      Your chapter "Humanitarian Crisis Yemen" was grossly inaccurate and blatantly anti-Saudi, and you literally only gave Houthi war crimes 1-2 sentences in that entire chapter.
      You failed to mention, when speaking of Saudi air strikes that were later found to have struck a hospital or a water plant, that the Houthis used these facilities as SNIPER positions; Amnesty International reported this. When the Houthis use water treatment facilities and hospitals as sniper positions, that is a war crime! It is a war crime because people being shot out don't know what kind of a building they are being shot at from, they just know that there are people shooting at them from that building and they have to be taken out before they kill or wound more of their side. You completely IGNORED reporting this and you, as an amateur historian who has such a huge audience who trust you to report the facts, I would think you would know better.

      2.) www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/yemen-war-houthi-rebels-hospitals-hodeidah-civilians-human-shields-amnesty-a8623981.html
      You also failed to talk about specifics of the blockade. You failed to mention that the Saudi's are only trying to prevent WEAPONS from getting into Saudi Arabia. You failed to report that the blockade is meant to stop weapons from getting into the country from Somalia that are being sent from Iran to MURDER and KILL more Yemeni's. You also failed to mention how the legitimate government of Yemen has authorized this because they don't want to see their citizens murdered by machine guns and AK-47's being to the Houthis by Iran through Somalia.
      1.) www.arabnews.com/node/1742621/middle-east
      2.) ruclips.net/video/cRWd4Avj-ik/видео.html
      Also, you mentioned that children are dying in record numbers in Yemen. You failed to mention why. It's because the Houthis are FORCING children into their Army, a war crime in itself, and planting landmines throughout the country, which are completely non-discriminatory or controllable weapons which kill indiscriminately, and STEALING the food aid sent to the country, starving any children that haven't been drafted.

      3.) www.yemenembassy.org/news/factsheet2/
      Did you mention how the Saudi coalition sends MILLIONS of dollars' worth of FOOD to Yemen to alleviate the crisis? You didn't say ONE WORD about it.
      1.) www.thenationalnews.com/gulf-news/saudi-arabia-donates-40-million-for-world-food-programme-in-yemen-1.1172074
      This video you posted was a failure to tell the full truth and point the finger at the actual responsible party for the crisis in Yemen, Iran and their Houthi puppets. As a long time viewer of your channel, I am disappointed in the quality of this video when it comes to telling the truth and revealing all the facts, and instead you hid some of the truth and failed to reveal all the facts. Disappointing.

    As a half Saudi visiting family here in the kingdom at the moment it’s crazy how little people know about the conflict or want to speak about it. I think the government is very insecure about the Shia influence from Iran particularly in the Hasa region of Saudi (the region with all the oil) which has a large Shia minority. The Saudi government sees the Arabian peninsula as its backyard like the US with the Monroe doctrine and when Iran started arming Shia militias (who many people sympathize with even though they recently committed war crimes too) it’s not hard to see why Saudi attacked when their desalination plants and oil reserves are under threat (without the oil Saudi would just be a joke among the international community). I actually have many Yemeni friends here in Saudi but they aren’t saying much about the conflict; however, it’s obvious they feel for their people that are suffering through such a messy war. Needless to say I condemn all war crimes especially Saudi airstrikes on hospitals and civilian areas and have had many arguments with friends and family over this.

    I have studied a minor in Middle Eastern Studies and this conflict is fascinating and complicated. In one hand, Yemen as a country is incapable of remaining united, it’s geography, cultures and poverty will forever tear it apart. On the other hand, Saudi Arabia is too afraid of having an unstable neighbor next to them, specially a Shia state friendly to Iran. The thought of a hostile state supplying weapons to Beduin desert tribes or bombing of their oil fields is basically a recipe to breakdown Saudi Arabia. Therefore, this conflict will not end until the Saudis run out of money.

    • @lfmsmka
      @lfmsmka 2 года назад +3

      nah It'll end when the Houthis are out but who knows what will happen with the two parts of Yemen after the war, cuz many in the south believe unification can't stay, only time will till

    • @spidyman8853
      @spidyman8853 2 года назад

      I only care about South Yemen. Let's hope the South resolves the Electricity issue that has been plaguing the city of Aden since the conflict kicked off in 2015.
      The Saudis supposedly are here to defeat the Houthis and war was meant to last no more than a few months however, ended up going for 7 years and is still going. What a complete farce.
      I just think the Saudis are either too pathetically feeble or just playing delay tactics to prolong the war and eventually want to control the whole of Yemen. Which obviously, would be in their dreams as the South has no interest in the continuation of this farcical unification.
      In Summery this whole war came about due to :-
      1. Poor unification between North and South Yemen. With the South now wanting their country back as former president Saleh reneged on the unification agreement which effectively caused a failure of the unification in 1994.
      2. Power craze former President Saleh wanting to control Yemen by himself and his family
      3. Iran pushing to get a power grip in the ME region
      So you see Yemen has many issues dating back to many years..............................

    Excellent video Hilbert very informative on an extremely complex topic.
    As an episode suggestion for your world War 2 series can you do a video about China's role during the Second World War. They had a very important but largely forgotten role in the war and they suffered some of the worst atrocities of the entire war and indeed of world history such as the rape of nanking in which Japanese troops raped up to 80 thousand women, savagely murdered babies, children and women and killed upwards of 300, 000 civilians and destroyed 1/3 of the entire city. I think a discussion of this would make an excellent episode shedding light on an event almost completely unknown of in the west.

      yemen was unified quite recently I'd say 60 years ago, then the south realized it aint working so they tried to split but they couldn't, anyways yeah I guess they will hundred percent spilt after this war if not they'll at least turn it into a federal state

    Alright video, wish it also highlighted the economic aspect of why the UAE and SA are so invested in this war since the natsec reasoning is more a smokescreen. I'd recommend Isa Blumi's lectures on YT or his book for the economic aspects of the war.

      In religious regions and religious countries, "religion" is a tool used by the Sultans/Kings and Royals to control the local populous, while the locals practice the religion the powerful and wealthy go out in lavish parties do things that are considered "haram" and get away with it by hiding it really well, because if scandals erupt then the islamic constitution will strip the royals from their royalty.
      This is not only in the middle east, but in Europe and Christian countries, religion is overall a tool
