Congratulations on the new skidder. An becareful with it . Cause if it's anything like the 648 g3 we got if you choke it down an it dies you will not have any brakes. I've had a few pencil size terds in my pants cause ours choked down an rolled off the hill
Always loved logging in eastern Kentucky not exactly for sure where your from but I think i was further east around Harlan, and Leslie county like I mentioned before remembered running old 450 C JD and 350 C track loader having to make a cut out before loader could reach over stakes on old straight job.
I know y’all are busy, but this lazy chair wanna be logger would love to know more about how the Skidder grapple works. It seems like it can be twisted to align with the timber to be picked up, but then has some kind of “float” mode when pulling logs. Can it twist all the way around and if so how do the hydraulics connect? Some kind of wheel motor instead of cylinders? I am sure you could not power twist it with big timber in tow or it would just turn the skidder instead, like a dog’s tail wagging the dog.
It doesn’t look efficient running that big machine. I have a tractor with a logging winch and drag out some good size trees. Guess the skidder will go more places and haul more.

Hate your sick. I had Covid in early January. Ran through the whole family. The saws are holding up well. No complaints in any of them. Hope you get better soon

I had a 748 dual arch pretty much the same as this just a lil bigger. I loved it but was expensive when it broke lol

Its been a wet winter here too. Last week was awesome, Just under 70 degrees and dry. Rained all day today though

Nice machine. Put a set of bear claw chains on the front and it will go anywhere. They are worth every penny.

Yeah it twists all the way around. It just floats when you get trees in it.
