He has a rare and stunning voice, absolute star quality. But let's be truthful here, he only rocketed to super stardom on the back of his association with Queen, arguably the hottest rock band in the world. Without that, who would remember him outside of the US...
The people know him very well in Europe, since his "Original High" tour.He did remarkable and unforgettable performance across the Europe and Asia.
He is actually more popular outside the US when it comes to his solo career. His first solo tour after American Idol went international, and that was before his collaboration with Queen. His Spotify top 5 countries has never included a US location in all the time I have been following him (4yrs).
IMO, his collaboration with Queen has been a double edged sword, it has definitely bought him fans to his Solo Music & exposure, & yes I'm assuming he is paid very well when he tours with Brian & Roger, but it has also hindered his Solo career. The amount of hate, vitriol, cruel & downright nasty comments I have seen thrown his way over the last 4 years by some Queen fans in various comment sections is disgusting. It shocked me when I first saw it, and I have had to learn to block/mute/ignore, and I'm a Queen fan of many years.
Adam Lambert already amassed multi million dedicated worldwide fans, was already a multi millionaire before he acquiesced to join QUEEN in 2012, they patiently waited 2years while he promoted and performed his 1st and 2nd solo career Albums worldwide. His 2nd solo career Album debuted #1 on BILLBOARD 200 in 2012, the same year he insured his voice for 48million $. Adam Lambert is singular in his artistry and no one comes close.

WHO CARES
I have disliked Adam since day one on American Idol. His attitude that he is God's gift to us is overwhelming. When he wears his hair slicked back and grotee, he looks like the devil himself to me. Please never compare his looks to Elvis; no one was nearly as talented and gorgeous as Elvis.
Funny because Elvis creeped me out from the first time I saw him in my teens..... a gut feeling that was later proven correct when it came to his liking little girls. Guess it just goes to show, we all have our own ideas of what constitutes talent/entertainment, as well as how much value we should place on it. Personally, I consider Adam's philanthropy and compassion as great a gift to the world as his singing. I never did hear of Elvis doing much for anyone outside of his own but in truth, I never liked him enough to pay much attention so I could be wrong.
