- Cyberpunk 2077 v 1.62 launched this week and broke my mods! Luke Ross is on holiday so if you don't want to wait to play in VR I got you covered with a step by step guide on how to roll back Cyberpunk to its previous version. You are a hero! I've been trying to figure out what went wrong with a game and tried everything when I realized the problem might have been caused by an update. I thought there was no way to do it when someone said the only way was by using previous beta. But this WORKED. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much man i appreciate it i was playing with a lot of fun and joy until patch 2.02 dropped my mods stopped working and then i found you and it worked(When you roll back Cyberpunk itself and open it if you own Phantom Liberty DLC it will say that phantom liberty is not downloaded if you get this message you need to make the same thing to Phantom Liberty it happened to me so i wanted to say)

The last hotfix patch completely broke my game, but your video helped me to solve my problem. The game is working right now with all my mods, thank you!
OK great. Yeah the last patch broke mine as well,. but after installing the latest version of Luke's mod and disabling the TweakXL and ArchiveXL mods, it works fine. only problem with that is that all the mods requiring those two mods are not working now.
@@drgregvr3368 Yes, unfortunately disabling TweakXL and ArchiveXL was no option for me, because I have a lot of mods using those two, so I rather stay with version 1.63 before the hotfix until the mods are updated.

Thank you brother for this tutorial! I had to clean up the cache folder as it was getting to large of a mess and verified the game but steam forced 2077 to update, which I haven't updated since 2.1 as a lot of the mods I use are not up to date for 2.12, just been launching the game directly from the directory HA but the reroll worked! Thank you! Plan to get Phantom Liberty then just throw the 2.1 files back XD

@@neoavenir I had to drop my resolution down a bit for the big spider tank boss at the beginning. It’s so intense! PL is just over the freaking top good! Everything from the base game in steroids! 😂

Also,. Leave all your mods enabled before you roll back the game. They should be in working order once rolled back. Then, don’t put anymore mods on! Haha! I made that mistake and it rE broke the VR mod and now I can’t get it to work at all! Worked perfect the night before.

Yeah I don't see overdrive mod working in VR. We can barely get ray tracing working in VR and really it hits performance so hard it isn't worth it. I don't think that path tracing is compatible with VR anyway. Just like DLSS 3.

Yeah it broke all the mods. The VR mod is going to take quite some time for him to fix. He basically has to start from square one. I think if you have issues with this, if you go into the betas section of the steam library you can revert back to ver 1.63

Trying this now as 2.1 release today has bombed all my mods and made my game believe all it's scripts are corrupt. Since Phantom Liberty is out must I do this a second time for the dlc or something? Or will this be a one size fits all kind of deal?

I will say this video has been very needed as it seems cd broke the judy romance mission with the new update by placing a literally death zone over the lake proventing the mission being played

@drgregvr3368 yeah this is apparently happening on PlayStation too so wasn't a mod issue but reads like the they added a death zone to prevent people going there before the quest but didn't add a toggle so it turns off when you do the mission. Honestly check it out you can have the issue without the quest

how long does the download take? im trying this with AC4 because ubisoft BROKE THE FULL SCREEN OPTION!! but thanks for making this video it has helped so much people through hard times you need more subs
Thanks! Download times vary depending on A lot of variables. I know cyberpunk took quite a while for me. At least 30 minutes or so? Give or take 10 minutes.

@@drgregvr3368 idk actually, ive played through the game a couple of times and still love it. Now, i would like to see if i can play it again with 1.0. (If i make it through the title screen that is.) And see how the game has changed. Apart from the bugfixes.
can confirm this worked after the recent update broke all my mods
I did find that if I disabled TweakXL and ArchiveXL, this last eat patch does work with the latest version of the mod. But of course any mods that use those two won’t work.
man thank you I Really wnt to play 1.0 for the bugs. The story wasnt great IMO but the bugs made the game a fun experience for me

@@drgregvr3368 I’m sorry I’m so stupid, I installed some radio mod I didn’t even see in my load order, it completly broke everything and was stuck somewhere in my files. My game and mods work fine on 2.1.

that I don't know. might have to just redo it. it takes quite a while to download though so might check back in an hour and see if it worked.

hello, what do i do if steam is installed in the wrong portion? not enough storage. Should i deinstall steam and reinstall so it moves to E or D instead of C ?
Well that might work. I don't know I have games directed to download to which ever drive in Steam. So for example I have the option to have games download on my C drive,. but I usually install them on my D drive so that is where these files downloaded. Maybe it downloads to the last drive you installed a game on? I'm just speculating here because that is what happened to me. I have Cyberpunk installed on the C drive but these files went to D.

I’m loving what they’ve done so far! Vehicle combat is a blast and yes the police chases!
Then you never played cyberpunk, they took the armor out the clothing the ability to level up your skills elder scrolls style, they lineared the game to a bootleg dead island wannabe
@@MarCoViTV I have over 500 hours in Cyberpunk. Yeah no armor in clothing, it's in the cyberware now,. and the new skill trees and perk systems and combat is a freaking blast.
Where can you find the cyberpunk install directory?
it's the folder that the game is installed in. not sure where you have it but something like c>Steamlibrary> Steam apps> common> cyberpunk

Cyberpunk keeps freezing, I thought rolling back would help but the issue persists. I tried literally everything, this game just does not want to be played despite having 50+ hours
hmmm,.. make sure your GPU drivers are up to date, make sure you have the latest version of the mod. You shouldn't need to roll the game back now. I would recommend doing a fresh install of the game as well if you are still having issues. You're progress will not be lost.
how do I fix if " error downloading manifest" shows up?
Probably just have to try it again. Although I will say that Luke’s mod is updated to work with 2.1 now for VR and I just updated all my other mods and only had one mod with issues.

How do you direct where the depot downloads? Steam console decided to start downloading the depot to my main harddrive instead of my game drive and started bloating it up till it almost exploded, haha. Saved it within 175mb. Trying to roll back from 2.01 to 2.0
I honestly don’t know. I have cyberpunk on my main drive.
@@drgregvr3368 Well, if there's any kind of solution you can think of later, feel free to let me know. I'd just transfer the files as they appear, but because I have no real way to pause or manage the depot download, I can't really do that. By the time I copy and then delete the files that have been downloaded, double will have been downloaded and I won't be able to keep up. That and I would have to do that for who-knows-how-long.

really hoping you can help in my case, im trying to get the game down to the very first update but moving the files over just makes the game open up with a picture when i click play on steam. when i go into the 1019 file and look at the application icon, it is indeed opening up to just a picture and not an actual app.

There is a box to check in the steam library that at least stops updating till you launch the game,.. I don’t know if you can opt out of the update after launching though.

Don’t know what to tell you. The files may have changed a bit since I did this vid though so you may want to check the dates of the file you’re downloading.

Files may have changed since the vid was up,. But at any rate the newest version of the mod works with the latest version of the game now. Just streamed it last night.
It has not been useful to me, it gives me a file error every time I try to do the console thing, it does not download it in the background. the mistake is :CAPIJobRequestUserStats - Server response failed 2

I have to revert back to 2.0 because I can't even launch the game anymore in the new patch. I don't even use mods I just want to play the game. So dumb.
Yeah same thing happened to me. I was at level 37 with my current build, but as soon as I would try to launch it from that save it would crash. Even the auto saves. When I went back to an earlier manual save at level 23, it launches no problem. So what m playing catch up. Fortunately I really love playing this game so it’s not that horrible.
Won't Steam try to update the game again? And how I turn back to default, just reinstalling the game?
there is a box you can check in your steam library settings that will keep it from doing that.
Excellent video; very helpful! To my curiousity, though, would I simply validate the game files once more and disable my mods to cause a Steam update to the most recent once the 1.63 Hotfix Mods are updated? Or do I need to repeat this process in order to install the 1.63 Hotfix?
When I rolled it back when I launched this video,. All my old mods were working perfectly. I’m still having some issues with ArchiveXL and TweakXL with the current patch. But no you shouldn’t have to repeat after the hot fix as long as Luke’s mod is working.

Weird question but is there a way you know of to reassign what drive the previous version downloads to in the console? I'm not able to get it downloaded because I have my NVME drive partitioned to where the C:/ drive is mostly just my boot drive and essential programs and the other partition is for games storage, etc.
Well I’m thinking that it downloads to whatever the last drive you downloaded to from steam if that make me sense. I have CP installed on my C drive but most games I download to my d drive and that’s where this downloaded the previous game files.
@@drgregvr3368 school of thought definitely makes sense but I don't have anything from Steam downloaded onto my C drive so I'm not sure if it's paying that much attention to where you download or just going with the default (visual studio does this too so I had to switch around the partition space to make this work previously). I have a 4TB SSD, so I'll probably just clone everything over and make C one 2TB drive instead but what a pain to move everything over lol wish Luke wasn't on vacay, guy deserves a break though. can anyone give me pointers? i tried downgrading my AC Odyssey back to 1.53 version (current is 1.56) but the location to download the manifest is in C, but it's full. how to move the manifest download destination to D?

There is a box in the stream library options of your game that you can check to make sure it doesn’t auto update

does this mean you can go back to launch version of the game when the map ui was more understandable most of the gigs and side completion tasks dont even show up anymore i just started again after not playing since launch had an almost full 100% speedrun pathed. Got probs 70-80% of it done now imma have to redo it all smh :(
I suppose you could do that,. But I’m playing with the most current version of the game now and all the stolid shows up fine on the map as long as you have them all checked on the left hand side of the map. If you are playing in VR,. Make sure the 3D map is disabled. You can’t see any of the menu options when that is on.

So it doesn’t give you the location where it was supposed to be saving? Try following the path that it should be at, should be pretty much the same as mine,. Maybe a different drive. It may actually be there. If not,. I guess try again?

Yeah it’s just on steam. After doing this check the box in your steam settings that you don’t want automatic updates.

I did the download and it just gave me an archive folder.
I think all the stuff you need is in that folder? It’s been ages since I’ve done this but you may need to check and make sure you have the right files as well. Like I said this was a while ago and the files may have changed.

@@drgregvr3368 it still ended up not working though. It downloaded right, but when I tried to load it said it was missing something then wouldn’t let me do anything else. I’ve given up on cyberpunk on pc, I’ll wait for the updates and for now play on console. Thank you for your help though.

Honestly probably 1.62, only because of the text box issue. Not sure when or if Luke will fix it.
@@drgregvr3368 aer2.0 feel smoother, but it is still so blurry in cp2077 and cant play， googled a while, and someone said it need to be optimised like disable taa and configuring other stuff to make it work. I'm having a problem. I followed the instructions to download depot, but something failed because of storage issues. So, I had to clear up some room and I try again, and it just freezes up. I don't know what to do.
It takes quite a while to download it’s like. 62 gif file or something like that. But you shouldn’t need to do that anymore anyway. Luke released a version of the mod that works with the current game

Followed to Roll Back and installed REAL_mod_by_LukeRoss_v9_6_2. Run the SteamVR , and run Steam Cyberpunk secondly, my game screen displays on my monitor but not displays in my vive headset. Does someone know how to fix it?
Are your GPU drivers up to date? I’m not sure if the headset might be an issue? I’ve never tried this game with a vive.
@@drgregvr3368 Just solve my problem, I didn't download the depot with the correct version correctly. After downgrade to 1.61 version and REAL_mod_by_LukeRoss_v9_6_2, the game screen displays in my vive headset correctly. Even dont need to run steamVR first, just run the game itself should be fine.

Depends on how fast your internet/steam servers are allowing it to download. I don’t think it took me more than an hour
2.0 completely destroyed my game on PlayStation but I saved before it on 1.63 to the cloud . If I just bought cyberpunk after 2.0 on steam would I be able to revert to 1.63?
I believe so. I figure a lot of people are going to want to do this to play in VR since it’s going to be quite a while before Luke can hopefully get the mod working again.

Yeah that’s what it’s for is the base game. However if you have the updated Luke Ross mod, all the other kids are also updated so no reason to roll it back

Oof,. I mean it may work ok with legacy AER,. You’ll have to really drop the resolution though. I did over 300 hours on a 2080 super. I really don’t think you would want to go much lower than that with this game

You would have to figure out what date that released and look for the big file that corresponded.

Yea the files you replace are not the mod files. Warning though. Do not add any more mods afterwards. I added 3 mods the next day and it broke it hopelessly and rollback won’t even fix it.

@@Dracco023 yeah that’s why it needs to be rolled back. Hopefully Luke gets back from his vacation soon so he can fix the mod so it will work again with the current version of the game.

@@frzlrd must have changed it then. Sorry. It’s been forever. Most people don’t have an issue with the first method though. Make sure you disable auto updates in Steam. Other than that don’t know what to tell you.
Trying this step as a last resort new patch broke everything for me and the game wouldnt launch and i damn near tried evertything.
It worked but once you put mods back in same problem again...
Yeah man that happened to me. I played all night and all my mods were working,. but the next day I added in a couple of mods and now it won't work. so I'm guessing I'll have to just unistall mods which I don't want to do because after playing will all these added features from the mods, the vanilla game feels so empty.

Well the files may have changed on the steam DB. But you shouldn’t need this anymore anyway. Luke updated the mod so you can just get the latest version and it works

hey, i keep getting this error in the console after an hour or two of the update: Depot download failed : error writing chunk for "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\content\app_1091500\depot_1091501\archive\pc\content\basegame_3_nightcity_terrain.archive"
Wish I knew what to tell you there. Hopefully someone else here will see this and have an answer.

Hi mate very informative! one question, how do you play the downgraded version of the game without steam asking you to update it? can we only play the game offline then?
Yeah there is a box to check to keep it from updating in the steam library settings.

Yeah it’s like a 64 gig file and you are kind of restricted to how much bandwidth Steam is allowing.

Probably not. It mean you could try but I would think it would have to be the same version as the game everyone else is playing.

how do you play cyberpunk vr with mods? i tried installing cyber engine tweaks and it wouldn't work and someone told me you can only get it to work with 1.62
Yeah you need Luke Ross’s REAL mod ruclips.net/video/0MCgMRfGiQw/видео.html and it’s not working with 1.62 right now. You need 1.61. Luke will fix the mod right away when he is back from vacation but I don’t know how long that will be.
