Biggest thing is to relax. Kids are used to bad BP most of their lives, someone that throws strikes consistently is always a bonus for them. A lot of guys over think it and put to much pressure on themselves.

This is one of the most super baseball videos to understand the right way to offer BP to “help” your kids or players... maybe the most important video for experienced and inexperienced Coaches/Parents. “Try to mimic game timing for each age player”. Timing doesn’t mean ball speed. A front toss tip that helps me is I toss right handed, but step left-right landing on my right foot to quickly step back behind the “turned around” L-screen. Its opposite/un-natural stride but saves me from getting drilled from my high schooler. Great job explaining on this video, standing up and long arm motion to toss so batters have a visual timing to see the ball from 12-15ft is the right way. Parents & Coaches... To help understand what this video is about... Ask yourself why there is so many kids that can crush BP, but at the same time struggle hitting in the game. It’s because their BP help & timing is drastically different then game timing. And also pitching machines offer the worse game timing... there’s a reason MLB teams don’t use pitching machines during BP. Parents if you can’t throw and your kid is passionate about baseball or softball, “Help” your kids by learning how to front toss to them. Everyone needs help, including me :)

This is what exactly I tell other dads and head coaches that the best batting practice is with a picture on the mound mimicking actual pitching.

Good tips. Another is don’t rapid fire, give the poor kid a chance to reset into his real stance, I swear the no stride concept came from bad soft toss. Swing pullback, swing pullback, swing pullback etc
