There are two different ways to submit a Google Doc on Google Classroom. If it is a document that a teacher assigned, then there should be a blue “Turn In” button in the upper right-hand corner. If it is a document that you’ve already created in your Google Drive, then you can use the attach from your Google Drive option (Google Drive symbol on the assignment page).
@@thisenijayasinghe3443 this depends on what settings the teacher has chosen for the class. If the teacher has chosen to allow students to comment on the stream, then there is a rectangular box towards the top of the stream that says something to the effect of "Share something with the class". You can type your message in this box and then click on post. However, if the teacher has not allowed students to comment on the stream, you won't see it. Some teachers only allow students to make comments on posts that they've made or sometimes even not at all.

Hi, I was hoping to see an explanation for students on how to turn in google forms with the links attached, to the teachers when the assignments are to be handed in.
@@AhmadHassan-uk7ve photo files can be attached to assignments in the same way that any other file can be. If you open the assignment, there is an option to attach a file. Yes, you are able to schedule assignments. Instead of clicking on the blue “assign” button, click on the down arrow just to the right. Here you will find the option to “schedule” which allows you to choose a date and time for the assignment to be posted. 😊
Hi I know this is now an old post, but i am looking hard to find some information that you may be able to help with. As a student is there any way when on a live lesson with the teacher i can remove an annoying student from my view. Or a way just to see the teacher on their own without other students on screen?
I loved your introduction! I am a 1st grade teacher and have never done GC with students. I was wondering if you could do a more simple video with a more simple set up. Like 1 class with minimal assignments? or have you already done 1 and I am missing it? Thank you
Hi there, my son is in kindergarten and he is involved with Google classroom and his teacher has Google slides for them? I do not understand this exactly! I also do not understand how to submit work for this area. I have asked his teacher for guidance and it's like pulling teeth to get the help I desperately need. If there is any way you could advise me if appreciate that. ALSso, your video was so helpful and I just wanted to say thank you!
I’m happy to help. I’m working on more videos to help those experiencing mandatory e-learning. I’ve been teaching students online for the past 10 years. I remember the struggle moving from a brick and mortar classroom to online. 😊
Fantastic! Thank you! As we start the Covid homeschooling, I've included this link for parents and students in my classes to help them navigate our new way of teaching!
Okay, so I am not sure if things are very different here in Colombia, however, the screenshots are totally different. I am using google slides and inserting text boxes for the students to submit their answers. Then adding these to Google classroom as assignments. When the students get their assignments they have to ask for permission to edit the document. Once they edit the slide there is no place for them to submit the assignment. What am I and my students missing?
One reason why it might look different is because this video shows the student perspective. On the teacher's end it looks a little different. :) It sounds to me like the Google Slide file is being shared on the Google Classroom assignment as "Student Can View File". When you create an assignment and then attach a file like a Google Slide, you can choose for the students to be able to "View Only", "Edit", or "Make a Copy For Each Student". To do this, once you have attached the file to the assignment (and before posting) you will see a drop-down menu on the file you have attached to the assignment. Its default setting is "Student Can View File". However, if you click on it you will see there are two more options to choose from: "Students Can Edit File" or "Make A Copy For Each Student". If you want all students to be able to edit the same file, you'll choose the "Students Can Edit" option or if you want each student to have their own individual file to work on you will choose "Make a Copy".
Also, if your students don't see a "Turn In" option directly on the Google Slide file, they can simply go back to Google Classroom and hand it in from there. :)

Yes, Google Classroom works on Chrome. It does not, however, require a camera. Classroom is a delivery tool for tasks and assignments, it is not a program for video meetings. Other programs like Zoom or Google Meet are used for that. 😊
Hi. I'm a Teacher new to Google Classroom. I'm a little confused while watching your excellent video as to why your google classroom looks so much different to mine. By that I don't just mean the theme, I have played about with that but it looks so much more funkier and less formal like mine does. For example the fonts on your headers are more of a fun font with the purple colours where as mine are just formal text which are just grey. Also you have little picture in the headings on your topics like the Blue book or the red rucksack at the start of the Getting started heading. My layout on the teachers section is so much more formal looking and less pleasing on the eye mostly just grey and blue, seems more stripped back almost like yours is more of a newer polished up version but I only signed up today so would have thought my version was current. Many thanks for any help in advance. Steve
Hi Steve! The colour of the text in my headers is directly related to the theme I use in my Google Classroom. I create header images for my classes that help to colour-code the subjects. The pictures you see in my topics are emojis. For some, I created the topic using the Classroom app on my phone that gave me easy access to an emoji keyboard. When I use my desktop I can access those same emojis by clicking ctrl + cmd + space bar (I'm on a MAC so I'm not sure if it would be different for those using a PC).

Hi Cynthia :) There could be a few issues that would result in what you're seeing. Without seeing your end of Google Classroom, it would be difficult to guess though. A few trouble-shooting tips: make sure that you clicked on the "submit" or "turn in" button which can be found when you open the assignment. Mam I have doubt that if I post a assignment all members of our class and teacher watches that assignment .Is there any way that when I post a assignment only the teacher can watch that assignment if there is method please say me mam
No, you first have to login to google classroom using your school google account username and password. When you are on the google classroom dashboard there is a plus sign in the upper right-hand corner. When you click on that there is the option to join a class using a class code. That is where you would place it. 😊
Students should open and then complete the Google Form they were provided. Once they have submitted their answers on the form, they can mark the assignment as done on Google Classroom.
After my son completed his assignment (he filled in the answers on the attached document the teacher sent) i did not see a way to turn it in. On the right side of his assignment it has share and export. How does he save his completed form and then turn it in. I am so confused and not much help to him.
If the attached document was a Google Doc, then anything that is added to it is automatically saved. Depending on how the teacher attached the file, you may not see the "turn in" option in the corner. Instead, after the assignment is completed, go back to the assignment on Google Classroom. When you click on "view assignment" you'll see the option to turn it in. :)
If you make a comment on an assignment and the student has their settings to receive email notifications for comments, then the notification that is emailed provides a link back to the assignment the comment was made on.
Is there something in Google Classroom that you're not sure how to do and wasn't covered in the video today?

If a student is using a code to access the classroom, would that go in under password?
No, you first have to login to google classroom using your school google account username and password. When you are on the google classroom dashboard there is a plus sign in the upper right-hand corner. When you click on that there is the option to join a class using a class code. That is where you would place it. 😊
How do students submit a teacher created google form for students to fill in?
Students should open and then complete the Google Form they were provided. Once they have submitted their answers on the form, they can mark the assignment as done on Google Classroom.
I don’t understand why we have to watch this we already know bruh😐
After my son completed his assignment (he filled in the answers on the attached document the teacher sent) i did not see a way to turn it in. On the right side of his assignment it has share and export. How does he save his completed form and then turn it in. I am so confused and not much help to him.
If the attached document was a Google Doc, then anything that is added to it is automatically saved. Depending on how the teacher attached the file, you may not see the "turn in" option in the corner. Instead, after the assignment is completed, go back to the assignment on Google Classroom. When you click on "view assignment" you'll see the option to turn it in. :)

When I answer my student's comment, does classroom take him back to the original assignment?
If you make a comment on an assignment and the student has their settings to receive email notifications for comments, then the notification that is emailed provides a link back to the assignment the comment was made on.
