Casey, You made a full grown man cry with this story. It absolutely spoke to my heart in every way. The last time I cried was 2 years ago when my 17 year old dog died. We are the same age and watched BIG and dreamed of being a big kid in a big city just like Tom. I finally achieved that dream last year by moving to Vancouver. I lived the life I dreamed of only to lose it because of a lack of effort to keep it. I let others depicts my life and let them make me weak costing me everything I worked so hard to achieve. You reminded me why I worked so hard in the first place. I let my life be taken by so much negative energy that it derailed me and my dreams. You made me realize what I'm capable of again. This movie alone made me realize that every obstacle that's been set before me was put there to test my strength as a person and to make me stronger in every way. I dont get it. Casey goes against just about every aspect of success we believe in. He didn't to exellent in school, go to college, get a degree, get a high paying desk job to pay off loans. Yet he lives a life that many strive to acheive. He exercises and is fit, hes productive, likable, socialable, rich, succesful. He meets awesome people, he is an awesome person. Casey really is something... And he certainly didn't need to know anything about Shakespeare. Im going to tell that tp my ELA teacher
Well, it doesn't happen in one day. He slowly build it, got a little lucky, but I can guarantee you that he also had failures in his lifetime. You just didn't get to see them.
Derek Y but something extremely important to remember.. no matter what path you choose, there will be insane and impossible struggles. Whether that's situational or due to mental or physical disability, everyone has struggles. Casey is just a great example of overcoming those struggles by dreaming and working your ass off. When you hear "anything is possible" as a child, you believe it. The difference between us and Casey, is that he still believes it.
It's because he is willing to take risks. If you look at most successful people they went for their dream instead of taking the safe route. But I'm sure for every positive story there are a thousand who ruined their life and lost everything. Those are the type of people who end up on Humans of NY.

i watched this video just after having the longest conversation with my mom about college in nyc. ever since I was little, that's where I've wanted to be. you see it in movies and tv shows and read about it in books - it's the city of dreams, it's where it's all happening. i'm obsessed - first true love !! the fact that you beat the odds and you did it and you're living your dreams is so inspiring to me - i get down on myself sometimes and feel like i can't move there and do what i wanna do, and then i listen to you talk and see you living there and i'm reassured that i can do it. thank you casey! you have no idea how much you inspire me everyday
Casey you're the most inspirational person I've ever seen. I dream about living in NYC since I was fourteen but I am from Europe and the situation is even harder. Everyone, especially my parents, has always told me that I'm not able to do that. When I hear those words I give them the biggest smile I can. I'm already happy about day I amount that and show them they were wrong. Everything is possible and you are the best example of that. Really, thank you for giving me everyday power to make my dream come true.

My aunt sailed to NYC from Dublin in the 1960s, after finally getting there she lived on bananas for a month in a shitty apartment, 45 Years later's shes still living in the city and loves it.
As a kid growing up in New Jersey I felt just as you did about this city. I have loved it, I have hated it, I have left it, but when I have needed it it has taken me in and fed me life. I may leave again some day but this will always be my city.

One of my favorite vlogs, Casey! For certain! I can relate... I left everything behind and moved to Chicago when I was 21 and it was transformative. I worked for a NYC-based IT firm on the 77th floor of WTC1 and spent alot of time in NYC and always thought I would go from Chicago to New York one day. (then I chased a really great girl back to my hometown and now I'm a single dad raising two great boys 7 and 9 y.o. who dig your vlogs as much as I do); Enough said, but this was one of my favs! anyone realize Casey and Roman's life are about the same? Casey had Owen with his ex, Roman had Noah with his ex. After they broke up, Casey immediately went to NYC. After his divorce, he immediately started his RUclips career. (if im not wrong) Casey had another kid with his current wife, Roman had another kid with his current girlfriend.

My true love will forever be New York as well. I just love that city.. Been there three times and it makes me so happy. Just walking the streets and just seeing the people and feeling the energy makes me so happy! I have a serious crunch illness with lots of pain, but for some reason just being in New York is like the best pain-relief!
iv always told my self that i am going to pack up save money and drive to oregon and make a living off of what ever life throws at me and helps me live and seeing that u went from a kid pushing another kid of your own in a stroller while u ride behind on a skate board is something amazing and proves anything can happen i love your vlogs and the videos and pictures u can cpture the way u do things on your won and like your unique style and way of doing thing couldnt me any more inspirational

It takes a lot of time to develop the entire app for another platform...

I moved here 2.5 years ago for all the same reasons and have gone through the exact same motions, and I am so so so glad to have done this journey. Casey, This vlog spoke directly to me. I've been fantasizing about moving to NYC for over two years now. I finally got the chance to visit in October of 2015 and my trip was amazing. Everything i hoped to see in NYC(give or take a hundred things) i got to see. I'm at that wall and i'm so ready to make the leap. Thanks for telling me this story. Thanks for being an inspiration.

Casey, that is an awesome story! I feel like now is an optimal time to tell a story of my own. A while ago I started feeling a strong urge to move to NYC. Ever since then I have been trying everything possible to get as much of the NYC lifestyle feel as possible, including watching RUclipsrs who live in NYC. That is when I found your channel Casey. I have been watching your movies since before you started vlogging. You have quickly become my favorite channel on RUclips. You have inspired me in countless ways as far as finding my way in life. I still plan on moving to NYC at some point in my life. I have just recently found something that I want to do for the rest of my life, and I am very passionate about. This is because of the advice I have taken from you and your stories. Thank you for what you do!!

I've been working my ass off trying to be the best student possible so I can attend Columbia and live in NYC. Like you, I am also an outsider, and NYC will be my home. Casey had Owen with his ex, Roman had Noah with his ex.
After they broke up, Casey immediately went to NYC.
After his divorce, he immediately started his RUclips career. (if im not wrong)
Casey had another kid with his current wife,
Roman had another kid with his current girlfriend.
And both are currently daily vloggers.

My true love will forever be New York as well. I just love that city.. Been there three times and it makes me so happy. Just walking the streets and just seeing the people and feeling the energy makes me so happy! I have a serious crunch illness with lots of pain, but for some reason just being in New York is like the best pain-relief!
iv always told my self that i am going to pack up save money and drive to oregon and make a living off of what ever life throws at me and helps me live and seeing that u went from a kid pushing another kid of your own in a stroller while u ride behind on a skate board is something amazing and proves anything can happen i love your vlogs and the videos and pictures u can cpture the way u do things on your won and like your unique style and way of doing thing couldnt me any more inspirational

+RonTheBartender using a reasonable amount of footage to help tell the story does fall under the Fair Use policy per RUclips guidelines. RUclips had a great website and video making it pretty clear what is and what isn't 'Fair Use'.
Michael Conkling Jr. Also, the footage is older, and Casey doesn't monetize his videos. I think that also plays into it.
