Because I wish he had been able to express his emotions without being so terrified; even though I KNEW, and HE KNEW he was safe with me. I always thought i had imagined our bond, until the last few minutes I got to have with him. I learnt from his father, my pa, to always tell ppl how i loved/appreciated them whenever I could- even if they didn’t believe me. Pa died when I was just starting to discover how much music could truly save lives, and that i had more music in me than we ever knew. He never got to see/hear/know how music came from his heart to mine. But my Dad sure did, unfortunately, he didn’t have the inner courage to express himself, so the love he left me was just silent confirmations of my imagination.
