Growing up a Baby Boomer with all this stuff he is talking about, I really get where he's coming from. The 50's and 60's were a special time in America, where we almost made the Dream come true.

Just bought his pictorial book. I grew up in the 60s and we took a lot of vacations where we visited roadside attractions and stayed at motels on the side of the road. It was a magical time and once we graduated to Disney World, I felt like I found Nirvana, but being from a lower middle class family, we could never afford to stay on Disney Property, so we had the best of both worlds where we still stayed at those roadside motels. Till this day, I am in love with that era and all that was and never will be again.

Greetings Charles, from one of your newfound fans of your car videos!
3:19… Recently I found a globe (but without the stand) at the local solid waste transfer station. It had apparently fallen off of a commercial hauler refuse truck. It sat all alone on the concrete floor in the huge new facility near the entrance. The trash was all bulldozed to the other end of the warehouse. I was there taking pictures for my Yelp review when I noticed it, and scooped it up just before I was shoo-ed away from this “verboten” area. I called it the “forlorn globe” in my Yelp review. Long story short, I turned it into a ceiling fan pull chain pendant. (no globe stand necessary)
At 2:27, you show the Seattle space needle, which was built for the 1962 world’s fair, and therefore was not there in 1957.

Los Angeles is a special place for seeing buildings from years past mixed with new buildings. Unfortunately San Jose California which has or had a rich history is being bull dozed on a daily basis. 90 percent of the iconic places from the 50's to the 80's are gone forever. Sadly every piece of land is being utilized for housing. Not single family homes either. Huge buildings with 100 or more units that all look the same. The only thing we have left is a group in Facebook called San Jose memories where we reminisce about the once beautiful San Jose, California.
