Living in Prague, I have grown to love hockey through the Czech league and was able to watch my first British match in the flesh- Monday's defeat against Norway. My gut feeling was that the players were better than the result- you can be too modest and show your opponents too much respect. I though we looked good with the puck going forward, and needlessly gifted two of Norway's 5 goals. In the end, it was a very comfortable win against Austria- that in itself is a statement of the players' and coaching staff's qualities, team spirit and motivation. Let's get back in the elite group at the earliest opportunity.
Good performance to finish with! Shame they don’t do a playoff match to finish up for the teams in group a & b who don’t make the quarter final, to do final positions. E.g GB v Poland, Denmark v France, Norway v Kazakhstan etc
