There will be some slowdown. Blame RemoteJoyLite. Besides, it was either slowdown (RemoteJoyLite 0.20-a) or flickering (RemoteJoyLite 0.19). Not like I have a HD-PVR (or a PSP that has video output).
This game is basically a remake of the SNES classic Mega Man X. Supposedly, the creator (or something) wanted to do a remake of all of the X games up to 6 (I think) but Maverick Hunter X flopped.
Some differences between the SNES and PSP versions I can think of are part locations (Dash is located in Flame Mammoth's stage. The game can be completed without it. I did it personally), acquiring the Hadoken (go through Armored Armadillo's stage without taking damage. Charged Rolling Shield FTW), Vile has to be defeated in the intro stage, and Sigma Fort stage layouts. Oh, and Zero's buster charged shot is different from the one X gets from the capsule (you get Zero's buster by defeating Vile without the buster upgrade in Fort 3).
As for the playthrough:
100% for X on Hard mode. Hadoken is included. Fire Wave is spammed to hell and back (it is overpowered), Storm Tornado is spammed to hell and back (overpowered), some deaths here and there, weaknesses are abused, Hadokens are thrown, and Domon eats the scene. "I will defeat you, Sigma!"
After X, I'm not done. I next tackle Boba "Vile" Fett mode on Hard mode with 100% (it is harder than it looks). Distance Needler is kept throughout the whole mode and found out that Stubborn Crawler is friggin' overpowered (and I thought Straight Nightmare was powerful.) "Not a charged shot!" What. -

X7 is the worst IMO.
X4 and 8 are great compared to X7.
Advantages over the original:
-Story is more fleshed out
-Dash boots in Flame Mammoths stages mean you'll probably play it whilst it's still interesting (still on fire)
-Getting the Hadouken is a challenge as opposed to a tedium
Disadvantages:
-Bosses and X don't shut up
-Dash Jump off of walls of harder to pull off
-Stigma final fight is too easy and exploitable
Other notes:
Played this on the vita, doesn't look this terrible when actually playing.

Why is this game receiving so much hate? I don't see anything wrong with it! It's the voice acting in megaman X4 you need to hate on!

People don't hate the game, they just hate that it was a remake that got ported exclusively on to the PSP, and I'm assuming that other Megaman X remakes were going to be on the PSP too. The game didn't sell well, so Capcom assumed that the game was bad.
Originally there was supposed to be an X9 but Capcom was like nah let's just remake the original into the PSP.
Regardless tho Maverick Hunter X still slaps to this day.
Fuck the voice acting, that was typical back then with anime. X4 was a great game regardless. Hate on everything past past X5, the series was a joke by then....
There is a lot cooler soundtracks cover for this epic soundtracks they should have done it with better music
Honestly, the voice acting doesn't bother me nearly as much as the dialogue itself. There's no quicker way to deflate the tension of the original Vile fight at the beginning than pausing so he can inexplicably whine "I _hate_ you!" multiple times.
Wow, this remake looks REALLY good. Definitely better than that shitty iOS remake.

This game plays and controls really well. I'm a fan of the original, but I'd go for this version because I find that the look and sound of it give the game more energy.

I think this is a neat take on the original. I was surprised to see so many people bashing it.
The8BitSlug Maybe it's because of the rearrangement of certain things or the script of it being different. I honestly prefer this take on MMX better. Pity it didn't so well enough to greenlight the other 5 remakes. But then, I'd wanted this to see a port outside PSP.
I think it's a great game.
I prefer the SNES original personally but I think this is a neat reimagining of the classic game.
I think people got the wrong idea, they believed this game was created with the intention of being a substitute for the original while, in my opinion, it's supposed to be a brand new take on it that could appeal to newcomers and also surprise old players thanks to its little twists like the different level layouts, power up locations and changes made to old set pieces.
I don't see it as a remake but rather as its own thing that heavily takes inspiration from the original kinda like the new Ratchet and Clank reboot or A Link Between Worlds (even though the latter was never advertised as an actual remake to Link to the Past)

@Zedrik Allenwith the first dialogue between x and zero after vile destroyed him x told zero that he not strong enough to defeat him but zero says that x will get strong as him one day if he keep moving forward but in the remake it was replaced by a dialogue which feuls the shippers

I would say that this remake is even better than the original, the cutscenes help to narrate the story very well, the music remixes are really cool, an amazing reimagination of the first game, this game is really underrated.
I wish there was a filter to this version in the legacy collection.

Classic SNES version is much better because of
1) The graphics were superior

i really liked it as well. I didn't really like vile much but it was fun to play as him cause it was a new experience! vile actually gets really good the more weps he gets but in the beginning it's hard!
also the 3d and a-some looking backgrounds were so cool to watch!

Finally realized that X's voice is Domon from G Gundam... then immediately thought of the Dark Gundam when X said that Sigma must have brought Launch's body back to life...
Gotta say, I really hate how they changed the intro the dialogue in the remake.
The original version's dialogue especially for intro stage was spot on perfect and told the player that he could get as cool and as strong as Zero.
