      Joey Anthony Guitar Awesome video! Can you give a little more info on the neck shape? Is it a pretty fat neck like most 50s style?

    • @joeytheguitarplayer
      @joeytheguitarplayer  4 года назад +1

      Thanks for the compliments Justin!
      No, it's not a fat 50s neck (unfortunately). With the 2019/2020 Squier Classic Vibes there's no changes in the neck carves, no matter what decade their shooting for. 50s 60s 70s all have this same "C Shape" neck. It's on the slim side, almost a hair flat-ish running down the center (where the skunk stripe is).
      Hope this helps, but maybe I have added confusion instead.

    I've been playing guitar for about 25-years. I've recently sold off most of my expensive guitars and basses, and replaced them with Squier CV's and am a happy man. The bang for your buck with these things is insane. For a third of the price of the expensive versions they replicate, you get guitars and basses that are almost as good (sometimes better in my opinion). Great video.

      Have you spent much money modifying them? It’s a direction I’m thinking of going in bc (1) I can expand my collection, and (2) I don’t have to be as concerned if it gets a scratch or a ding or even stolen … unlike if it was a an expensive Fender.

    • @dramado
      @dramado 3 года назад +2

      @@Baci302 I usually play them for a couple of weeks so I get a good feel for what they do well, and what needs work. That being said, I usually don't have to change much. The tuners are fine on the ones I have, and the pickups are usually quite serviceable as well. Usually the saddles and bridge assembly is the weakest point imo, and that's a cheap fix usually.

      At a local music store, I asked to check an amplifier. What guitar do you want? - A Tele. Here a MiM Tele. Enjoy. The pickguard wasn`t straight the body.

    This was one of my first electric guitars back in 2008, got very battered and eventually lost after lending it to a friend.. considering buying one again lol. Nothing about it felt cheap, neck felt amazing, intonation and action were always on point no matter how much of a beating it took, solid guitar.

    I got my first Tele new in 1968 when I was in high school.It was 310.00 CDN with a bird's eye maple neck, rosewood board, blonde finish and the black case with the requisite orange interior.
    I'm 70 now and play a CV Custom Tele.I believe they are the best thing Fender has done since the 60's, the neck is the closest I've seen since 1968. I only replaced the saddles with brass compensated ones, installed dome knobs, strap locks, a tortoise shell guard and an extra string tree.All else is excellent.Kudos to the Chinese and Fender.

    I have to say that you have some great lighting in your videos, they're really showcasing the guitar looks and aesthetics.

    NIce vid, thanks! Mine is from '011, when they came with brass saddles. I bought one used as a gift for my cousin, and liked it a lot. I bought another for myself (used on EBay for $200), expecting to rout the body and change the neck pickup. Once I played it I couldn't change anything, it's so good just as it is. I always recommend it as a first guitar for 1. Its physical strength and resistance to boneheaded mis-handling 2. Its tuning ease and stability 3. Its vast range of tones from treble-dumped neck only to full-up bridge only 4. The longest history of deep contribution to more genres of music than any other guitar. ps Your playing sounds good.

    I noticed you said your tele was made in China and I know all of my older Classic Vibe Strat’s were. However I just received this new Squire model 10/27/20 and mine was made in Indonesia where I see a lot of brands moving to from both Korea and China. The good news is mine is also fantastic build quality. I also bought from Sweetwater so I could choose the lightest of the four choices so mine weighs a very comfortable 7lbs 7.5oz. 👍 I have no need or desire to upgrade anything after my first two-hours of playing it. I have not played any American Fenders unfortunately. But, if you’re looking for a good Tele for blues, and handles gain well, I’d say you’d prob like one of these CVs. Really sounds good rammed into a Fuzz Face.

      It's a known fact by now that Squier CVs (Strat and Tele models) were being manufacturered in both China AND Indonesia this year. It appears now that more and more of this product line is being made in Indonesia, particularly from the Samick factory. But, that could change again in 2021.
