Glad I found you. Spent thousands on the Brother and had no instructions on it. You are really helping me with this. Do lots more videos on these machines please. Thank you for all your work to make these videos.
Today is June 2, 2018, I purchased Babylock Cresendo, spent a lot of money and not having much luck at the store I purchased it from!! I wish I had NEVER made this purchase. I bought the machine March of 2018. I would like to purchase a DVD or CD and try to learn how to operate this machine to the best of my ability. I am very NEW to quilting and be so overwhelming. I did enjoy this video !!
Thank you for doing these videos! These have helped me so much. I purchased a Destiny July 2015, but I am almost too scared to use it and feel a bit intimidated by the machine. I have been sewing for 30 years, so I am not a newbie. I do not have time to go back into the store regularly for machine instruction b/c I work full-time. Certain I would use my machine more if I only knew how to use it and what all the buttons were for...So THANK YOU for putting these videos on RUclips and PLEASE do more....You've been a lifesaver! Thanks again :) Jen
Fantastic! Thank you so much for doing this video. I have a Dream Machine and this video has shown me how to do things with the decorative stitches that I wasn't aware I could do. I will definitely be using more stitches in different ways and will also be using the laser. I passed along a link to this video to another friend who has the dream machine. Again, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
I just bought the Destiny Ii. Since I live in Paducah Kentucky and April means quilt week the store where I bought it won't be having classes available until May. Plus there is So much to learn and I appreciate how well you are showing the different features highlighted in this video. You mentioned how you loosened the tension when working with metallic threads so I was wondering how you do this and what tension you found to work best?
At the bottom of the screen, you will see +'s and -'s for stitch Length, Width and tension. His the minus for tension to decrease by 1 and then test it. Tension is affected by thread, fabric, humidity, needles, etc so you always should test a stitch before using it. I think there is more information in you manual on page 90. Hope this helps.
Thank you I have a brother dream machine and do not have the knowledge to use it efficiently. I had one lesson from my shop I purchased it from. They have only had one other class in 7 months and I took that. I want to purchase dvd with instructions for doing applique by putting the applique pattern into the I Q designer. Then doing placement stitch and then satin stitch around applique. Csn you help me and others with this instruction.
I happened to read a sentence in the Dream Machine manual recommending that all decorative stitching should be done using a ball point needle. I have been using a 75/11 embroidery needle assuming it would stitch best. Wondered if you (an expert) had an opinion about the importance of using a special needle for decorative stitching.
I use the needle appropriate to the fabric and thread combination. The topstitch needle is my favorite one to use for decorative stitches as it has a large eye to accommodate thicker thread. I will generally use a ball point needle for knits or for satin. I tried the ballpoint needle with some decorative stitches but I didn't notice any difference.
Great video....hope you can show more about the Dream Machine. I have the dream machine and still would love to know more things on it. Can you maybe show us how to use the appliqué on this machine.....there are so many video of how to sew and embroidery but very little on how to use machine.....thank you,,,,,
Hello,, I have an question,,, I am trying to figure out about the appliqué. When I go to scan a simple pic and want to do the appliqué, on the touchscreen, where the 3 keys on the bottom of the color chart, appliqué material, appliqué and appliqué (oops forgot the 3rd one). They all do the same things. What am I doing wrong?
The Cresendo is a sewing only machine and most Babylock models work about the same. There are lots of videos available on the Baby Lock Sewing Machine RUclips channel. Also, contact the dealer where you bought your machine. Almost all dealers I know give free lessons on the use of the machine. I know our shop gives lifetime free guide class lessons. It's a wonderful machine!
All is well. I just have been extra busy at work. The holidays and planning for events at work have taken up most of my time. Playing with our new little kitten doesn't help either. I have a few videos that are in the editing phase and should be out soon.
There are serger-like stitches on this and most sewing machines. They usually call it an overlock stitch and can be found in the utility stitch menu. It looks like an overlock, but it is still a type of zigzag stitch and the foot has a small bar in the center that keeps the fabric from tunneling while the overlock stitch is formed. It's also a lot slower than a serger. A serger forms the overlock stitch by "knitting" over the edge of the fabric with the looper thread allowing knits to stretch and gracefully encases the edge of the fabric in thread.

The upgrade is definitely worth it. Check it out at your nearest dealer.

I'm working on some videos for the Dream Machine and the Babylock Destiny. They both operate just about identically.
Another question … can you also do more videos regarding the Cresendo???

The 9x14 hoop only works on the Destiny or Dream Machine.
any serge stitches on this machine?
