Russ, I absolutely LOVE going on Drive abouts with you! So enjoyable! I think I know the layout of the town now. So, in the fall it will be easier to get around. Great video!! 🥰🥰🥰
Mornin' Russ, how ya doin'? Loved the cruise round the town, so quiet now and i think Quartzsite is off for a well deserved siesta after the frantic season. Thanks for the journey and looking forward to next season when you'll be in the hot seat again. Stay safe and keep up the good work.
The canned food and drug tent is still open, they have plenty of stock, $10.00 a box, and a dress shop next to it. Yacht Club has been closed for over a month. Coyote will stay open, limited hours, Crawford's RV park stays open all year.
We always get a few folks from there all the way to the end of the Earth Lubec, Maine. I'm rebuilding my own Rv to join in so i can escape the freezing Winters here.
I watched the video because of the heading. In the late 80's to early 90's I was a vendor at The Main Event and Tyson Wells. I'm shocked over how big and spread out Quartzite has become, granted it's been over 30 years. I'm retired and off the vending gig but I just might take the 5th wheel down to Quartzite next January as I do miss wintering there.
The old vending days at the Main Event were great. The two lane traffic was another story. Now the road is much better but no more Main Event. The vendor attendance is nothing like it was when you were doing it. The area next to the Main Event is basically nothing now and Rice Ranch vending is just a shadow of what is was. Too bad. On the positive side, the Big Tent is much larger than it was originally If you make it there next January, you need to have sit down interview with Russ and give your thoughts on the changes from 30 years ago and what is was like when you first arrived. One thing that has not changed is the folks are still great.
Nice drive around. Thank you, Russ. BTW, noticed two planes tethered on the ground during the drone flight. Do you have a vid about these, or maybe consider including some info in a future vid? Thanks
It's strange to see how Quartszite closes down like that for the season but I suppose there isn't much people can do in the desert heat. Up here in Wisconsin and Minnesota we have stuff going on all year including tourism. even though temps drop down to -56 below, it just depends what you're into.

McDonald's, Carl's Jr and Burger King stay open all year for the I-10 travelers. The Pilot and Love's truck stops also are all year with fast food partners. I think the Flying J in Ehrenberg has a Wendy's.

Saw the title and was whaaa? Sure the vendors left but idiots like me are still here. Note: Big Market on the right next to Dollar General is open every day of the year including holidays. After Big Market on the left Solar Bills shop door was open so they're still open due to the weather up North (people leaving Mexico later then normal). Coyote Foods are open all year and make meatloaf, great chicken salad, sloppy joes, fresh sandwiches, decent meat department and have good prices. Closing this year is not good. At least open as needed or half and here is why. THE MASSIVE CYCLONE STORM that crossed the country 2 weeks ago FLOODED the central part of the US.
