He has already been trying to turn Smoke and Scorpion against Liu Kang, grooming them to join him when he makes his move. Shang Tsung offers him not only keeping his life, but riches and the best chance of defeating Liu Kang. Why wouldn’t he take that? It wasn’t sudden. He was always looking to do that. The only reason he regrets betraying Kuai Liang and Tomas is because he would’ve preferred turning them to his way of seeing things. He even offers to put things aside if they join him in intros set after the part 1 story. He does not care about his betrayal beyond the inconvenience of having to do it earlier than his ability to turn his people to his side.

The Bi-han that is nervous of becoming Saibot isn’t because of disgust of his ambition- it reads more like fear of the transformation. But just like he does when he becomes Saibot, if he only knew, he’d be on board. No one wants to make a change like that. The only thing Bi-han sees here is a perversion, a loss of humanity. A grotesque appearance, and frightening voice. He’s an abomination. But that doesn’t necessarily mean his disgust is about more than the transformation itself.

Kuai Liang is Scorpion & Bi-Han is Sub-Zero in this timeline. Tomas yes is their adoptive brother. Since Bi-Han was killed, he was turned into Noob Saibot, therefore remained that way. There are two Bi-Hans in the roster but with different identities

And I hoped that bi han in mk1 would be a character that isn’t an asshole or a mindless slave. Turns out he’s both of these things. I knew bi han is semi bad character from the start of mk but I disagree with making bi han feel “pure evil” I wanted him to feel like “huh he’s a bad character but I kinda understand why he chose to be like that”. Really hope that noob saibot will break out of being a slave and start being cold. Tbh the only mk that showed bi han fairly is mk9
So happy watched the story online I made the mistake of pre ordering the first part of the game imo this just wasn’t worth the other $60 for me though especially only 2 hours of gameplay… they charging us a full game for 2 hours of gameplay and characters we won’t see for months 🤦🏿♂️
