Caterina, I haven't touched Mixed Media art since I was in Fine Art school. Your lessons are very inspiring, ART is so huge a subject, I keep turning over rocks, to find diamonds like you. Just by watching this lesson reminded me of my Sculpture teacher who also taught this mixed media class. Now I remember why Sculpture was my best subject, because in the same studio as sculpture, I felt like a child again just simply allowing myself to trust my intuition. In trusting this, my best work came to mind in the first instance. I believe along with Mixed Media opened the channels to paint and draw too with a heart filled with peace. Thanks for your lessons triggering my memory something important I lost. Today I am beginning again with the right tools and your lessons art essential daily reminders. Art flows when you are contented. 💕
Aubrey Finch Hi Aubrey... thanks for your beautiful and thoughtful comment.. Mixing media saved my art life.. and gave me a transfusion of inspiration.. I think in different ways and have opened to new creative ideas... I am delighted that you are enjoying our videos. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment and to let us know .. we so appreciate it! 😘
I really appreciate all the preparation you did before the video so you could move through the different techniques fairly quickly while still explaining them all thoroughly and doing the demos. Love the way you combine some of the techniques or add to them, you gave me lots of ideas and inspiration. Thanks so much!
Gay, it is just wonderful to hear that you understand all the prep work that takes place to make the videos. I really appreciate that and I appreciate your kind remarks. Thanks so much for viewing, I am so blessed to have such a kind viewing audience!
I love collage. These background ideas are inspiring and helpful for getting past the clean white page block. Thanks so much for sharing your techniques.
Your channel popped up on my recommended feed. I am always so happy to discover a new-to-me artist who has such a wonderful bounty of knowledge. Thank you for sharing! I am off to your watch another of our videos!
Hi Cat! I have used some of these techniques, but was happy to see some new ones that I hadn't tried. You make it all look very easy. I enjoy watching you and I love your use of "artist terms". lol
Hi Audrey, LOL, thanks so much, so glad you enjoyed it! I do seem to loose my words when I am working!! ha ha! but that is ok, you know what I mean!! xo
Hi Cat! I am a new subscriber, and I am very much enjoying your Mixed Media Background videos. As you are demonstrating these different techniques, it would be great to see how you apply the process in a completed piece of art. Thanks, Marlene
Hi Weenie, so glad you liked the blooper, and you are right .. it is very difficult!! So happy you enjoyed it and the techniques! thank you for watching!!
Found your videos recently and just love your techniques, papers, and colors. Question: what is Golden's glazing medium and how is it different from their gel medium? I use several of their products but I couldn’t distinguish between the two when you mentioned the glazing medium. Could you elaborate? Thanks. I’m a new subscriber and made a playlist just for your videos. 😘Thanks so much!
Janice Robinson Hi Janice! I am so happy you found our channel! Great question! Glazing medium is for mixing and thinning paint.. it allows a longer drying time and it can turn a paint into a glaze for finely shading. Gel Medium is used for adhering elements and it can create a great transfer. Thanks for being a new subbie! We so appreciate it! 😘
