I have that exact same drum set in the exact same heads in the exact same color. Nice video!

Those drums do sound good. My set is a ‘rock’ set, with deep toms. To tune these for jazz I remove the batter head entirely, and tune the clear Diplomat reso head to be in sync with the shell. Then I put the coated Ambassador batter on, and tune it so that it gets the most ‘open’ and resonant sound possible. The toms are 16 14 13 12 10, and coincidentally this process yields a major chord on these drums: G C E G C. My rock tuning uses the same process, but gets different results because then I’m using clear Emperor or Pinstripe heads.

The 10" Tom is a relatively modern size. I prefer the more traditional 12" tom

Why do people always associate small diameter drums to jazz, some of the big band jazz drummers used large drums

I think because of bebop. I tend to think that if you'd ask an average person who doesn't listen to any jazz (including all kinds of jazz sub-genres) to think about jazz, they will probably think about the sound of bebop. Since bebop has such a big impact on jazz musicians (and jazz listeners), it no surprise that a lot of people will make the association to a 'traditional' bebop drumset as oppose to big-band era drumsets (not to mention swing era drumsets).
Because of semantics and respecting different sub-genres, I intentionally said that this is a 'small bebop style drumset' at the beginning of the video.

Because this video pertains to bebop not Bigband
