I did a 500 mile ride a few weeks back I got half way and had to buy this headed jacket from a great shop In Maidstone. Absolutely game changer for riding. Would highly recommend to anyone who rides in the winter.
Well done to you two both, no matter what the challenge you two always seem to find the solution instead of giving up. That Heated stuff looks amazing I would love that
me and the wife have been using keis gear for a good few year as we are motorcycle instructors [in Scotland] and its an absolute game changer ,, sometimes i feel you might not realise how cold it rely is and don't have any heat in your tyre but amazing none the less , keep up the great videos , you guys have inspired me to do my own channel ,but its not easy and im shit lol . never mind i will just plug away , go you guys 👏
Its amazing kit, we are going to be wearing ours at every chance! Keep going with the channel, our first videos were terrible! Go and look! Its the same for Itchy boots and everyone else.
Excellent stuff. Me and a mate ride all year round here in South Wales (I have a 1100 Rebel DCT he has a Triumph Street Twin). However we only go out if its 10 degrees or above and if it looks its going to be dry (haha no chance in Wales). We don't go far and try and pick days when they haven't been gritting or salting the roads. The bikes sill get filthy but nothing that a good hose down the next day doesn't cure :)
Brilliant episode really cheered up a freezing day here. Totally agree with you about getting out and making the most of a day that you can ride. I ride all year but not in ice or snow. Looking forward to what ever you two get upto next. Stay safe and thanks for taking us along with you
Great vid guys.....good on you for grasping the moments to get out. Up here in the Highlands, we struggle to get out through winter, if its b=not ice or snow, it's the huge amounts of salt that the gritters lay down, destroys the bikes . Having said that we do manage a few days and always feels so good to get out there again.
because of you two, I've gotten my beautiful Orange triumph tiger 955i, a bunch of cheap camping gear! and I'm off. I'm not well off with money but I make do with what I have, travelled most of Southern Africa and now its time (after about 7-8 years or so) To get back on a bike and travel around Exeter and beyond!!!! Thank you for the motivation
I’ve just been sat watching you two cook sausages with a big smile on my face. Now I don’t know if because you was out cooking in Jan or you both mad. But thank you for doing it. I miss biking winter is to long. Roll on spring. Love you both
Keis gear is great. I have tiny hands and ordered a pair of the G701 gloves online as they don't sell them in Japan. I was really happy with the fit and performance. When I went back to see the family in the UK the year before last, I bought the J601 jacket. Next on the list are the socks. Winter here in my part of Japan is very mild and you could probably ride 11 months of the year, 12 if you're not a wimp like me. :D Keep up the hard work on the channel. I can see you two are really going for it. EDIT: I keep coming back to edit this comment 'cos you guys are cracking me up.
I know what you mean !! It’s certainly good for mental health to get out on the bike for a ride 👍🏼 I suffer from deep withdrawal symptoms if I can’t get out for a while 😐 those Sausage Baps really looked worth the trip out let alone the ride !!!! Good to see you out and about guys 👍🏼👍🏼
I have the Keis jacket & trousers on order and pick up on Sunday. I ride all year and fed up of being cold, signs of old age! For me riding my bike is my therapy and my happy place (second to the family of course 😂). Have been watching your channel for a while now and really enjoying your content. Well done Rich & Ewa, love ya bye!
We could well be in for the trousers too in time! This Keis Kit is so good!! Glad you have joined us here in the comments, Do chat to us from the videos we will always do our best to answer each comment
I just realized I have not been getting your notifications for ages, well sinse I came back to youtube after a long break. Definitely did not get the notification for this one or the other one where the bike would not start with suspected old fuel. Be careful on the Roads guys its gonna get icy next couple of days. Great to see you still posting and would also like to say hope you both have a happy and prosperous 2025
Winter does suck. I drove my bike in Canadian winter for a few years with the heated jacket. The first winter I plugged it directly into to the batter and it cooked myself so the following couple of winters, I had a temperature controller to regulate how warm I got. I was the only bike on the road and got a lot of thumbs up from people (probably because they thought I was nuts). After a big crash last summer that shook my confidence, I decided to be a normal Canuck and store the Honda for the winter and watch other people ride on RUclips.
Well, I’m afraid I am not feeling the need to go moto camping. However, I am thoroughly enjoying watching you two do it, you’re doing my share too. Keep it up! I’ll never forget your first video of Rich camping, it had me in stitches. About 1 degrees C is my limit, and not when there’s any risk of ice - was out at the weekend in 1 degrees with my wonderful Keis.
Yes we will always remember that first camping Trip! We learnt allot that day... Same story, Buy Cheap and youll buy twice! Good kit no matter what it is, Really is the difference between having a good time or Not.
Brilliant you two, stiff upper lip solves everything. Like the cooker, small enough to carry easily, and the tank bag is also interesting, look forward to a longer term review. Ride safe
Well done guys , I absolutely love my Keis heated jacket it is a total game changer , along with my Merlin heated gloves 👌🏼 , I was a bit sceptical about that little cooker at 1st but seemed to be adequate enough 👍🏼 nice review , go steady out there 😁
Nice place you two live, here in Wales it has been very cold and snow. Lovely little stove, you have there and nice to see you enjoying yourself, both keep safe ❤
All year round rider here. I only stop on the days when it is actually icy underfoot on the road. been riding nealry 40 years and II would say that starting to use heated gear about 20 yeqrs ago was the single biggest thing that made a massive very positive difference to riding - at a stroke it renders the weather conditions virtually irrelevant - I was out today in minus 3 and was totally comfortable - and therefore much safer.
I’m up in Cairngorms. My season ends when they start putting salt down on the roads so that’s usually October and can last through until May. Even with washing the bikes afterwards, road salt gets into places you just can’t reach. Makes for a very short season. Most of the bikes I see out in winter up this way are on PCP, so rusty parts aren’t really a concern long term as they are getting handed back.
@ Yeah I do. The routine at end of October is SORN bike, polish and service ready for next year. It is stunning up here yeah, some of the best roads that people go mad for are on my doorstep. Heading to Spain for 3 days Enduro on Sunday so I’ll get my bike fix then! Another great video, fair play to you both for getting out. No doubt you’ll both be reaching for your passports soon!
@@ontheroadadventure Yeah good friend of mine runs Spanish Enduro Trails, full fleet of Beta enduros, also started an adventure business with 8 Tenere 700s. I just jump on a plane with hand luggage. Eazy Peazy.
"Forgot it is winter". You don't even have snow, you lucky UK-people! Got several centimeter of ice on the road here in Sweden. Spring can't come soon enough.
Some great new motorcycle gear you have there, it really does pay to have good quality stuff that will last you years. Thanks for keeping the videos coming, it must be hard this time of year
Hi Eva and Rich. I have the keis jacket and gloves. They are a game changer. I ride most days to work unless it's icy on the roads. Thanks as always for you great vids. I enjoy every one. Keep up the great work. You guys are the best.
I've said it before.... use a heat shield around the stove and you'll cook faster and use less gas. I'm an all year round rider, but not camper. The Dragon Rally or the Elephant Rally in Germany really don't appeal that much... more the wet and mud than the cold, but I can live without both. I have Keis inner gloves and a Gerbing jacket. Both are excellent but I do love the gloves, as you just don't get cold hands.
Your thoughts reflect our own on the wet mud camping… we did think when we were out the wind shield would have been good but it was a bit impromptu due to a gap in the rain
Hello you 2....just watched your two crazy people having a sausage buttie outside .....I commute everyday..going over Saddleworth Moor from Yorkshire to Lancashire which is open moorland..the only thing that stops me is snow and ice...I am currently grounded and I am having to get trains to work......I have Keis heated gloves and they are a game changer.... Keep being awesome!! Love you bye 👋
Yes the moors will defo be a No go area right now, Better safe than sorry bud. Thats a nice route to work though to get to ride each day! Great to have you with us, see you in the next one, Love you bye!
I have the lone rider tank bag too. Its a great bit of kit. I also have the rackless panniers and the moto tent. On the heated gear, i use warm n safe brand, i have the heated socks, trousers, jacket and inner gloves. Its not cheap but well worth it, super warm throughout. Great video guys!
You 2 are so inspirational and absolutely work so well together, your content is so watchable and I've recently moved from a Harley Deluxe to a. Triumph Tiger 900 adventure bike, and watching your vids, makes me really excited for my new Adventures ahead. My first adventure bike in 40 years of riding, so a whole new learning curve, but every video I watch, the more excited I get to ride my Tiger over uk and maybe even a short European trip..!!! Keep inspiring people and keep safe and keep keeping it real tk care u 2
That’s awesome we are well chuffed for you, the tiger is a fantastic choice for touring and adventure travels, spend the winter getting yourself set with good kit and you’ll be away on the bike all the time having the time of your life
@ontheroadadventure yes I hope so reg, I've mostly been a dry weather biker over the years, so new bike and riding in dodgy weather is a big learning curve...!!! I will get there I've done 1,300 miles on the Tiger in last 3 months so I'm getting out , but Jan and Feb will stay in garage then back out end Feb march for my new Adventures. Cheers
These modern bikes have more electronics than you or I can understand, i wouldnt worry too much about riding in the wet etc, You have Traction control and Lean sensitive ABS and all sorts on that one, Enjoy it to the max
Well done for getting out on your bikes 🏍. I haven't been out for a week or so. I do go put on my Tigger whenever I have time out. I won't ride when there is ice on the roads. I also have the Keis heated gloves, with the battery pack. I also have the option of plugging the gloves in. The advantages to the batteries. You can warm your hands before Rife off. I have had my gloves for two years, and they are amazing. I am looking forward to my holiday in March, when I celebrate my big 60, and I am hoping to head off camping with my tiger. I live in a flat and I have to get out as much as possible. I intend to continue biking as long as I can.
@@ontheroadadventureNot yet but I might give it a go,took the drone to Llandudno today but didn't put it up because It was so cold I didn't want to take my gloves off to operate it 😂 fantastic ride out though with the top of the Orme and Snowdonia pure white 😊
I’ve had Gerbing heated gear for eight years. A game changer. My mate has Keis stuff and nothing to choose between them as far as I can tell. I ride all year except ice and where possible salted roads which obviously rot my pride and joy.
You have definitely inspired us. We've recently had our new VFR 1200 Crosstourer delivered for our adventures this year. Loads of tips from you guys with carring and storage solutions, Been so helpful, thankyou. Love the channel. We hope to bump into you guys on our adventures 👌
I rode all year round for over 30 years, I stil ride in the winter but I choose when. You should try the dragon rally, nowadays they have toilets and showers, that rally has been going since the 70's. great video many thanks.l
Glad to see you’re still riding, I ride almost every day have done since I was 16 and I’m 63 now , if it’s extremely icy I give it a miss as I don’t bounce well anymore 🤣 Had some of my best rides in winter as roads and places seem quieter. Still loving your channel down to earth awesomeness 🏍️
I use Gerbing heated clothing which is very good. I've got the gloves, full inner jacket and the socks. If you love your gloves and inner jacket, you'll love the socks! Used to commute into London from Hertfordshire in all weathers and temperatures but the line was drawn at snow, although I was caught out on a couple of occasions on the commute home. These days my limit is nothing below 3c because of ice and I no longer have to, not the cold.
Well done guys for getting out in the crap weather , I don’t think I should really want a sausage sandwich at 9.30 at night but I do 😂 as soon as I get chance I will be out on my Africa twin as well.
Good to see you two out having fun, we've got a couple of inches of snow and everything is frozen where we live so the bikes staying dry in the garage. We treated ourselves to Keis jackets and they are brilliant, make such a difference.
I think leaving them in the garage is wise when the road is Icy, Have you been tempted to add the gloves aswell? From our short test it seems the best thing since sliced bread
@ontheroadadventure oddly enough I have a pair on the way, I managed to pick them up on ebay for a lot less than brand new, looking forward to trying them out 😀
You two set the standard for other bickers to follow, get off their backsides, get out there & enjoy the experience, cook dinner 🥘 well a snack to keep you happy & warm inside😂 if I could I would follow you guys and enjoy the experience and not to be put off typical British weather 🇬🇧 love you bye😊
Just got some Keis gloves out of my Xmas money, they are brilliant FairPlay no more white finger while riding. Jacket be next investment 👍🏼 love watching your adventures guys 👌🏼
You've just reminded me why I always buy the thinner sausages... They cook quicker, but even the thick ones need some butter melting into that bap...delicious 😊 😋
Yes you should go and wild camp you two would love it. Just because the weather isnt great is irrelevant. Bite the bullet and do it. Brown sauce with sausages.
Hi Guys, I have the Keis jacket and gloves and along with my heated grips and heated seat it does keep you nice and toastie. i will ride in the winter as long as there is no salt on the ground. the last time i was out on the bike was in December when i had to go to the Triumph dealer for a recall and i got a new rear tyre. Since then the weather here has been crap. Those sausages do look nice.
I do miss a heated seat! Both our old Triumphs had them but not on the Twins. The heated kit though is going to keep us riding all winter im sure of it....
The tank bag looks good, and the rubber pads will protect the paint, but the webbing straps will get wet and hold grit etc, so anywhere they rub over will scratch. Not a problem if you're not over-precious.
Perhaps i will get some clear PPF and put there to stop it rubbing just in case. It feels like a really nice quality product, very impressed with the Lone Rider Bag
@@ontheroadadventure Nice looking tankbag but no clear panel on the lid with side access to put directions in and/or passport. Clear top panels seem a thing of the past these days?
Motorcycle was my only mode of transport for over 15 years.. But now I have a car too, I must say, I do less and less rain riding... Cold is not an issue, I don't particularly like wet riding, never have.. I live in the Netherlands, so last few weeks I haven't been riding much.. lots of rain, sometimes snow or hail.. I did snow riding in the past.. but I really hate how cagers just ride your rear tire if you take it a bit slow in a corner, because you can't lean as much... Like, if I do slide and fall now, there is not a single tire of your car that's going to not go over me, close... So I'm perfectly capable of doing it, yet in those conditions, these days, I'd rather be in a car (since I now finally have one, I could never really afford to have both).. But because my daily commute is past Amsterdam, any chance I get to not be stuck for hours driving from or to work, I will take.. So freezing on a dry day.. bike it is... I have no heated gear, and first day of frost of the year kinda caught me of guard... I had to work late and the night was going to be freezing.. And I just had my summer gloves, because in the afternoon when I started it was still well in the plus... I definitely remembered vividly what it was like throwing snowballs, for an hour, without gloves, as a kid. I had to stop halfway at a gasstation to defrost my hands.. But I'm also definitely looking at heated gloves right now... because I have a decently long commute even without traffic.. But still short enough to get away with battery powered heated gloves.. I don't like having wires from me to the bike.. I know they come loose if they need to, but I don't like it.. But I think I buy them in a spring sale somewhere.. for next year..
Once you try some heated gloves, you'll never go without again! We really enjoy riding in the Netherlands, but we know what you mean about Amsterdam, All cities are the same, never great on a bike but as you say its so much quicker to go by the traffic... Risk vs Reward
I used to commute to work in all weathers but am more choosy now. I do ride all year and was out the week before Christmas but since then snow and ice with a constant temperature below zero and that’s -5 to -8 in the night has meant no riding. I live at the top of a hill on the edge of a forest and the road down is and has been black ice for the last few weeks, on the drive there’s still hard packed snow, roll on springtime.
Well - you got your wish - A30/A38/A380 Haldon Hill, Bodmnin and Princetown have plenty of "that white stuff" and as usual for the bbc news - plenty of local drivers are stuck in traffic and 'surprised' that the weather warnings were accurate! As usual I will wait for dryer winter days and now we have heavy rain at lower levels, rather than the snow, it does clear plenty of road salt.
In the early 90s I commuted 70 miles per day, in all weathers. A Gerbing jacket and gloves helped a lot in the winter. I still have the jacket. To be honest, I don't ride much in January and February these days, even though I don't drive a car.
I don't have a car licence, just a bike one. Today I had to come to work on the train. I work night shift. The car park at work this morning was covered with a thin sheet of snow with lots of patches of ice underneath. I managed to ride my vfr800fi out of the car park. On the way home I'm going down a slope that was just sheer ice with my feet skimming the floor and ready to try and catch the bike. And a car pulled out in front of me.😮 I could only use my front break to slow me down which I really didn't want to be touching at all Thankfully all went OK. That was my cut off point. 😂 But as soon as a bit of rain shifts the ice I'll be back out on the two wheels. ✌️
Wow Glad to hear you got away with that one! Best leave the bike at home whilst its so cold bud, better to wait and ride another day than damage the bike or yourself....
Have you ever come across RidgeMonkey gear? It's a mixture of fishing gear and camping stove type equipment. Nothing specifically to do with motorbikes but they do do a portable stove and griddle thing that you use with a camping gas burner. I guess it's so that you can catch your fish and then grill it and eat it, but truck drivers who live out on the road are particularly keen on one of their stoves which folds shut so that you can toss your omelettes and stuff like that. I bought one years ago and it's still sitting in my kitchen cupboard, unused because I found I couldn't handle life on the road.
YES! We love our Ridge monkey, So much we actually not only take it camping but we use it at home as well the Non stick on it is really good! You should use it in your home kitchen
Ive done over a million miles in 20+ countries and 10yrs as a dispatch rider the UK winter sucks, it takes 4 winters to get used to the cold, took my gs to darts farm 6yrs ago only down the road
@ontheroadadventure bering, or hein gerrik, was the best, keeping wind out is key, NOTHING is 100% waterproof, quality and layers is the key, another trick when waiting at lights etc hang your arms down let blood flow to finger tips, ps 3 long blasts ont a whistle is international distress call for im in trouble
Excellent effort. Bangers in the open air takes some beating. Definitely HP, too. If you want cold camping look up 'Elefant Treffen,'. In Bavaria every winter, and beyond cold. A real endurance test. Ride safe 👍
Yes i think Staying inside is smart when its this cold. Having said that Some of the camping kit is suppose to be upto the job Even in minus conditions..
@ontheroadadventure Central Missouri, just a few miles north of route 66. Crazy thing is it's cold as tits in winter and hot as f*ck in the summer. Going from this to Thailand in February is gonna be a shocker.
Oh yes, But in Thailand youll be surprised how quickly you will adapt to the heat. It was unbearable for us at first but after a short time you forget its hot
ive booked the ferry to France in Summer heading to German black foreset.I already do wild camping in the UK so planning to find places in France in forests to camp on the way.
@@ontheroadadventure after being in the military for 24 years you either like or loath it. I'm afraid I'm the later. Sorry but creature comforts for me. loveyoubye
@ontheroadadventure was definitely thankful of mine, had 3 days up in the Yorkshire dales between crimbo and new year's...... Only thing I found is you forget how cold it is, till ya get off the bike and slip on some ice... 😬😬
Minus 7 in Fife in Scotland right now so definitely not out in the salt and grit! Thankfully no snow like the rest of the country but absolutely Baltic!
It wasnt too bad for us when we filmed this yesterday in Devon but things have got much worse here now with Snow and Ice so we wont be riding anywhere for a bit.. Which is a shame because we are loving the luxury of the heated gear!
Until recently I rode all year round in temperatures from +40°C to -21°C including snow and some light ice even though I absolutely detest the cold. It was a little _interesting_ at times. I used to be a dispatch rider in London in the dim and distance past, so I am used to poor road conditions. 🤔🤣 This year, as I am getting on a bit, I bought heated gloves (battery) from Merlin Bike Gear near Stansted - their kit is great but their website is utter pants, unfortunately. Very impressed as the batteries last well over 4 hours on medium setting (high is about 2½ hours, not run out on low setting yet, so don't know!).
Ewa baps look amazing😍 😂, Gs rider all year around with my 4 year old Keis heated apparel, but same as you dont do ice,ice baby or road salt, But need to ride to keep my sanity 👍
Really need gloves on inside of your sleeves if it rains. Stops rain running in which I learnt hard way being lazy lol. Use gerbing stuff myself ridden in snow before now.
Great video. Glad you made it out. Last year I pulled the trigger on a Keis ultraflex jacket. Absolute game changer. Today was so cold I had it on the high setting - toasty warm. That lone rider luggage is rather pricey though. Are you going to get their motobags too?
Hello Ewa and Rich I ride All year round , The Only time i Dont take the Bike out is when its either Icy or Frosty . A couple of Years ago i was going to work 40 Mile round trip in the snow and got flagged Down by a Guy in a Land Rover Discovery , He told me he was Stuck and could i give him a Push (He was on a Flat part of road ? ) I told him to put it into 4 Low as i Only have One wheel drive and rode on Lol
Its great because its small enough to carry with us even in a crash bar bag etc... We like to cook when we are out on a ride sometimes so this little one is ideal
These are very good, i think there are multiple models of gloves though, i cant tell you what the differences are, But im glad you found some you love, its a real game changer
Well at least you are in u.k. I'm in Winnipeg, mb, Canada. Plus your eating English sausages. Very limited on sausages in Canada..and not far from Clevedon, the place we left 48 yrs ago...
Great vid again guys please can you let me know how you get on with the heated gear as looking at it now just trying to work out if I can power up two lots of jackets and gloves off of one bike for me and the misses stay safe
Will do, I’m pretty sure you can do two sets on one bike I know of a couple on a tiger 900 that do this, best advice is email keiss or Motohaus powersports who deal with them in the uk
Just catching up on your vids as been away , so slightly off topic from this one , could you or are you gonna go a vid on the cost break down of you Thailand trip ? I thought that was a great series
Thanks Ian, Great to have you with us. I dont think we will do that as a video, we didnt really keep records of what we spent on each thing but suffice to say it is very cheap there. Our Bikes cost £200 for one month both Scooters, Hotels went from £10-£30pn night and food is what you want to be...as much or as little as you like
No thats our Coffee maker from Outin, One of our favourite things to use. You can see them here, we get you 10% off too Link:outin.com/ROAD10 Code: ROAD10
As soon as the council start slinging salt all over the place that's when I tuck the bike up for the winter, I don't want rusty fasteners, shocks, forks and nasty corrosive grot in all those little nooks and crannies. When you start getting the soft luggage can you look at the security of it for us? I went for hard, lockable luggage so I can park up and go for a walk without having to worry about people dipping into my bags or whipping them away but soft luggage would be more practical so I'd be interested to see how you find it from that regard.
Hard luggage isnt as secure as you think. Most boxes can be pulled off if you go at it with aggression, failing that breaking them open is not a difficult thing to do. My point here is if they want it, they will have it... We have also thought long and hard on this and is a concern for us too but our plan is to put our valuable stuff in the top bag which you can easily remove and carry with you, leaving behind your clothes and tent, things you can replace easily if need be.
My heart ❤️ goes out to people that have to use to wheel's in the winter, on Facebook shorts, just sore a fella on a CBR 1000 hit ice hopefully not to expensive 🫰
Yes your not wrong, those Delivery drivers on mopeds get it hard this time of year too. They cant afford to take the safe option and stay home when conditions get bad
Kiess heated jacket n gloves is THEEEE best kit ive ever bought ! Rich, RED SAUCE ! ALWAYS ! lol😅, tank bag looks really good might have to look at one.by the way what b camera are you using ?,not the gopro anymore .

Welcome back! Hit the bell icon and you get told when w e upload new videos 👍
I think Canadian winters are a different game to what we have here. Ride safe bud we will try to keep you entertained until the sun comes out again
@@ontheroadadventurethanks bud
Ride safe
Cheers Dave, Yep we intend to ignore winter and push on through! We will do a proper review of the kit in time once we have used it for a while
The ABR is definitely the one you need to do , heated gear is the only way to enjoy winter riding stay safe 🙏
Yes we are hearing that about ABR....
Well done guys , I absolutely love my Keis heated jacket it is a total game changer , along with my Merlin heated gloves 👌🏼 , I was a bit sceptical about that little cooker at 1st but seemed to be adequate enough 👍🏼 nice review , go steady out there 😁
Yes it surprised us too, we didn’t think it would be up to it but it does get really hot
Reckon that was a win win guys my mouth was watering looking at those sausages. Yumo
Pork and cider! 👌
@ontheroadadventure bloody delicious!!!
Nice place you two live, here in Wales it has been very cold and snow. Lovely little stove, you have there and nice to see you enjoying yourself, both keep safe ❤
Thanks so much, we are all lucky in our own way n the uk, Its so easy to stop appreciating whats on our own Doorsteps.
I had no idea Heated kit has been around that long? I can see its one of those things that once you discover there no going back!
@@ontheroadadventure its been around since at least the 70's mate! 👍
Who knew! Is like the whistle on my knife! Only obvious once you know lol
Ah yes, different conditions for you up there in the winter. But Stunning to ride there in the summer. Do you Ceramic coat your bikes?
@ Yeah I do. The routine at end of October is SORN bike, polish and service ready for next year. It is stunning up here yeah, some of the best roads that people go mad for are on my doorstep.
Heading to Spain for 3 days Enduro on Sunday so I’ll get my bike fix then!
Another great video, fair play to you both for getting out. No doubt you’ll both be reaching for your passports soon!
Are you doing Fly and hire to Spain? We have considered going to spain now too but the Ferry is so expensive it puts you off
@@ontheroadadventure Yeah good friend of mine runs Spanish Enduro Trails, full fleet of Beta enduros, also started an adventure business with 8 Tenere 700s. I just jump on a plane with hand luggage. Eazy Peazy.
Whats the name of his business? Is it a mission from the airport to the bikes?
(7:40) that's the biggest thing, I'm going to miss, is the heated seats and grips on the Goldwing
We had heated seats on our last bikes but we son forgot about it once we got the new bikes.. Its nice to have but not the end of the world...
"Forgot it is winter". You don't even have snow, you lucky UK-people! Got several centimeter of ice on the road here in Sweden. Spring can't come soon enough.
Sorry bud, you guys get it bad there! We reckon if it was dry but snowing we could camp in it! But its the Relentless rain that we hate
@@ontheroadadventure Indeed, the wet makes things miserable. Anyhow, thanks for the content, makes waiting for spring more bearable :)
Your so welcome, Thanks for being with us
Some great new motorcycle gear you have there, it really does pay to have good quality stuff that will last you years. Thanks for keeping the videos coming, it must be hard this time of year
Thanks for your support, Yes we can be confident this kit will keep us on the road for some time to come
Hi Eva and Rich. I have the keis jacket and gloves. They are a game changer. I ride most days to work unless it's icy on the roads. Thanks as always for you great vids. I enjoy every one. Keep up the great work. You guys are the best.
Thanks so much for being with us, ride safe bud
I've said it before.... use a heat shield around the stove and you'll cook faster and use less gas. I'm an all year round rider, but not camper. The Dragon Rally or the Elephant Rally in Germany really don't appeal that much... more the wet and mud than the cold, but I can live without both. I have Keis inner gloves and a Gerbing jacket. Both are excellent but I do love the gloves, as you just don't get cold hands.
Your thoughts reflect our own on the wet mud camping… we did think when we were out the wind shield would have been good but it was a bit impromptu due to a gap in the rain
Brilliant guys. You just made my day. I got out twice over the holidays. Great to clear head.
It is hard this time of year but any excuse you get to go out on the bike you just take
Great to see you just taking the bikes out no matter the weather.
Thanks, this heated kit will defo help us with that... We cant bare to stay home
@ontheroadadventure no I understand the walls look the same always 😉
Yep, Change of scenery does us all good
Hello you 2....just watched your two crazy people having a sausage buttie outside .....I commute everyday..going over Saddleworth Moor from Yorkshire to Lancashire which is open moorland..the only thing that stops me is snow and ice...I am currently grounded and I am having to get trains to work......I have Keis heated gloves and they are a game changer....
We are loving the quality of the Lone Rider Bag, they are working on some new ADV bags, we are hanging on to see how they work out
Absolutely brilliant.

@ontheroadadventure cheers , gonna try. Oh I ist remembered, I must get one of your Tee shirts
Fair play to you bud, it’s amazing how good getting out for a ride makes you feel 👍
Brilliant,I'm the same as you two the only time I won't go out is when it's icy
Better to be safe than sorry. Have you tried this Heated Clothing yet?

Oh thats a shame i bet you would of had beautiful footage
loving being part of your journey... will you get me camping absolurely not lol but i admire your perserverance

Dragon rally can be rough but good bar. Usually clean portaloos. Good bands and bar. Can be awful weather but would make a good episode
Not sure we can be tempted for that one.. we will see
I’ve had Gerbing heated gear for eight years. A game changer. My mate has Keis stuff and nothing to choose between them as far as I can tell. I ride all year except ice and where possible salted roads which obviously rot my pride and joy.
Do you ceramic coat your bikes? It will protect it from the corrosion from salt. The Heated gear is a game changer for us, We love it!
You have definitely inspired us. We've recently had our new VFR 1200 Crosstourer delivered for our adventures this year. Loads of tips from you guys with carring and storage solutions, Been so helpful, thankyou. Love the channel. We hope to bump into you guys on our adventures 👌
That’s awesome! Great choice of bike too! Well chuffed for you both
I rode all year round for over 30 years, I stil ride in the winter but I choose when. You should try the dragon rally, nowadays they have toilets and showers, that rally has been going since the 70's. great video many thanks.l
Who knows if its not Raining the whole week before we may go..
I have the Keis heated gloves, couldn’t be without them at winter!
We can confirm they are amazing for winter riding. Anything that keeps us on the road is good by us!
I think I’m like you guys. Definitely no riding when ice hits the ground. I don’t mind a bit of rain, however.
Better safe than sorry...
Glad to see you’re still riding, I ride almost every day have done since I was 16 and I’m 63 now , if it’s extremely icy I give it a miss as I don’t bounce well anymore 🤣
Had some of my best rides in winter as roads and places seem quieter. Still loving your channel down to earth awesomeness 🏍️
We do like a challenge but as soon as ice shows up it’s time to sit and wait it out…
Hi guys hi have keis heated socks jacket and gloves and i can honestly say it is a game changer for riding in the winter.
We can defo see why people end up buying the whole kit! Its an amazing feeling wearing the Keis stuff
I can quickly see us getting the whole set too!
I've got the Gerbing gloves with the rechargeable batteries and they have been game changers for me :)
Well done guys for getting out in the crap weather , I don’t think I should really want a sausage sandwich at 9.30 at night but I do 😂 as soon as I get chance I will be out on my Africa twin as well.
haha Theres No bad time, or weather it seems for a sausage sammich!
@ontheroadadventure oddly enough I have a pair on the way, I managed to pick them up on ebay for a lot less than brand new, looking forward to trying them out 😀
Your in for a treat
@ontheroadadventure I'll let you know what I think when the ice has disappeared, I need a snowmobile not a VFR at the moment 😆
Glad ur back. Was those sausages nice? Stay safe-Be well.
Oh yes, pork and cider! It’s the simple things… 😃
Thanks so much Andy, We just love to do it, any excuse to get outside and ride and we are there!
Just got some Keis gloves out of my Xmas money, they are brilliant FairPlay no more white finger while riding. Jacket be next investment 👍🏼 love watching your adventures guys 👌🏼
Its a slippery slope once you got keis heated kit... Starts with gloves.. Youll be head to toe in it by next winter lol
Blasting on a whistle is the emergency call for help while in mountains or walking, I think it's either 3 or 6 blasts.
A Handy thing, its amazing neither of us noticed in all the months of using the knife daily whilst moto camping!
love the mini BBQ in winter!
The simple things are the best 👍
You've just reminded me why I always buy the thinner sausages... They cook quicker, but even the thick ones need some butter melting into that bap...delicious 😊 😋
Butter would be solid in this weather lol Your not wrong though!
@ontheroadadventure sizzling sausages would soon have it mouthwateringly melting 🫠
We Must try harder!
Yes you should go and wild camp you two would love it. Just because the weather isnt great is irrelevant. Bite the bullet and do it. Brown sauce with sausages.
Cold is fine, but the ground is just boggy right now, will have to wait until it stops raining for a few days at least..
Those jackets could be an idea! Plugged in heat! Went out couple of weeks ago and it was painful! Even layered up !!
We are in love with the Keis kit
Yeah i think they were map pockets but not many use a paper map anymore, Satnav is the brains thesedays
Yeah sound like your making the right choice not to ride right now, hopefully the sun will be out soon!
Yes we saw a little snow today in Devon, it always amazes Ewa being from Poland just how little snow it takes to cause chaos here!
In the early 90s I commuted 70 miles per day, in all weathers. A Gerbing jacket and gloves helped a lot in the winter. I still have the jacket.
To be honest, I don't ride much in January and February these days, even though I don't drive a car.
Now thats good value if you can still use the Jacket! Good kit lasts the test of time
I don't have a car licence, just a bike one. And a car pulled out in front of me.😮 I could only use my front break to slow me down which I really didn't want to be touching at all
Thankfully all went OK.
What kit did you use for your winter riding?
@ontheroadadventure bering, or hein gerrik, was the best, keeping wind out is key, NOTHING is 100% waterproof, quality and layers is the key, another trick when waiting at lights etc hang your arms down let blood flow to finger tips, ps 3 long blasts ont a whistle is international distress call for im in trouble
I have to agree about nothing being waterproof, others will tell you different but in my experience like you, layers is the best option
Excellent effort. Bangers in the open air takes some beating.
Definitely HP, too.
If you want cold camping look up 'Elefant Treffen,'.
In Bavaria every winter, and beyond cold. A real endurance test.
Ride safe 👍
If theres not Warm Showers before bed im not interested lol
Nice gear 👍
Thanks, have you tried any heated gear?
I tend to go glamping during January and February or daily rent apartments or caravans but mostly mid week I am fortunate as I am retired
Yes i think Staying inside is smart when its this cold. Having said that Some of the camping kit is suppose to be upto the job Even in minus conditions..
I have the lone rider mini ranger tank bag on my CB500X, also I use SW-Motech Sysbag WP good quality items
The Lone Rider kit looks amazing, They have a new set of Soft panniers coming out soon, im sure they will be excellent quality too
The Dragon Rally is fun, I'm off again this year, I'm lucky in that I live on Anglesey so always close to the site chosen.
We dont mind the ride, or cold so much but i dont fancy being covered in mud on a wet field with no Hot showers...

Actually I would like heated gear. It's 12°f (-11c) here now.
-11?!! Where are you from? Surely you cant ride in that?
@ontheroadadventure Central Missouri, just a few miles north of route 66. Crazy thing is it's cold as tits in winter and hot as f*ck in the summer. Going from this to Thailand in February is gonna be a shocker.
Oh yes, But in Thailand youll be surprised how quickly you will adapt to the heat. It was unbearable for us at first but after a short time you forget its hot

@ certainly is a shock after Thailand I bet!
At least when I got back from Thailand it was April time so the season was just starting.
Yes its been a bit of a change, but we always find a way to adapt and overcome..
Until recently I rode all year round in temperatures from +40°C to -21°C including snow and some light ice even though I absolutely detest the cold. It was a little _interesting_ at times. I used to be a dispatch rider in London in the dim and distance past, so I am used to poor road conditions. 🤔🤣
This year, as I am getting on a bit, I bought heated gloves (battery) from Merlin Bike Gear near Stansted - their kit is great but their website is utter pants, unfortunately. Very impressed as the batteries last well over 4 hours on medium setting (high is about 2½ hours, not run out on low setting yet, so don't know!).
Once you try heated gloves there is no going back!
Ewa baps look amazing😍 😂, Gs rider all year around with my 4 year old Keis heated apparel, but same as you dont do ice,ice baby or road salt, But need to ride to keep my sanity 👍
Its funny allot of us bikers feel like we Need to ride... Its compulsory no matter the weather!
Really need gloves on inside of your sleeves if it rains. Stops rain running in which I learnt hard way being lazy lol. Use gerbing stuff myself ridden in snow before now.
Thats good advice bud, we will do that next time
Rest day rider did dragon rally last year looked interesting. Maybe you should have a camping weekend meet up sure ypu would have interest
Yeah we have seen those videos.... Im sure we will do a camping weekend this year
Great video. Glad you made it out. Last year I pulled the trigger on a Keis ultraflex jacket. Absolute game changer. Today was so cold I had it on the high setting - toasty warm. That lone rider luggage is rather pricey though. Are you going to get their motobags too?
Yes both things are the best quality but it never pays to get the cheapest options. We are looking at soft luggage options
Wow lol Goes to show.... All the gear and no idea lol
The knife probably has a whistle as it can be used for sailing, The whistle would be used to attract attention in an emergency!.🏴
Youd have thought we would have noticed it in all this time we been using it for motorcycle camping!
That grill looks like the business
Its great because its small enough to carry with us even in a crash bar bag etc... We like to cook when we are out on a ride sometimes so this little one is ideal
Tried Keis but found the gloves didn’t warm the tips of my fingers which is where I find the cold is painful. Went to Gerbing gear instead , all good.

Will do, I’m pretty sure you can do two sets on one bike I know of a couple on a tiger 900 that do this, best advice is email keiss or Motohaus powersports who deal with them in the uk
The Dragon Rally is one night only so the need for showers is academic as it's only 24hrs. There are still tickets guys!
Its fine if its not a mud fest...
U start video in keis gear ,end with Oxford jacket, just wondering.keep up the good work.Martin Thailand 😎
The Keis heated jacket is not protective so you wear it under your normal motorcycle jacket 👍
Thanks for that 🙏
No problem bud, anytime
Just catching up on your vids as been away , so slightly off topic from this one , could you or are you gonna go a vid on the cost break down of you Thailand trip ? I thought that was a great series
Thanks Ian, Great to have you with us. I dont think we will do that as a video, we didnt really keep records of what we spent on each thing but suffice to say it is very cheap there. Our Bikes cost £200 for one month both Scooters, Hotels went from £10-£30pn night and food is what you want to be...as much or as little as you like
I'm watching you make the coffee. Is that a thermos coffee flask, if so where did you get it from. It's awesome.
No thats our Coffee maker from Outin, One of our favourite things to use. You can see them here, we get you 10% off too

much prefer tank bags that fit with tank ring style much less fafffing about especially when re fueling
The clips on these can be undone with one hand, so far it’s not been a bother
Excellent idea, ride and cook !
Do you just bag up the dirty cookware and bring home to clean ?

Great video but I'm sorry both... Portugal 😎👍
Your in Portugal? Can we come? 😂
@@ontheroadadventure No chance!!! If you take some of the heat, I will have less 🤣 However next time you visit you can camp in my garden, will take you out with my PT friends 😉
Fair enough! 😂
Nice tank bags but how do you refuel?
They have awesome magnetic clips, i can remove them, with one hand, so the bag is easy to disconnent at either end and lift it out the way to put the fuel in.
