Loved this. My husband collects coins, and he found me some sterling silver beads at melt cost ($6 an ounce at the time) 🙂 I keep my sterling separate from my silver because it can be hard to differentiate between them. With coins you can hear the difference.
Great video. Would add that when buying finished components and finished jewelry, sterling silver and fine silver should be stamped ".975" and ".999" respectively. It used to be that "Tibetan" silver had a little precious metal in it, but now, it has none and is often lead and cadmium filled (toxic stuff). I am sorry that 10 yr old Allie did not know this.
I'm glad you made this, you left out German silver = nickel I learned people have an allergic reaction to most metals I just learned this, also I drink a lot of carbonated drinks so I wear cords, most of my knowledge is self-taught but I've been dormant my doings but now I'm here so far I'm not I don't have any reactions whew but I do what out for others this is who I am and that the pure the gold-silver it can get green with envy hehe
Great information👌 i wasted a lot of money before i knew about 925 so thanks for sharing. 👍💝

The empath in me wants to find you a sterling silver mood ring 😌 Thank you for this info on silver! And I loved your share from childhood 💕
You're welcome :)
I have to be careful with silver because I have allergies to some metals, particularly nickel. So I always check for silver purity.
What's the difference between silver coated, silver plated, silver fill? How will each of these wear?
Thank you 😊 ❤️
You’re welcome 😊
Thanks for the informative video. Do you know what silver colour craft wire is coated with if it doesn’t specify fine silver coating?
