Hello, My kits are currently 3 weeks old. If i have a seperate kit hide box would that stop the mama from feeding them? Especially in cols weather since kits wouldnt venture out? Would jt be better for a big hide box so mama can inside and feed them? I have the material for kithide box and if i was to build it would 18"×11""x6" be a good size?
In cold weather, we usually leave the nesting box a week or even two weeks longer -we simply turn it sideways and lay it on a piece of news paper covered with straw if you put in a hide box, if mama needs the nurse, she will simply flip the box over to get to the kids if they’re not coming to her. There’s another hi box we recommend for smaller kits. ruclips.net/video/hnk1GT9WlC0/видео.htmlfeature=shared
Very good and informative video again Bobby. May I ask you a question regarding breeding please?, is it possible to breed two totally different breeds of rabbit, if not, what should one avoid?. Thank you.
I have been wanting to create some housing for my local feral rabbits to keep them warm and safe from predators. I don’t raise rabbits. I live in the land of the mouse, Anaheim, so would these been good for feral rabbits or is there something else I should make?
I went to an ace hardware and they were selling one 2x3 for $18.95 i couldn’t believe it. you can get the same board at Home Depot for $2.50. Really depends on the Lumber and the store. Best of luck finding what you need!

Would these dimensions would well with am adult rex? And how would i adjust the dimensions of the box and hole for an adult flemish? I still have your plans for the 11"×11"×13" hidebox with 6"×6" hole. And i see that you have hideboxes for kits, can i use the mamas hidebox since they're in the same cage?
Sure, an adult Rex could use that- With Flemish giants, I would consider using A box that was a couple inches bigger, and I would make the entrance a couple inches bigger as well You can always try to use Mamas hidebox as well. If it doesn’t work, then just make an adjustment and go from there. Best of luck
That makes sense. They do need wind blocks for the winter season. Id find out what your prevailing wind is and place the back of your rabbitry to the wind - this hutch build should be sufficient for passing code with a back and sides ruclips.net/video/KUoOVswrpLs/видео.htmlfeature=shared
Absolutely simply turn the nesting box over but nesting boxes should be slightly bigger 11x11x11” this video shares more info about nesting boxes ruclips.net/video/W6-J4TW72VY/видео.htmlfeature=shared

Do the use the box for sleeping as well? I don't see any sleeping area in your cage.
they sleep in the hide box on top of the hide box or even on the wire

Rabbits in the wild will benefit from rabbit hotels - these are built with stacked pallets, surrounded with brush. They will move in quickly.
Wow my board in ct is $22

What is the dominant color in palomino rabbits Golden or Lyxx.
Chester
That’s a good question we raise New Zealand’s I would assume the genotype would be golden fawn
Thanks for the box talk. Per our city code if our rabbits are outside we have to have a 3 sided box for them.

You dont have a bottom. Is that because they poop in it? Thanks for the video.
That’s correct. Thanks for asking!
