Got me too. Today in Dallas Texas. It was a holiday so everywhere was closed, cause I was thinking he could just drive to a pawn to make way more money. I paid him 227. 2oz gold chain and 1oz gold ring. He was a good con man. I’m not a dummy and he got me. Going to suck for him when he meets my God at the white throne of judgement.
I'm sorry to hear that, the scams going around are insane. They take advantage of the limited tools out there to test and verify. Stay safe and I hope karma gets the best of him
To be honest, it sux! But you were being a little greedy only giving $227 for $2600 worth of gold. That alone should of made you realize it was fake, if he actually accepted that low. That’s crazy, that’s like selling your $100k car for $10k, it just doesn’t make sense no matter how you look at it. Sry to hear what happened though.
Imagine all the people got scammed by the same person lol! I got scammed too I live in LA county area, CA. He drives a SUV either white or black I cant recall, has his wife and kids. Gave me 2 rings which turned green right away and a 18k gold chain that seems legit so far. But I think ima have to make a few more test. Still I got scammed.
BRUHHHH some guy pulled up on me in a grey chevy malibu and he claimed he was from dubai and he lost his documents and information and he tried selling me his gold ring i just gave him 20$ for the gold chain so i didnt lose too much luckily
That Dubai just down to New York. He drives a white SUV and pull over on side of the 678 highway with his wife. He claimed he lost his credit card and needed money for gas. He hand over a ring and gold chain and asks for $200. And also show he has "rolex" with him. I gave him $40 and he throws me a ring. Just happen today 3/14/2023
No way the same thing happened to my friend, guy claimed to be from Dubai and they were 18k that’s crazy where did that happen to your friends cause were also wondering if there real lol
@GildedBlanco I did and 18k and it passed but if I put 22k acid on it it eats it right away. It definitely feels light but not really light. Have u ever seen a metal chain that can pass for 18k ? I could take a quick video of it and show you the scratch and the acid tests and show u the chain ??
@GildedBlanco opon further inspection it's most likely aluminum. I looked up aluminum goldtone continuous chain and it looks very close. I didn't realize aluminum didn't dissolve in solutions.
well now i'm thinking that Gold necklace the EX gave me aint ugly looking,,but if itz fake it will be after a vinegar bath. Better just trade it at the Bar for Pizza n beer
how can i test my 5 micron 18k gold on my ring? because i bought it online and according to them that my ring is gold plated in 18k real gold 5 micron how can i test it?
@@Naejakire3I’m sure they know that lmao. Pretty much every listing of jewelry that 14k says 14k solid gold meaning the gold that’s in it is real gold not that the whole thing is fully gold🤦🏼♀️

Won't work on thicker plating, unless the plating isn't gold. In that case, file into an inconspicuous area and test the exposed core or shavings
You have to expose the base metals. The vinegar really struggles to penetrate the gold layer. File a tiny spot next time.

can you do this test on gold filled chains ?
I’ll try it out
I have this long continuous chain and it reads up to 18k but fails at 22k and platinum. It can't be real right ?? It feels like it's hollow ??
I could definetly be hollow did you drop 14k acid on it?

My mother found vintage ring at the backyard and it wrote 14k in that ring
Might have found some gold then

Whatever gold plated is gonna peel off .
Do you have a gold testing kit? With the black stone and acids
You don't test gold plated rings.
Dude where is your home
I am currently trying this right now…
How did it go?
The gold falls off the chain and its still not proof....wtf
Does it work for 14k? I’m paying $400 for a solid gold 14k ring soon, want to make sure it’s real.
The test are good for a test of reference but like I mentioned if you wanna be 100% certain just go to a professional. Sorry for the late response
Meet him at a pawnshop so you can get it tested but make sure you know the shop you go to test for gold
Did you test it
I can advise you to go in shop of jw they test it well you pay little money 💰
14k isn't pure gold..
