63rd Street Beach Back In The Day On Chicago Southside - Bongo Drum Music

I have fond memories of my daily visits to the 63rd Street Beach on South (Lake) Shore Dirve. They played the bongos there quite often. Bongo playing moved to The 63rd Street Beach from The Point located at about 54th & South Shore Drive just north of the Museum of Science * Industry. The bongo playing in the 1960's and 70's was epic. I remember in the summers returning college students would convene there along with the African Culturally- Aware Community.
