I've never been a person who's excited about "ships" and all that stuff, usually I just watch shows for characters and interesting plot and don't care who ends up with who. And I don't know what've happened, but since finishing this series I just can't stop thinking about these two, seriously, it's a problem, I just can't go on with my life! And there are probably months until we get season 2! I don't have anyone to talk to about Nadia and Guzman, so I thought maybe it's a right place to share my thoughts to fellow NadiaxGuzman fans out there :D So I was thinking about reasons why this couple stand out so much. 1. Great acting. You can literally pause every scene with them and notice these little things, like the way Guzman looks at her and you feel like watching two real people falling in love. Or how Nadia seems to be tense and little stressed around him sometimes, not knowing what to do with her hands. 2. The fact that in the show which is so packed with sex scenes we don't get even kiss between these two, and still it feels their feelings are way more serious than any other couple in the series (in my opinion). It's hard for me to name any other show with not even one kiss between "ship" 3. The effect Nadia has on Guzman. When watching this show, sometimes I thought to myself that she's little too harsh and judgemental towards him. But later, I rewatched first episodes and I simply forgot how big of an asshole he was, not only towards her, but also Samuel. To think that he even switched on camera when he entered that pool with her - he was totally ready to record it and use it to humiliate her, can you believe it? And at this point one could think he started to genuinely like her, they spent some time together working on a project. Think about it for a second, for a girl like Nadia it would be a tragedy, if this video of them in this pool would somehow get to her parents her life would literally be over. She wouldn't be able to finish school and probably her whole life would take totally different turn just because of this one situation. It's hard to imagine caring Guzman we know from later episodes would even think about doing such thing to anyone. 4. How delicate and subtle their story is. You can sometimes think that Nadia doesn't care for him that much, but there is lot of things I've noticed only after a rewatch. For example, scene when she lets him in the shop in spite of her father - she tells him "Say what you want, he's coming in" and opens a door, standing up to her father like this was really meaningful. I also love this scene with them coming back from jail, when she hugs him - it was so cute, like she just couldn't help herself. It meant so much more than kiss in my opinion. And this scene with them listening to music on a stairs - it was also quite unique, like there wasn't need for any words, just being together. 5. To sum up, I can't think of any other teen show which portrayed falling in love in such realistic way. My problem with romantic plots in tv series/movies is it usually feels terribly rushed and not authentic. To be honest it's hard to portray two people developing real feelings toward each other in such limited time. I like Omar and Ander, but to me their love story was little rushed too, it seemed like they met 2 times and they're in love. And to my surprise, I found Guzman's words "I'm in love with Nadia" something which seemed authentic and not rushed at all.
M D Wonderful and thoughtful analysis! Couldn’t agree more, it’s a mix of a many things who made those two work so well together. There is something so subtle about them in every gestures or stares. The perfect combination, in summary.
Oh my god ! You described exactly how I felt about them. I just finished the show and the same situation happened, I just can’t help but thinking about these two. I am in fond of love stories, tv shows, and I am writing stories myself, and one of my favorite thing has always been the slow burn relationships which are undeniably genuine and real, like the one Nadia and Guz are sharing. I exactly agree with every point you mentioned, the fact that their relationship is so gentle, you can feel that in the acting and that nothing is rushed regarding the overwhelming superficiality of the way more « sexual » relationships in the show. This is news to me. I don't think they are. (I hope someone can clarify this) I totally agree with the camera thing. When he switched on the camera before getting into the pool, I was appalled. I couldn't believe he'd do that coz I was thinking he had already started feeling different towards her by that point. But later I realised that he switched on the camera coz he didn't know she was high. He thought she wanted to get into his pool after all the high moral ethical stuff she talked about. About the no kiss thing, oh my God, imagine a main ship with no physical interaction and the only intimacy being a cute hug!! But that just made it so much better and more relatable. Believable. Also I love how Guzman never encroached her space, knowing her culture and religion, he respected those boundaries. The actors made this ship so epic! I rewatched all their scenes so many times and each time I could point out more nuances which had skipped my eyes the previous times! Subtle hand gestures, eye gestures etc etc! It'll be a year before season 2 but I just hope the wait is worth it. Coz the last scene in episode 8 was so messed up.
I know! And since they have to stay away from each other in season 2 (which i hope happens!) then there will be even more tension. all the will they, wont they angst!
Haleema Well since Nadia told her father that she refuse to go to school again if it’s mean stop being with Guzman ( or more like she refuse to go again if she can’t be a normal student, and so can’t do what she want ) and he agree I really think the problem while come with Lu. She was there when Guzman need someone, was ready to suicide himself, she is litteraly crazy about him and now Guzman « fell » for her again because he is sure that she would be here. Plus, with Marina’s death he clearly hate the three students ( maybe not Nadia but he certainly gonna avoid her ).
She brings out the best in him. I hope they make a 2nd season and we can see their relationship develop into more. He needs that good energy in his life
I think we all agree Guzman is the best character improvement wise, decision wise, emotional wise. Frankly he has been swiping everyone’s shit off their ass from the first episode to the last😂 and Nadia is just so cool, she is beautiful and smart and loveable. They are perfect for each other

They were the biggest surprise for me. The trailer made me think I'd hate him but instead he ended up being my second favourite guy(after Ander). I'm still rooting for him and Nadia but they're definitely gonna be a slow-burn.
Before Carla discovered her inner Lady Macbeth and Polo became unhinged, I liked them quite a bit. I wanted Polo to sort himself out and for Carla to be stronger in the face of Lu constantly telling her that she always rolled over for Polo, which she did do, but then she went even further. I admire her keeping the boys in line because heaven knows they'd have fallen apart without her but I can't in good conscience support a murderer or his accomplices so I want that trio to get their just desserts in S2.
*Spoil* yeah of course. They did a mistake, but it's a tv series and I liked them a both. Polo isn't a bad person, I think. He is the good one for me, even if he is the killer. I think Carla is worse than him, for that. But I love both.

I know that it's Marina's words that really pushed him, he wouldn't have done it otherwise. Polo needs to accept himself, his sexuality, and let go of this obsession he has with him and Carla as a unit. I think he's afraid of change, which is understandable since they've been together since they were 12. And he definitely isn't strong enough to bear the guilt of killing Marina in the long run. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up committing suicide. He's going to break one way or another. As for Carla, I don't think she's necessarily a bad person - Marina betrayed her and she only wanted to save her family - but I can see her embracing the darkness now that she realizes just how powerful she really is. Season 2 is basically gonna consist of Guzman being with Lu just so Nadia doesn’t fall for him as he wants her to stay at that school. Obviously Nadia is gonna feel extremely jealous and the feelings will grow more. Nadia and Guzman will be END GAME!!! can’t wait.
There was one scene... *spoiler for anyone who hasn't yet watched* One where marina gets drugged and there's blood on her mouth. Simultaneously nadia cuts her hand and she sees marina and goes to help her and marina's blood gets smeared on nadia's hands. I dunno if m reading too much into it...but it could be a plot twist if nadia gets infected.

Ann Federized Marina's HIV is undetectable which means that the risk of transmission is absent. Nadia, in consequence, is safe, she couldn't be infected!

But why would they show Nadia cutting her fingers if they didn't leave the door open to consider this possibility? I think they might explore this side. They might not. Just a guess! I'm right there with you. I just think he was in a vulnerable state, thinking of his sisters death, the fact he has to practically pretend he doesnt have feelings for Nadia. Lu seems to be the only person there for him at that moment. But I'm still shipping him and Nadia.
At first I thought Samuel and Marina were the leads,but after watching the whole series loved Nadia and Guzman.Both of them have strong aura , are best in what they do and very responsible.
1-As a Muslim I can totally understand it. 2- I think one of the most reasons that people are loving their relationship cuz it's pure full of feelings and respect. 💚❤️✌️🧕
I loved how they contrast with the other couples, just with an embrace they made me feel so many emotions. In the end i don't know if i actually enjoyed the serie but i for sure enjoyed their relationship as short as it was.
Just binged on this show & came here searching for videos on them! God the feels of these two! Such a great & intense show, such good actors, but these two just had chemistry from the first scene! Let’s be completely honest Lu and Guzman’s relationship is so one sided she’s into him and he’s not into her it’s purely just sexual attraction but what I loved about him and Nadia’s relationship is. It was purely emotional based nothing happened with them physically whatsoever and he ultimately developed feelings for her now that my friends is what you call progression
I saw this on netflix a couple times but always passed. I randomly ended up watching this video yesterday and then immediately binge watched the whole thing. Nadiaa and guzman are amazing and I'm so glad I watched it. Thank you for making this video!
Me too, even though I find it intriguing I was discouraged to watch it because I was lazy to read the subtitles but figured out there was an english audio so I gave it a go. M D I read what you wrote and I am thankful. I study psychology and I started to watch these type of dramas because they represented the youth generation which now I feel far from them. I surf the net and I found our analysis so useful. you know what obviously these type of real love is unique and maybe in series we have to show and mention these real feelings such as caring and being responsible more. they forget in our world. what they usually show in teenagers life is just sex and drugs and alcohol overuse. the thing is real pure love is something can be experience by any person. we should mention this such powerful relationship more and more to make it happen

Only watched this show because of my addiction to crime, mystery, drama series. Ended up being amazed and awed by the plot between these two amazingly written characters twisted in an intricately delicate storyline. 💯👌🏻

I really did like S1 and liked this couple to work out somehow even all the differences but you could tell how truthful their feelings to one another. I liked this couple the most because it wasn't needed any sexual scene to show the love like the other couples. And I found it hard as well on Nadia as she is a muslim this relationship will be so much trouble for her as she has a sister who was living in western life style and ended up runing away from home beside her gay brother so she tries not to disappoint her father whose being over protective... I could feel all her pain and the conflict she lives between her feelings and family/religion.
Originally in the beginning I thought Guzmań was just gonna be an ass but I think even in the 1st episode I saw that even though he could be rude as hell he genuinely cared about his family and his friends. I’m excited for him and Nadia to develop more but I’m just really hoping he doesn’t mess anything up💀😭
Nah he really does, for treatin Samuel and Christian like they’re fun on the bottom of his shoe, for not listening to Samuel when he told him to talk to his sister twice!!!! For not telling his parent s to come to the school cause marina was planning to leeave. He deserved everything. Hopefully he grows from this.

I feel like Lu and Guzman are a badass DUO, but Guzman and Nadia are a beautiful COUPLE. I think that Lu and Guzman have a deep friendship bond that they mistake for something bigger but Guzman obviously loves Nadia on a whole other level and she feels the same exact way about him. What Guzman and Nadia have is love, what Lu and Guzman have is a simply just a bond. At the end of the season I feel that he was just confused, drunk, and broken about what happened to his sister so he mistook Lu being there and loving him, and all of their past and bond, as him needing her when he doesn’t “need” her, he just wants her help. All in all he loves Nadia, and Lu has just been his support system for so long he’s confused.
For the first time in 24 years of my life, i finally found a realistic story about two people being in love while having a lot of sensitive differences between them. Nadia is so me :(

Season 2 is basically gonna consist of Guzman being with Lu just so Nadia doesn’t fall for him as he wants her to stay at that school. Obviously Nadia is gonna feel extremely jealous and the feelings will grow more. Nadia and Guzman will be END GAME!!! can’t wait.

I'm right there with you. I just think he was in a vulnerable state, thinking of his sisters death, the fact he has to practically pretend he doesnt have feelings for Nadia. Lu seems to be the only person there for him at that moment. But I'm still shipping him and Nadia.

I surf the net and I found our analysis so useful. you know what obviously these type of real love is unique and maybe in series we have to show and mention these real feelings such as caring and being responsible more. they forget in our world. what they usually show in teenagers life is just sex and drugs and alcohol overuse. the thing is real pure love is something can be experience by any person. we should mention this such powerful relationship more and more to make it happen

I really did like S1 and liked this couple to work out somehow even all the differences but you could tell how truthful their feelings to one another. I liked this couple the most because it wasn't needed any sexual scene to show the love like the other couples. And I found it hard as well on Nadia as she is a muslim this relationship will be so much trouble for her as she has a sister who was living in western life style and ended up runing away from home beside her gay brother so she tries not to disappoint her father whose being over protective... I could feel all her pain and the conflict she lives between her feelings and family/religion.
Originally in the beginning I thought Guzmań was just gonna be an ass but I think even in the 1st episode I saw that even though he could be rude as hell he genuinely cared about his family and his friends. I’m excited for him and Nadia to develop more but I’m just really hoping he doesn’t mess anything up💀😭

I feel like Lu and Guzman are a badass DUO, but Guzman and Nadia are a beautiful COUPLE. I think that Lu and Guzman have a deep friendship bond that they mistake for something bigger but Guzman obviously loves Nadia on a whole other level and she feels the same exact way about him. What Guzman and Nadia have is love, what Lu and Guzman have is a simply just a bond. At the end of the season I feel that he was just confused, drunk, and broken about what happened to his sister so he mistook Lu being there and loving him, and all of their past and bond, as him needing her when he doesn’t “need” her, he just wants her help. All in all he loves Nadia, and Lu has just been his support system for so long he’s confused.
