I’ve never seen Waitress, nor do I know the plot, but every single time I watch this I end up crying due to the pure raw emotion that this kid radiates.
Anyone know who that guy is? I have seen him in other things too and he has such a cool voice! I am in Oregon, I will probably never see a Broadway play but they look like a cool thing to do if ever in NYC.
I just love watching the cast react while he sings. I pick a different cast member on each play through (I know I’m not the only one who’s seen it more than once, now!)… So great that there’s more than one angle.
Same! I especially love watching the reaction of the cast member in blue scrubs. I was crying along with him in the sections when he got emotional. LOL
@@jeffquinz2118 TY for your 'special person' perspective! After repeatedly watching Adrian (bless him & lot's of love) I focused on the left hand side and missed the scrubs guy, but what a guy! Intensively sensitive and humble. Bless them all, wish I could have been there.
Watching the piano player look over with that look on her face never gets old. She wants to look at her music but keeps looking at him. Can't blame her. He is a very rare talent
The child sho enuf can saaaaang! But we can also take a moment and appreciate how AMAZING that band accompanied and amplified his heart wrenching performance! They sat in the pocket and let this child's talent shine in all it's perfection by simply allowing him to lead the pace!! Just a breathtaking performance all around!
While the official released video from Waitress' channel had better vocal capture, THIS is the one for me. You can see all the actors, band, audience...and just how captivatved by the emotional, soul and incredible talent this kid was showing. Definitely have not cried to this performance countless times, nope, there's onions in the room or something. * continues to cry *
How a child can emit that kind of raw emotion is mind boggling! He probably hasn’t experienced most of what the song demands but he does it anyway. I’m so happy for him that he’s going to Broadway camp. I’m sure we WILL see him on that stage again and probably on screen. And I love that high note he throws in at the end. I’m sure the idea is his vocal coach/mentor but he’s the one belting it out! Keep going Adrian, we’re rooting for you and your wonderful mom. PS His last name isn’t Mathews is Escalona. Adrian Mathew Escalona. 🇨🇦🇺🇸
I watch 3:45-3:55 on repeat just to watch each and every person's reaction to Adrian's high note. This is the only way I know the song since this is how I was introduced to it!!
idk what the Waitress is all about, but seeing this and hearing Adrian sing, makes me want to watch it. He's amazing, his delivery for each lines was perfect and so full of emotions. I got goosebumps whenever he does his perfect falsetto. The cast for sure did enjoyed his performance and was awed by how great of a broadway singer he is. I hope he gets to continue doing broadway shows if thats even possible coz he really can sing and live. my goodness. I had to rewatch this over and over again, and never gets tired of this one. Love seeing the reactions of the cast. tbh i even replayed the parts where the cast gets emotional. just so i can see all of their reactions. This is just perfect. The emotions was all there, he made people believed that he's really hvrt, and struggling in life coz you can feel it in this cover.
Just can't stop watching this video (and the other angle)!! So cool that all the professionals on stage are astounded at how Adrian squeezes out all the emotion and power out of this performance! Got to believe that someday he'll be on Broadway!! So cool that they gave him this opportunity, and he crushed it!!!
this angle is great...seeing the body language of the pro's only amplified the depth of his talent. It's not so rare to see talent at his age, but it is rare to see someone his age embrace a performance with what I can only describe as true and real experience. Like he's lived something that he's living when he sings this. And that kind of exquisite pain is usually reserved to older people.
How could anyone dislike this? He’s amazing!!! Soulful!!! Very soulful performance. What was I doing when I was his age? Argh. I barely have a voice. And yet, here he is, making his dreams come true…
Some of the casts are wiping their tears especially the male actors, can't hold their eyes tearing down, what a beautiful song and singer's take by just a child, like he's pregnant, lol.
There's a video with better sound quality out there, but this one captures EXACTLY what had happened in that room. INSANE performance being witnessed by people Adrian felt were his idols. And then he did THAT in front of THEM. You can pause this video at any moment just to see their reactions to his singing.
I’ve watched the original video from the waitress channel many many times but this has only just popped up, I always wished you could see more of the actors reactions so this is amazing
Anyone know who the guy doing the hype up was? Love he not only amped the audience up but he was in freaking tears and I'm so curious who that guy is. I LOVE this song and Adrian's cover but for years have been wondering who that hype dude is!

Great movie, great Broadway show.
This angle is the best. Take note of the guy that introduced him, it's like he is rooting so hard for him!!! Love to watch other perormer reactions!!

I love seeing the performance from this angle. I love seeing how in awe of him the little girl is at the end of the performance!
I love this angle it’s so cool seeing the entire casts reaction and even the band in the back the awe on their faces it’s great
Been years since I've seen this video and still gives me chills and tears that boys voice is so amazing!

It's not simple to say
Most days I don't recognize me
These shoes and this apron
That place and its patrons
Have taken more than I gave 'em
It's not easy to know
I'm not anything like I used to be
Although it's true
I was never attention sweet center
I still remember that girl
She's imperfect but she tries
She is good but she lies
She is hard on herself
She is broken and won't ask for help
She is messy but she's kind
She is lonely most of the time
She is all of this mixed up
And baked in a beautiful pie
She is gone but she used to be mine
It's not what I asked for
Sometimes life just slips in through a back door
And carves out a person
And makes you believe it's all true
And now I've got you
And you're not what I asked for
If I'm honest I know I would give it all back
For a chance to start over
And rewrite an ending or two
For the girl that I knew
Who be reckless just enough
Who can hurt but
Who learns how to toughen up when she's bruised
And gets used by a man who can't love
And then she'll get stuck and be scared
Of the life that's inside her
Growing stronger each day
'Til it finally reminds her
To fight just a little
To bring back the fire in her eyes
That's been gone but it used to be mine
Used to be mine
She is messy but she's kind
She is lonely most of the time
She is all of this mixed up and baked in a beautiful pie
She is gone but she used to be mine
Thank you
