  • In truly remarkable condition, this is the first ever production model Music Man Stingray Bass, made by Leo Fender. It was presented to Forrest White in 1976 and has the serial number B001000.
The bass has the most beautiful Ash body with a stunning highly figured maple neck. This bass shows barely any use, and because of this, it shows virtually no wear.
A serious collector's bass - here's your chance to own a true piece of rock n roll history.
Available to view and purchase at Andy Baxter Bass & Guitars Ltd, London.
All footage and music used in this video is our own. The bass played in the audio is the actual 1st Production Model Music Man Stringray bass.

It sounds exactly like the OLP I had a custom made Alnico 5 with long magnets wound to 4.5K with a homemade Stingray preamp I made from scratch. I nailed the sound

I have a 76, 77 and an 80. Something about these instruments that is really different to the newer ones. Beautiful instruments.

I’m very confused by the later era looking bridge. Like it’s a “Classic Series” & not the beefier (more current G&L looking) type pre- Ernie Ball bridge.

Didn’t the first models have black plastic control knobs?

Yeah, think it’s a bit of a stretch to say this is a first run. All radio knob stingrays were made in 1976, but not all stingrays made in 1976 had radio knobs…. The body shape also changed slightly for non radio knob basses. This video also doesn’t mention if the pickup has the longer pole pieces
