Lots of congratulations! IMG here, targeting MATCH2023. Do you mind telling us what you did in your home country that helped showcase your interest in Radiology? Did you get all those 3 US-based LORS from the tele-rotations? All the best for your days ahead!
Hi Dr Lidya - it is an absolute 💯 delight that you have shared your experiences of medical studies journeys in different countries. Keep glorifying God and the best is yet to come. You made me proud 👏. Love & Light!
Hi. Congratulations on your amazing success. I was wondering if I can ask a quick question? I'm a UK doctor, and am considering the steps. However, the work-life balance is an extremely important concern for me. Would you be able to shine some light on the average weekly hours of a DR resident, and a radiology fellow afterwards? Also, would you be able to clarify whether there are opportunities for Less than full time work? Moreover, how many days of annual leave do residents and fellows get? I'd be forever indebted if you can help.
From my Teleradiology rotation and my radiology residency from my home country. I also did some CME course when I was a radiology resident, that was given by radiologists from USA. I got the LORs from radiologists that I connected with through obsevership/training .
Hi Lidiya, thank you for making this video. Is it essential for an IMG to apply following ECFMG certification or they can apply with step 1 results (Pass) and then update CK scores later? Also, can you tell me what kind of LORs you used for your prelim programs and for radiology programs? Were they all Radiology LORs for Radiology applications or did you use IM/Surgery letters as well?
Do you have to arrange for the intern/transitional year by yourself or does the hospital providing radiology residency help with arrangements for the intern year?
Hi, I’m interested in radiology. I’m a U.S. img and my step 1 score is 242 and haven’t taken step 2 yet. I’m doing my third year rotations in the US. My step 1 score is the avg of matched applicants, so I want to find other ways to stand out. Do you have any suggestions on how to stand out on your cv, specifically for radiology? TIA!
1. Research 2. You can volunteer at organizations like RAD-AID international, you can also create connections while volunteering, they also give CME certificates 3. USCE- rotations 4. Apply widely at IMG friendly programs
