Reverend Mercalli 5 demo

When I first heard about this instrument, I've found out that there are very few videos of it on RUclips. So I've decided to make a short demo just to give you an idea of how this bass can sound in some mainstream musical styles.
The bass is recorded through EBS Microbass II preamp into RME Fireface 400 sound card. The only EQ is bass boost +9...10 dB @ 100 Hz. The tone knob on the bass is full open. Also, I've added some compression on mixing (around 3:1 ratio).

Great demo! I'm seriously considering getting Reverend but the problem here in the UK is getting hands-on experience of them - there's only one dealer in the UK and they don't carry the full range. The Decision, Mercalli and Dub King all look great - and I suspect that this is the most flexible of the bunch.

How'd you get that slap tone? That's the kind of tone I hear in my head but can never get it exactly right. Just the right amount of compression, not too bright, etc.

Alessandro Rossi I tried to avoid preamp coloration, so the speaker sim and tube sim were turned off

Teriffic playing dude! Great demo. Were you using any sort of effect? Compression perhaps?

Thank you! I used light software compression on final recorded track (probably Waves CLA-2A) with gain-reduction around 3db at peaks.

Nope, these are stock roundwounds that came with the bass.
