God I hated this level. I thought it was going to be a comfy snow level like in Banjo-Kazooie, but it was a dark frozen cavern with rocks falling on your head. The music was awesome though, and this version makes it even more crispy and enjoyable.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: I didn't really like a lot of the music in DK64, but damn, your restorations make me love this music. The instruments are so well-defined and clear! I'm listening to this track on my Yamaha Aventage receiver with Beyerdynamic headphones, and it sounds absolutely pristine and perfect. Thank you, once again, for all that you do. I can't wait to hear more 🙏 P.S. - I really do prefer the 'fade out' technique, rather than the custom jingle remix that you have sometimes done in the past - just my 2c! Not sure what others think but maybe something to consider...
This song has been stuck in my head for weeks. I decided to look up to see if anyone had restored it. The nostalgia is overwhelming as I’m listening through headphones. This delivers hard.
This is my favorite video game song of all time. From my favorite area in my favorite game of all time. Thank you so much for faithfully restoring it like this. I can't wait until you have the full soundtrack available for this game! You do stellar work.
I remember hearing this theme from a music mix awhile back, it was very compressed. What a difference this restoration makes! Keep going with these if you can, cause they're really good!
@GalekC Yes, when they are falling in the level! It was awful and annoying, mostly because of the frequency it happens! At least you can defeat the cause of it and have a nice, calm track as you play the level :)
Another really well done restoration. As annoying as the level itself was, the music did a good job of keeping the atmosphere level. It kind of reminds me of the Mario Sunshine secret stages in that sense.
Hi Sam, this is great!! Maybe it's just me but I feel like at 2:18 the bass comes in just a tad late, but I could be wrong. Thanks for restoring this piece it's one of my favorites!
Oh it's beautiful... I loved this level, all my favourite musical themes except Battle Arena, Main Menu, and whatever the multiplayer one was are from here.
Great work, as usual. Crazy how different the panflute sounds uncompressed... I think it's interesting that--and this is just a theory--the lossy compression slightly messes with the overall EQ balance of the sample.
Or maybe he EQ'd it before putting it in the game. It may also that I'm using a full patch, which contains multiple samples, while the game only uses one
I gotta say. The SNES restorations you did sounded a bit off to me because I think this songs hinged heavily on the compression in the samples, but I think N64 was new enough to where this sounds amazing
Now there's a cover clear as crystal 😌 the wet drops are hypnotic even without headphones.
I was in the stream while he was making this masterpiece.

This was my favorite level actually and song! Beat that large dude up top and then it’s peaceful throughout 😂.
I know, right?! That’s why I always kill that annoying Kosha (the viking Kremling with the club) as soon as I possibly can lol.
Blame the Kosha that is a major pest.
@@retropixel1272 For a long time after I first played the game, I didn't even realize that you could get to where Kosha is and kill him.
May your career lead you to restoring every single one of my childhood favorites! Beautiful work as always.
This would be a cozy level except every goddamn 30 seconds the music gets interrupted and the ceiling falls on you.
You could just kill that lil helmet guy
Mind having to switch kongs.
We can always count on you to share our nostalgia with appreciation and good vibes 😌 No pressure lol

Oh man, you did beautifully! I just finished implementing mat cap reflections for my game’s crystals. Want this vibe so much. Thank you for posting.

Brilliant! Love your restorations.

The drips are SO NICE in my headphones. Also, thank you for not including the awful part!
what was the awful part? with the stalagmites or something?
@GalekC Yes, when they are falling in the level! It was awful and annoying, mostly because of the frequency it happens!

I always liked this level thanks to that music, it's very relaxing. You did a great job restoring that song.

You are right. Fixed, in the download links
Keep up the great work! DK, DONKEY KONG!
Thank you very much, I was on the stream and it was great to be working and
having a good time, I hope Restored by fungi forest comes out soon 🤩
Oh it's beautiful... I loved this level, all my favourite musical themes except Battle Arena, Main Menu, and whatever the multiplayer one was are from here.
I started my comment by saying I love the strings, but I kind of just love the whole thing. All the various instruments used make this song so fun.
Even the water droplets are restored!
Donkey Kong Country 64 is the weirdest game Ive ever played. Its so bizzare and creepy.
Yesssss, moreee DK64 🙇♀
It'll be so cool when Jungle Mine Cart, Forest Mine Cart and Creepy Castle Mine Cart music is Restored.
Great work, as usual.

this is so good i remember playin this
OOOOOOO BANANA!!!!!! SSS level restore Sam.
Any chance of an alternate No Drip version?
Blasphemous I know to ask that...
just in case you missed it, on the Google Drive download page there is indeed a version sans droplets. :) that's the version I grabbed!
Yeah!
I'm surprised you didn't put the Giant's theme during the commotion.
Ptsd inducing as a child.
I still have flashbacks of racing that damn Beetle
Too bad I didn’t have a chance to beat DK 64 but maybe I will one day

@@josejuniorsanchezsabino ?
Nice, think you can do stuff from Star Fox 64?
That level is a pain.
wow, how many of the original samples used for this game have been found?
Most of them. Just missing some SFX I think
are these actually the samples they would have been using? if so, how did you figure out which ones they were?
Grant has stated some of the equipment he used in the making. Using those as a starting point, I use my ear to match the sounds
@@JamminSamMiller based any link to where he talked about that stuff?
Restore the one from gloomy galleon 👌
What console is remastered version?
I made it in my studio, so I guess PC?
why don’t you collect the coins 😭😭😭
Man I got so many coins at this point in the game 😆
MALDITO JUEGO QUE NO ME DIERAS ESPACIO EN TU GENERACION TE MALDIGOOOO😡
