  • The 20 Incher Stonefly Nymph is one of the greatest stonefly nymphs ever created. Now considered a "classic" fly, but do not underestimate it fishiness just because of it's age. The twenty incher is a very versatile fly and imitates a wide range of insects. It can be tied large or small, light or heavy (with a tungsten bead...or 2 for that matter!). This is another one of the must have flies in your flybox. So get tying!

I tied one! LOL. It took me a few tries and I had to go back and redo some steps because it is really easy to creep up on the eye with this one, but it looks like a bug now!

Just subscribed. A minute or two about how to actually fish the fly du jour and perhaps what regions would be effective to fish would be awesome.

I really enjoy your how-to videos. Great instructions. On the older site, a material list was included with each pattern. The 20 incher is a killer pattern (recently used it on the Taylor River in Colorado and caught a nice brown). I want to tie more of these but do not remember the materials used. Could you post this stuff with your videos?

If I am trying to buy supplies from your Amazon how do I know what to buy? Many of your videos don't tell what hook or thread color/type.

Hello! You guys make awesome videos! Any chance you can do a video on a double bead peacock stonefly (aka a cheeseburger)? This guy did one but it’s not as good as you guys can do:

I have been trying to tie this pattern and can never get it right. It’s tricky business with those double beads..
    Thanks!

It's beautiful but fly tiers need to show a fish on the line with them. The art form is beautiful but show us a fish in the mouth. This will double your work here but I've seen some unbelievably perfect flies on RUclips tied without the show me element. Show us the money.

You clearly haven't spent much time fishing western water. This is a killer pattern and Tim nails the presentation.
