    After learning more about the performance and size of the Pirelli Scorpion Rally Str, I decided to install it on my beloved Suzuki V-Strom 650XT. Thank you for the wonderful video. A message of gratitude from an ordinary Japanese rider.

    I agree with your judgment. I just put these tires through an 1,800 mile off-road and tarmac mountain journey, experiencing every surface imaginable (except snow:) on my Triumph Tiger 800. They met all the challenges I faced without a moment of insecurity. Excellent tires!

      Amazing set of tyres indeed! And how's the tread depth now? How much life are you expecting out of them?

  • @tims964
    @tims964 4 года назад +2

    Thanks for your review, well done! I am using the same tyres and also like them a lot. One minor addition: these tyres are available in a wider range of sizes (e.g. 21" front), at least in Europe.

    Did you get any punctures on STRs? Also, did you try any other dual-purpose tyres to compare with?

    • @MentlManja
      @MentlManja  3 года назад +1

      I had one Puncture on my second set.
      I haven't tried another dual purpose tyre yet. For me, road performance is quite important. Since I was happy with my first set of scorpions, I ended up choosing the same as my second set on the ride.
      Heading out on another journey in a couple of months. Will be trying a different set then.

    Please share the front and rear tyre pressure which you prefer to run in and what is the company's recommended pressure. Thanks in advance

    • @MentlManja
      @MentlManja  3 года назад +1

      I ran the pressure that I've always used on my Duke - 29 PSI for the front and 33 PSI for the rear. I have to admit that I have not tested tyre performance and tyre life in relation to Tyre pressure and weight on the bike. The pressure I'd set worked fine for me and I stuck with it.
      Pirelli doesn't list a pressure rating for them on their own website. But I read in a blog that Pirelli recommends referring to the owners manual of the motorcycle for the right tyre pressure.
      And you air down a little when you're on riding off road.

      Hey, I'm glad you found the video helpful. Yes, the Scorpion is an excellent tyre. But, I have little knowledge about the Road 4. Hence cant't add more value. Do keep in mind that the scorpions can become an expensive purchase if you do not venture off road frequently.

    How quiet are these on the road at speeds between 35 and 55 mph? Do they get noisier as they get older? How do they compare to Continental TCK70?

    • @MentlManja
      @MentlManja  4 года назад

      I've used them for a total of 21000 km (2 sets) till now and I haven't ever felt that they were noisy at lower (or higher) speeds. Loved that about them.
      I haven't gotten the chance to use the contis though :/
