    This was a bit hard for me to understand when I started studying Biochem. I finally got it a couple of weeks ago, but watching your video now makes me comprehend more.

    This video is very well done, but my brain is still having a hard time grasping which form of niacin I should buy... my husband just had a CT scan about 1 week ago, so I’m worried about all that radiation and DNA damage. I read that I should give him niacin and cruciferous veggies to repair the damage/counteract some of the negative effects. The health store here has so many options for niacin. I would be so grateful for any help! Thank you so much.

      Just to make you less scared (i know it’s been 6 months), but you really shouldn’t worry. A CT scan does give a relatively high dose of radiation in a short amount of time, but it’s the same as 4-5 years of background radiation. It does increase the RISK of cancer, but only by a small percentage, and there is still the risk beforehand.
      What I’m trying to say is that the chance you have in developing cancer in your life is already around 35%. A single CT scan only increase that risk by a tiny percentage (I had a CT scan and was worried about this, did the mSv dose calculation and it adds to about a 0.1% increase), and so there is no need to be afraid that the radiation of the CT scan will cause cancer. Hope this helps you, maybe for the next time you need to do anything x-ray related ;)

    Does nicotinic acid damage the liver at any specific dose per day over time? I'm not asking about any other form of vitamin B3, just the nicotinic acid. Thank you.

      You can't learn/understand all of that in the first time, but the more you read biochemistry, the better you'll be.
      You can be better than me.

    Wow love this video, I love biochem but it kills me trying to understand it!!
    I do you have any video of topically applied vitamins.
    Could I say if niacinamide topically applied.
    B3 is an antioxidant, DNA repairing, lipid stabilizing and ummm like not anti-bacterial but could reduce acne by reducing bacteria..... god I feel like such a idiot. 😂

      I think its about the time of the video. RUclips in general "likes" shorter videos.

      @oreganojoeblack 2 года назад +1

      Y are you guys complaining abt something like this? You can always slow down the video yourself and besides, he is trying to keep everything in one video within the time limit. This kind of comments are proof that people can never be contented.
