And the amount of people that overcharge for random piles of bionicle junk/characters because they know that, in some instances, they go for A LOT is insane. There’s at least a dedicated Lego website where you can buy and sell from all over the world with reputable buyers.. So I can only imagine how much overselling becomes a pain when it’s all random on sites like eBay! Knowing you have and like collecting dolls when so many of them are still on shelves truly is a gift!

I found a she-ra and the princess of power dolls. It's the Netflix remake of it and not the original. I got Glimmer and Bow for $3 missing a few accessories. Bow only was missing the bow he held. He has his entire outfit. Glimmer was missing her shoes, arm cuffs, and the magic accessory that goes on her hand to make it look like she's doing magic. She had another doll's shoes on and they are like $70 on eBay each used. My glimmer doll needed her hair fixed to the style she originally had which I could easily do myself.

Well no! Rarity has very little to do with it usually lol. My point is that these are generally not as rare as you think they are and the “value” doesn’t mean that’s what you have to spend.
Always get the dolls the first time at the original price. That way you won't pay an arm and a leg when you want to collect them. Especially if the doll line is discontinued. When I got some of my dolls, I paid 20 bucks. That was 15 years ago. One of my dolls that was $16 now cost about $150.

Not a single one of them. All of these prices are inaccurate. Money laundering in toys, particularly dolls, is extremely common. The prices that she actually paid are their real value. If you take the average listing price of listings for these dolls that actually sold very few of them break $50. The “rare” ones rarely break $90. There are very few Mattel products that are worth $400-500 and none of the ones listed here are it. A lot of doll collectors get duped by fake listings for vintage dolls and get excited thinking they’ve hit a jackpot. They haven’t. Dolls are a lot more fun to collect as a hobby when they aren’t paired with delusions followed by crushing disappointment.

They are bright pink and orange, and would turn from a dress into wings. The barbie can actually be seen in the beginning of this video. Unfortunately the wing shifting mechenism broke, and now i only have the wings. The Lizzy Hearts doll has never been played with and still has her origional hairstyle and accessories. I've had them forever and I want to give them a nice home

A lot of the dolls I’m showing here are collector/limited dolls to be fair! But it’s mostly because doll collecting became a bit of a fad since Covid so people are inflating the prices

Last year, I got my Giochi Preziosi Princess Elyon for 5€ + 5€ shipping on a local secondhand marketplace site, the only one in the sold listings on eBay is 375€, another one is currently listed for 190€ out of box like mine. So there are still good deals to be had today if you look through generic listings. My Elyon was titled like "knock off Barbie" lol. Your collection is amazing btw!

That's what the postings say but it doesnt necessarily reflect what they sell for, no shade just an observation. Like it would be a little bit more "accurate" to look up biddings on eBay and such.
If you read you can very clearly and plainly see that these are the sold listings that you’re trying to claim that I didn’t use. Or go search yourself and see that they do, in fact, sell for this.

Save to make sure you have money when they release or when they come up on eBay or somewhere else for cheap! Sometimes I find them thrifting! Just don’t give in to the first overpriced listing you find. Set a price you’re comfortable with paying and hunt until you find it

I am a reviewer and that puts me in a position where I can collect much more than would normally be possible. The point of the reviews and videos is to help the viewers decide if they actually want the product without needing to spend money to find out! Don’t ever feel like you need to keep up with anyone else’s collection!

Half of these I got second hand many years after release 😅 Annelise I got in 2021 on Facebook marketplace, Homura I got from Yahoo Japan auctions, AG number 4 from eBay in 2017(or 2018?), Aisha in 2017 from eBay. I just saw a mutual sell the Draculaura for $200 the other day and I’ve found pinkie cooper dolls at thrift stores many times. It’s not hopeless at all! Some are much less attainable if they’re limited but it does happen! I’ve seen many examples of people finding SDCC monster high dolls and Disney LE’s at thrift stores

The message of this is not to spend that much because you can wait and find a better deal. I don’t care about the value of them ultimately because I have them for my own enjoyment and not for resale
It’s funny, it seemed like a lot of collectors preferred the general release at the time! I think that’s why the general one remains expensive and the d23 isn’t that much more? Not sure how it is now, I personally just go for whichever is easier to get because they’re not usually different enough to me .

I think she had a slightly nicer dress, hair tinsel and glitter skin… but people did NOTTTT like the glitter skin and tinsel so it keeps the wide release more expensive. It’s refreshing to finally see people care about their personal enjoyment of the doll rather than the rarity or value because LE doll spaces rarely have this sort of thing happen 🥺 I love glitter skin so I’d be happy with either one but I can see why she’d look weird next to the others on display

If you read you can very clearly and plainly see that these are the sold listings that you’re trying to claim that I didn’t use. Or go search yourself and see that they do, in fact, sell for this.

Save to make sure you have money when they release or when they come up on eBay or somewhere else for cheap! Sometimes I find them thrifting! Just don’t give in to the first overpriced listing you find. Set a price you’re comfortable with paying and hunt until you find it

I am a reviewer and that puts me in a position where I can collect much more than would normally be possible. The point of the reviews and videos is to help the viewers decide if they actually want the product without needing to spend money to find out! Don’t ever feel like you need to keep up with anyone else’s collection!

Half of these I got second hand many years after release 😅 Annelise I got in 2021 on Facebook marketplace, Homura I got from Yahoo Japan auctions, AG number 4 from eBay in 2017(or 2018?), Aisha in 2017 from eBay.
I just saw a mutual sell the Draculaura for $200 the other day and I’ve found pinkie cooper dolls at thrift stores many times.
It’s not hopeless at all! Some are much less attainable if they’re limited but it does happen! I’ve seen many examples of people finding SDCC monster high dolls and Disney LE’s at thrift stores

The message of this is not to spend that much because you can wait and find a better deal. I don’t care about the value of them ultimately because I have them for my own enjoyment and not for resale

It’s funny, it seemed like a lot of collectors preferred the general release at the time! I think that’s why the general one remains expensive and the d23 isn’t that much more? Not sure how it is now, I personally just go for whichever is easier to get because they’re not usually different enough to me .
@@xCanadensis I think that's specially true of this release. The most notable difference is probably the tiara in the d23 version but that wouldn't be enough for me to try to get one over the other
I think she had a slightly nicer dress, hair tinsel and glitter skin… but people did NOTTTT like the glitter skin and tinsel so it keeps the wide release more expensive. It’s refreshing to finally see people care about their personal enjoyment of the doll rather than the rarity or value because LE doll spaces rarely have this sort of thing happen 🥺
I love glitter skin so I’d be happy with either one but I can see why she’d look weird next to the others on display
I got CA Cupid for $170 when she’s going for about $300+ on eBay. Absolutely wild the prices we are willing to pay for dolls.
