Hi Rabbit. I can't give advice on a particular case and I don't know who you mean by "we", but generally speaking class actions can be filed based on police misconduct. When a class action lawsuit is filed based on police misconduct I believe the city is usually named as a defendant and individual police officers are also often included as defendants.
In my opinion, Officers of the Court engaged in public defense should have the duty and obligation to file class actions on behalf of the disenfranchised, in one case the Homeless. We should have no homeless problem in an at-will employment State with equal protection of our at-will employment laws for unemployment compensation.
I have a class action lawsuit on time and wages that settled out of court I don't know why my attorney settled without my consent nevertheless I kept them as my attorney it's been over 2 years we settled out of court in September of 2001 still going to court on I don't know what I feel like my attorney is not presenting me correct he's made promises that he couldn't keep now he's asking for more information that the judge wants why is that if I said or we settled out of court for the amount why do they need more information I think my lawyer is just stringing me along don't trust him what should I do and the paperwork that I have says we settled out of court for $600,000 and I signed the settlement agreement which I am the one that filed this lawsuit with another employee that worked at the same company Court in July but I don't understand if the plaintiff agreed to the 600,000 a year and a half ago why haven't I seen one dime of it I don't know what trust fund this money went into or if there's even still Court going on please contact me cuz I'd be willing to fire my lawyer at any time if I feel he has did me wrong I guess they filed under the paga cold I could send you copies of those codes that they violated

Class action law suits get you a lot of paper work stressing you out and pays aternys lots of millions wile plaintive get all most nothing. more stress for plaintive leaving them off worse.
