Their recording of the 1970 Tanglewood Concert is the tour where I saw them live for the first time. Have spent many evenings on the lawns with my babies listening to Chicago.
It's not the same band anymore. Half of the guys in this video aren't even in the band anymore. Bassist/vocalist Jason Scheff, keyboardist/vocalist Bill Champlin, guitarist Dawayne Bailey and drummer Tris Imboden all have left the band years ago. From what I've read online, sax/flute player Walter Parazaider is no longer touring with the band either due to health issues. So that's the lion's share of the band in this video no longer together. Only Robert Lamm (keyboards/vocals), Lee Loughnane (trumpet) and James Pankow (trombone) left with a bunch of newer musicians. Not to say that whatever current lineup wouldn't put on a good show, but it's largely a different group.
I was introduced to this band in 1973 by my host American sister during my exchange student year. Since this was the first year of the rest of my life, Chicago is the soundtrack of it. It's still today!!!!! Love you guys!!!❤ 50 years afterwards, you're still here with me down bellow the equator line.
CORRECT! It has been almost 24 hours since I saw them. Only complaint, whoever was mixing sound, had the Chicago Brass section potted down too much. They followed the Brian Wilson band. Kinda like Sandy Koufax (or Randy Johnson) pitching a doubleheader. 2 bucket list items, in 4 hours. (Sandy and Randy pitching a game each, in a doubleheader?) steve
I’m from Ottawa, Canada. I have to say that the Americans have to be proud to have produced the best artists in the world. Chicago amongst so many. In Canada we are ions away from ever producing beautiful music like that. But we’re trying. Maybe one day! That music save me in my life from depression. I’m 62 years old. Luckily we have you tube because I never had the chance to see Chicago. But my teenage years and my twenties were amazing because of all the great music and bands coming out of the United States. The disco and the soft rock made me who I am today. I’m a good person who tries to help the most vulnerable of our society in Canada. Music opened my heart. ♥️ ♥️♥️♥️
You just said all my favorite bands Chicago the Eagles Earth Wind and Fire Let's don't forget about the Bee Gees Steely Dan Santana mandrill War ambrosia Kool & the Gang Player Tower of Power and the list goes on and on man when I hear that kind of music I'm in another world and I'm away from all of this mess up today they were Ground Breakers they were talented and they were about their craft and it shows outstanding just outstanding I will love them all forever and until I close my eyes😍🥰❤💞💯😎👍👍👍🙏
I'm strolling down memory lane in Sept. 2022, listening to these classic soft rock bands. RUclips has all the bands I use to listen to in the late 70s. Now thanks to the wonderful people that upload to share these classic groups. Now on to Journey, and Bon Jovi, , Eagles etc. Thanks again 👍🏾
Of course, I miss the original band members who left the world much too soon; but hearing the original horns & sax still fills me with excitement & joy. In the early 70’s, they performed at my college. Afterwards, a few of the band members headed up the highway to a restaurant at the truck stop. My boyfriend was working there pumping diesel, & got to meet & talk to a few of the members of the band! I still can’t believe that showed them my picture! A few years later, I was lucky enough to see their performance in Chicago! What could be more perfect! At 70, I still get chills up my spine when I hear some of their early CTA songs, & the classics, of course! 🎺
Rare to have a composition of so many music professionals on one stage. Three gifted singers, some members being eloquent in more than one instrument, not one wrong sound, no long talking pauses between the songs, songs played very near to the studio version, wide spectrum of wonderful arrangements in each of the songs, just perfect music from the finest. Great musicians.
Love, love, love this group. My all time favorite hands down! In addition to The Eagles, Doobie Brothers, Earth, Wind, and Fire. So many great memories.
I love Chicago,, they were awesome when I was growing up,,In 1967 I was in the 7th grade,,I was playing guitar and singing out in front of people, chasing women, i thought i was a big shot, with my 4 cousins,,we played a couple of their tunes,,I still think Peter Cetera was one of the greatest singers Chicago had,,I played in several different bands growing up,,but those early years bring back so many memories of romances and great times,,back then was such a great time for music and different bands like Ambrosia, that could really harmonize, the Eagles,,with great harmony, even going back further, Johnny Rivers,,poor side of town,,Baby I need your loving,Daryl Hall and John Oates,, but Chicago really has stood the test of time, they're music will never die out,,neither will these other groups I named,,and I'm still playing the guitar,,messed around with the saxophone also,,
My first Chicago concert. Was in love with their music ever since. The more I listen the more I recognize their superstar talent across the entire band. What other band has so many front men where they give each other the space to shine and they all shine so brightly.
This is just timeless music! Grew up with it and Chicago is one of the best - if not the BEST! All members with amazing talent! Thank you Chicago for all the great music!
Scottie, I agree with you! I have and will always listen to Chicago, no matter who the band members are. Can those critical of this iconic group grab their instruments and sing on stage for decades after decades, 9-10mos of the year and perform as well as their 1st tours? I read somewhere Chicago hasn’t missed a performance. In sickness or feeling under the weather, the show must go on! Please do not insult the members who give their 150% on stage 😀 !
@@gingerwong3986 Amen Ginger, if you were Chicago band ember you've worked hard and played for s long time Unless you're a child prodigy who minored in Chicago the band and its music. I was a bit worried when I first saw the young guitarist until I got to the 3rd song and I resigned myself in to believe if Terry Ca ive log enough to be on stage with this version of Chicago h would most likely sound the same as this young shredder gone jazzman rocker . Still rocking to Chicago's Lullaby
@@wades_world_lederman_style Many ppl may not be aware these guys probably picked up their 1st instrument at 8 or 9 yrs of age & haven’t put it down since. Each lead guitarist has his own “style” & Dawayne Bailey was very different from Terry Kath. Both were excellent. I liked how Dawayne shredded his guitar & felt he brought youthfulness to the group. I feel with Jason & Dawayne, Chicago was at it’s tightest, but that’s my opinion ☝️. I’ll see them this summer with a whole new line up.
@@wades_world_lederman_style Hi Wade! I just saw this Iconic group- sat in the 2nd rowq & could count the guitar strings on their guitars. As you know, there was a new line up, and the new members will carry on Chicago’s legacy. Chicago did not disappoint & I throughly enjoyed the concert!

I always loved "Chicago's" music with the brass players, guitars, drums, bass players, key board players and vocalists. I never knew any of their names, just knew they made great jazz, blues and rock and roll. Anyone who knew anything about music could sing, sway, dance or just listen to this colorful band's great sound. SYLVIA - FL
My all-time jazz band I knew all their names but forgot at age of 67. The comments just refreshed my memory on their names but one of the members died in the early 80,s I did follow them closely. Went to see them in Sun City middle 80,s. With late hubby of one year glad I finally saw them with him here regards from South Africa
There are no words to describe how great this fantastic band has been for more than five decades! The most addicting sound of all time! I am 80 and still can’t get enough! Puzzling why Chicago has been more popular overseas than in the US.

I love how many of us from all races and walks of life agree that this phenomenal band is AMAZING!!! I've loved them since l was in my early 20's. I'm now 68. ❤❤❤
I didn't really discover Chicago until 1982 when I was age 18. It seems they had a 'comeback' then...with "Hard to Say I'm Sorry'..I will forever link that song with starting university and my first real 'love'. Peter Cetera was his own voice; and I followed him after the break up..some incredible music! But Jason Scheff is who I most remember as the voice of 'Chicago'. I'm 58, and this takes me back to some very good times; thank you! :)
No one realized how great Chicago really was when this core group was together; Jason Scheff, Bill Champlin, Dwayne Bailey, Tris Imboden, Robert Lamm, Walt Parazaider, Lee Loughnane, James Pankow. True professionals!
@Pamela W yes but it is now 2021. Terry has been gone since 1978 The band has moved on, as they so callously and cold-bloodedly do, after anyone leaves the 'brotherhood'. You're in, til you're out. This line-up is the best in their entire arc of evolution, after the prog-jazz-rock anomaly of 67-78 but you will never hear compliments from Lamm or Walt or Pankow on that fact.
This was 30 years ago. The original band came together in 1967, 26 years before this recording, or something like that. The band was created around 56 years ago. I was 14 when they started, and by the time I was 17, the music was only top shelf. Glad I was alive and still have the memories of the 1950s, 60s, and '70s to the present. I like the way Leonid and Friends reproduced the original music.
Without Terry or Peter, he needs some help.😎 My true intro to this excellent outfit is “Live at Carnegie Hall”. I got the vinyl set for my 15th birthday. They Coloured my World.
a 53 yr fan here!! i'll always be in love with this band. i will always miss terry, walter and peter. everyone else who has come and gone left their mark. Hope Tris is still doing well. the best band in the biz!

That first cut , make me smile, is true legendary. Takes me back to my years around 1970 to 1973 when I didn’t know what I was going to do in my life but run .. I was full of life and music was my savior. One spring day on Friday I was going the back roads listening to Three Dog Night and that led me to Chicago Transit Authority . But it was Robert Harland (rest in peace) that first told me about this group called Chicago. Robert was three years older my older sisters classmate. We were one night walking down this dark dirt road , a short cut headed to get some white port wine . Robert said have you heard this new group called Chicago. I said no. Then he broke singing Does anybody know what time it is. I said man that’s cold Robert. Cause do really know what time it is. So this big thing karaoke many years later and I put that song in my list of Kareoke songs along with beggings, and that beautiful ballad, Color my world. My goodness Terry Kraft put his stamp on that song and many more. The introduction with the piano and then Terry capturing the deft of your heart with that slow timeless vocal. If you listened closely he’s putting some notes in that vocal. Probably one of the greatest songs ever recorded. In 2009 in Oklahoma City at the zoo amphitheater Chicago and Earth Wind and Fire. Among the greatest concerts and I’ve seen a lot of them . My wife made me go get drinks and nachos. I bought an EWF shirt and then coming back down the stairs they were playing . I said hurry Up and get to your seat. Amazing. So much brass, percussions, drums, bass and lead gutters guitars. And with those instruments and vocals. Nobody stepped on anybody It was beautifully laced together.I think every young kid ought to learn music. It’s so vital . My two girls were in band from 6 grade through 12th grade.. Thank you Robert for introducing me to one of the greatest bands ever. Ya’ll enjoy . And my name around the corner I took him that concert with the two groups. He played bass in a band 60’s to early 70’s. He stayed glued to the set and knew every song as he broke down each. I sat amazed of his recognition. Now like Robert Frank’s gone on. But my memory of him was a fond one. He was friend, my neighbor and we came from different backgrounds. We grew up in a time where kids respected and appreciated life . And that’s what I’ve given you a piece of my life influenced by one of the greatest bands ever. The birth of the muscle cars, the eight track tape players, and color tv. Wow? I’m 75, first saw them in ‘75. Love ‘em!
That is perfect 75 and 75 what a great time for you
I'm turning 75 and l still get chills from hearing Chicago! From Waukesha area but had a sense of pride for the only Rock pop band to use brass instruments from the heart ❤️ land ! Thank you Chicago for one of life's pleasures !
I'm 71 and feel the same
Unfortunately I've waited too long to see the originals in concert.
Saw Them at Cerritos Performing !!! Wow !!!
Ditto Ditto Ditto
I am 68 from Shorewood. My favorite of the era.
GREASTIST BAND EVER, there music will live forever!!!!! i have been listening 50 years, will never get old
Good yes, but we know who are the greatest ever band who started the band era & it starts with 'B'.
Hi check out Leo and Friends, Chicago cover Band you will not be disappointed...
Is Chicago still playing and recording their great music? SYLVIA-FL
@@ChannelMaster720 yes was at a concert in Denver in 2018 they were amazing!! I saw them 40 years ago in 1978 in Portland!! They had lots of projects going still in 2018! Timeless!!
I completely agree, masterpiece after masterpiece, remembering the days when we would listen over the radio in the backyard on a Summer night, the best days of our lives.
Chicago Transit Authority rocked…I’m a man great tune ! So many hits…
Memories from a lost era. Simply the best…
The best!!!!! Doesn't matter how old you are. My daughter is 28 and we listen to this over and over again. One of our faves.
Me too I watch this everyday
Im a 63 year old white guy. In Houston there was an f.m. station around the 85 dial or so no longer in existence i. the 80's, it played music from many genres, pop, rock and soul(its where i first became aquainted with Percy Sledge, Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder and the like) music is universal just as God is universal, I have to have my Chicago fix from time to time!
What does your skin color has to do with liking this band?
I am 65 years old and love Chicago seen members come and go. No one is better than Terry Kath. God bless Robert Jimmy and Lee are still with us in our original members.❤
I've been listening to Chicago since I was 16 years old 50 some years ago awesome 😎
Patricia Fisher 5493 yeah Patricia you know your music don't you girl Chicago is the greatest and they always will be they've had a lot of great hits one right after the other girl 🎸🎶🎸🎶🎵🎶🎵🎸🎵🎶🎵🎵🎸🎸🎸🎸🎵🎶🎵🎶🎸
Me too. 67 now
Like the Eagles Chicago was well practiced, orchestrated every song to have both an emotional and musical appeal.
I am beyond 65 and still enjoy their music. It takes me back to my late teens and the young woman I loved so much! My youth exuberance and excitement for life. It is a nice break (Only the Beginning) but I got to get back to work.
same for me, back to younger years. Nice songs, great band!
GRACIAS DIOS... Y GRACIAS CHICAGO.😊😊
I am speechless. Was listening while working. I am watching it now and am floored.
What happened to our world 🌎. 😢 what happened to the smiling care free days. Wow this music 🎶 takes me back to the simple days. God bless everyone 🙏 and may there be peace on 🌎 ❤
Not too many bands give you the chills. "I've Been Searching So Long" is over the top. Thank You Chicago for sooo many years of great
entertainment.
I agree with that.....
I can vouch for the chills. I felt it and nearly made a tear as I wondered how the music died, and we’re left with intolerable noise that makes me angry!
**********************I miss the music….**************************
only saw them one time~~~ Carnegie Hall !!! NYC early 70's Yeah!!
Yes❤️❤️❤️
But your Chicago fix is ready to bless you when you tune into Leonid and Friends from Russia with Love. find them on RUclips. They are alive with Chicago tunes.
Listening to Chicago I must close my eyes and reminance. Terry Kath RIP
You can't think of Chicago without remembering Terry.
Never get tired of listening to them
I AM 70 I FEEL 18 AGAIN WHEN I HEAR THEM I "LOVE" THIS BAND GOD BLESS 🙏
Listen to Leonid & Friends. They carry on the spirit of Chicago.... as Russians
I was introduced to
this band in 1973 by my host American sister during my exchange student year. Since this was the first year of the rest of my life, Chicago is the soundtrack of it. It's still today!!!!! Love you guys!!!❤ 50 years afterwards, you're still here with me down bellow the equator line.
Cannot forget this outstanding band, as i started to follow them in the early 1970's, i still listen their great music.
They STILL stand out and deliver the hits!
Поддерживаю тебя---так-же...с 70..го
Chicago is a Classic Band that Never goes out of Style ! The Best by far ! 🎼 🎵🎶
CORRECT!
It has been almost 24 hours since I saw them.
Only complaint, whoever was mixing sound,
had the Chicago Brass section potted down
too much. They followed the Brian Wilson
band.
Kinda like Sandy Koufax (or Randy Johnson)
pitching a doubleheader. 2 bucket list items,
in 4 hours. (Sandy and Randy pitching a game
each, in a doubleheader?)
steve
Ive been listening to this group since I was a child. now at 62 yrs old I still listen to them daily love their music
Yes, i agree
I ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ 💕 LOVE THE CONCERT AT GREEK THEATER!! ITS 👏 🙀 😯 AMAZING !!
Love these guys, but compared to the British?
Oops.... Rush, Saga, April wine, Guess who, Joni Mitchell, Gordon Lightfoot, Neil Young, Triumph, Bryan Adams, Sarah McLachlan, Bruce Cockburn, etc.
I love Ann Murray. She has that deep voice when she sings, and she is a also a beautiful
Canadian women.
Agreed, we had the best music of all time in America. But you produced Joni Mitchell! Whom I adore
Listening to CHICAGO in live concert is awesome with all that BRASS 🎺🎷🎸🎹🥁🎤🎷🎺🎸🥁 and INSTRUMENTS with singing.
Chicago, The Eagles and Earth Wind and Fire are my favorite bands among many great bands.
Three of the best from the 70's...
Add Tower of Power..
Iam 66 yrs ,but still watching this concert ,repaeatedly. ms jason in chicago, jason is so great and amazing, love jason...
Old school straight up, they just don’t produce bands like this anymore. So glad I was part of that experience ❤️
Bravo!
I must agree. This is a great group of very talented individuals!! The first time I saw them was 1972.

Couldn't agree more.
Love, love, love this group. My all time favorite hands down! In addition to The Eagles, Doobie Brothers, Earth, Wind, and Fire. So many great memories.

I love Chicago,, they were awesome when I was growing up,,In 1967 I was in the 7th grade,,I was playing guitar and singing out in front of people, chasing women, i thought i was a big shot, with my 4 cousins,,we played a couple of their tunes,,I still think Peter Cetera was one of the greatest singers Chicago had,,I played in several different bands growing up,,but those early years bring back so many memories of romances and great times,,back then was such a great time for music and different bands like Ambrosia, that could really harmonize, the Eagles,,with great harmony, even going back further, Johnny Rivers,,poor side of town,,Baby I need your loving,Daryl Hall and John Oates,, but Chicago really has stood the test of time, they're music will never die out,,neither will these other groups I named,,and I'm still playing the guitar,,messed around with the saxophone also,,
Dawayne Bailey, Bill Champlin and Jason Scheff - my favourite Chicago line up ❤❤❤
My first Chicago concert. Was in love with their music ever since. The more I listen the more I recognize their superstar talent across the entire band. What other band has so many front men where they give each other the space to shine and they all shine so brightly.

I loved them before I went to a concert but after I was obsessed .. just fantastic beautiful music I can’t get enough
This is just timeless music! Grew up with it and Chicago is one of the best - if not the BEST! All members with amazing talent! Thank you Chicago for all the great music!
I love it when Robert lamn songs lead on Chicago songs. He is my favorite Chicago musician and he is also an amazing piano player
I enjoy hearing Lee sing lead on some songs over the last 10-20 years. He has a great rock voice.
Simply Amazing! Still Listening in 2021.... Chicago Forever!
Great band for sure ⭐⭐⭐

30:06 Dawayne almost kissed Jason Scheff 😂 this is my favourite Chicago line up. My cutie crush Jason Scheff, Bill Champlin and Dawayne Bailey ❤❤❤ Too young to watch this great band then. Thanks to RUclips I'm still able to discover them now. 2024 is my year to discover this great Chicago line up
Growing up in the 70s with Chicago, got me through some great Love's I'm my life, and also broken hearts.

Today even greater!!!

SYLVIA - FL
The horn section always orchestrates their sound to a full registration.
THE BEST band in history of mankind. You will never hear any band this good for the rest of your life.
Thank you Chicago! You will always make me so happy! Nothing can destroy the love you continually bring to the entire world! Thank you!

“Chicago” - блестящая команда!!!! Потрясающая!!!!!! Браво !!!!
Спасибо Вам просто за т, что вы их любите! Это мой любимый бэнд! Особенно этот концерт! То что они сделали ни кому не под силу!
Grupo Chicago en su mejor momento con buenas voces y músicos excepcionales. Gratos recuerdos !
Chicago stepped out of their Comfort Zone and were Super Successful ! Trumpet Players are FANTASTIC ! Your Forever Fan , Josephine C.

Terry has been gone since 1978
The band has moved on, as they so callously and cold-bloodedly do, after anyone leaves the 'brotherhood'.
You're in, til you're out.
This line-up is the best in their entire arc of evolution, after the prog-jazz-rock anomaly of 67-78 but you will never hear compliments from Lamm or Walt or Pankow on that fact.
@Pamela W Norwegian?

How about peter cetera have you forgotten him? Still alive 'n kickin'...making beautiful music as a solo artist.

Chicago is the best, As i always love to say they have the best horn section in music by far.
I've seen them several times! And each time, they are just Absolutely FANTASTIC!
Robert lamm has such a great singing voice. Totally underrated. He can harmonize with anyone. I wish he sang more lead.
Without Terry or Peter, he needs some help.😎
My true intro to this excellent outfit is
“Live at Carnegie Hall”.
I got the vinyl set for my 15th birthday.
They Coloured my World.
Underrated? Seriously? He sang some of the greatest songs in my lifetime
Agree. He definitely should've been doing Make Me Smile throughout this era.
The best Band/Orchestra of all times. I saw them live in Carbondale, Illinois 1971 December
a 53 yr fan here!! i'll always be in love with this band. i will always miss terry, walter and peter. everyone else who has come and gone left their mark. Hope Tris is still doing well. the best band in the biz!
The guy who sings Peter's songs is good but I still miss him and no one can replace Terry
ahhh Robert Lamm.. my high school heart beats when I see you at Tanglewood.. you lil honey you .. smooth operator! Beginnings.. always my favorite song .. love you !

The guitar player shreds and the band is tight! One hit after another!

Wow?
