With the magnificent mountains and bucolic landscapes located across the state, artists and pioneers could not help but replicate the sights before them. Simply amazing. Great history, fantastic art
The art is incredible isn't it? I paint & can't imagine holding that many movement shots in my head long enough to paint them. I prefer "paint by numbers" still learning, blending, feathering, matching. Complicated but fun once I get to paint.
LOVE LOVE THESE programs being a Colorado native for many generations, our family had an art gallery of authentic western art for a time, this brings back memories.
Reminded that I miss the fabulous Leanin' Tree Museum of Western Art in Gunbarrel

Sort of upset that no one ever talks about Howard Rawlins who was a wonderful wildlife artist living in the Wild Cat canyon in North Morgan County. He was a part of the Audobon Society documenting the local flora and fauna specifically birds.

I highly doubt God smiled on Western expansion. I certainly hope he was giving the opinion of others and not his own.
He smiled upon western expansion since he knew people did great things to accomplish the expansion. Things everyone in the US have benefited from.
