great albums log is a channel that i started as a log of sorts. i wanted to talk about the music that i LOVE in a way that highlights each project's strengths and spreads positivity, while also keeping of record of the stuff I've been listening to! thus, great albums log was born!

I have to admit I’m a little bit jealous of you. It would be so amazing to have just discovered Los Campesinos! and hearing their catalog for the first time. I was lucky to find them early with the joyous “International Tweexcore Underground“ but I’ve also had to endure some droughts between albums. Have fun! This comment would be a mile long if I started listing my favorite songs, but two highlights for me: “The Sea Is A Good Place To Think Of The Future“, and BOTH the song AND video for “Avocado, Baby!“. So many more. And don’t forget their Christmas EP! It’s a staple in my house every December.
it has been so so incredible to dig through their whole discography, they are such a great group!! i’ll need to check out the video for avocado baby and their christmas ep too, i LOVE a good christmas project!!!

I first discovered Los Campesinos around a year ago now, and my favourite album is Romance Is Boring. To me it feels like it has such a mixture of tones and it covers so many interesting themes that even now I still find myself realizing new things about the lyrics, I would definitely recommend giving it a listen!
i LOVED romance is boring on first listen, i need to spin it a few more times and pick up on so many many more details, such a layered and gorgeous record

Same page as you. I had never listened to them until I gave this new album a listen, now I’m going through the catalog. Romance Is Boring is my the album I’m loving most rn

I found Los Campesinos! from the Pitchfork best of for 2007 while I was living in Guatemala. Since I didn't speak Spanish I had to ask people what that meant. They said it means rural people. Funny to discover a Welch band while in Guatemala with a Spanish name. I love that first album Hold On Now Youngster, with all the back and forth vocals from Alex & Gareth. I am also a huge fan of No Blues, especially As Lucerne/The Low. I only got to see this band once but I love them and their glockenspiel. They also have my favorite rant ever at the end of We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed. I wish I could have gotten a Doomed futbal jersey when they were selling them.

I only found loscamp in june of this year and I've already listened to their entire discography, got cds, merch and managed to catch one of their shows. I've never had a favorite band/artist before as I just listen to a select few songs and don't dive any deeper than that but loscamp stole my heart with their music. Everything about them is just phenomenal and I really hope more people find out about them and their music. It's been about a month since you posted this and I'm wondering if you've listened to any other albums, what are your favorites from those?
no they are just one of those groups that are so easy to fall in love with, and so easy to enjoy EVERYTHING they've released. i haven't gone through their whole discog yet but alongside All Hell, my favorite has to be We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed. the scrappy yet organized sound on cuts like the title cut, miserabilia, it's never that easy tho is it, or heart swells/pacific daylight time is SO great. im super excited to keep diggin thru their stuff tho!
I read this album as a tribute to the decline of Great Britain.
the vibe of this album reminds me of Cherry Ghost at its best.
i think it made it to top 15 of top40 albums in UK few weeks ago.

My personally favorite los campesinos! album is their 2nd album (and 2nd album from 2008) we are beautiful we are doomed.
There are a bunch of references to past albums in the lyrics of all hell that it's going to fun watch you discover
i definitely will need to relisten to we are beautiful we are doomed to try and find some of those lyrical connections that the band makes on all hell, loved we are beautiful though!
Saw em live in dc, they played psychic wound, feast of tongues kms and 0898 heartache. It was so fucking amazing
