I have found that the Pedal Commander solves the known Tacoma problem of poor throttle response, and it also minimizes the known problem of gear searching on the 6 speed transmission. It installs plug and play in ten minutes, can be set to 3 different sensitivity modes as well as turning it off (back to factory).
A viable/good idea might be to get the Pedal Commander and a performance tune, since they are for different purposes.

At first I was skeptical about all three. I then decided to go with the Sprint Booster. Ease of installation and the ability to fine tune it with a push of a button helped me decide. OMG, what a difference!!! I shaved a little over a full second on my 0 to 60 times and the throttle response is great. More importantly, the ability to safely merge onto the highway are a snap. 100% money back guarantee is a plus.

The Banks peddle monster hooks directly into your OBD2 port which is said to eliminate the possibility of going into limp mode! Think its the one im going to try! And its does vehicle diagnostic’s for trouble codes as well! My Tacoma for me doesn’t need more power either, for me its the lack of throttle response, ive driven a new 4runner with the same 3.5 engine and it does not have that issue, the dead pedal is very annoying (and a known issue) especially when your not used to it because my work truck that I drive everyday has normal throttle response!

I had a sprint booster... on a 2022 trdOR, honestly it feels the same without it, for my conserved driving style . I also learned how to drive the truck correctly, and not think that im racing it, its a truck not a Tesla or corvette lol... I sold it. Also way too jumpy at the start from a complete stop and driving through parking lots. That can't be good for all the mechanics in the truck. I get better mpg without it because I have a more variable throttle options where as with the SB it took away the ability to the feathering the throttle aspect, throttle was either on or off and kinda jumpy and it made it impossible to cruise at lowest rpm possible. Even to try and drive through a parking lot at 1000rpm or less which again, was nearly impossible and you half to "muscle" your foot to try and push the gas the most minimal amount possible. I kept mine on sport 1 mode...tried other modes also. Maybe my truck learned from the sprint booster with the 1000miles I had it installed but my truck hauls ass and shifts great without it... auto transmission btw with stock everything. I definitely love that my OCD thoughts of it failing at any given moment are gone now too lol. One time while driving though a camp site in mammoth lakes around 7am it did fell like the throttle cut out around 5mph and for a few seconds I thought "what happened to the throttle response" but who knows... that's kind of the thing, I don't wanna be the 3rd or fourth tacoma owner with a defected or whatever SB. Not worth the risk for such little gain/loss? especially with my family in the car. But hey it goes faster, right? lol. Ive talked to guys at camburg racing of their opinion, after I bought the sprint booster... they said regearing is the best route to go if you want better shifting and response... again im all stock and never really plan on building it out too much, maybe one size bigger tires or a snug top camper shell in the future or 2" suspension lift... sorry for the "rant" just my honest opinion and experience. The pedal commander's eco modes did sound appealing, though. Something the SB doesn't have...

I think a "throttle enchancer" is the most ridiculous scam ever. Just push the ECT button or wear heavier shoes. If it doesn't update any of the mechanical or electronic parameters except augmentation of the throttle position, it's not worth it's weight in silicon.
Getting a professional tune (such as the popular KDMax tune) actually does change quite a few parameters in the ECU that legitimately make a positive difference in the drivability of the vehicle. Toyota really neuters the 2GR in the base tune for the Tacoma. That's still nowhere near as good as getting a regear though. With your setup, 5.29 would be perfect, and you will never look back. The only regret you'll have after getting a regear is not having done it sooner.

Why are 2 of your wheels black & 2 white or aluminum? I didn’t think I needed a pedal enhancer for $300 bucks, just step on the gas harder, right? But I got the Pedal Commander & was instantly glad I did. Even just “City” mode is soo much better a response than stock, “Sport” mode is what I leave it in most of the time, but “Sport+” is super zippy, just for fun once in a while. Well worth the $300 IMHO!! But, I’ve only had it for about a month. If it starts behaving weirdly I will return here & let you know. P.s. I couldn’t care less about your standing tent!! I clicked on your video to learn why not to buy a pedal enhancer!🥱
