Working to become a full time car photographer has been no small feat. It has been an incredible journey and one led and fuelled with passion. If you want to become a car photographer getting new opportunities to work with great cars or large brands then maybe my story can be an inspiration to you! This month I got to travel all of Canada with Subaru Canada and teach them all about car photography and how to use social media to build their brand. It was an incredible opportunity and one that took many years to get to this moment. I share some of the struggles I have to persevere to get here and where the successes come from as well.
Share your journey and story with me in the comments section, I'd love to hear from you and maybe even answer some of your questions in future videos.

It's pretty hard to get known. I think the hardest part is creating content frequently when you have a job or studies to manage. I take pictures of crazy cars, I'm not going to complain about that. But getting paid for what you do is pretty rewarding, even if it's not much, that's my goal. Thanks for your videos and guys remember shoot all cars as if there were ferrari's
I totally agree. Consistency is absolutely the hardest, and quality consistently is the hardest bit. Takes a long time to get where you want to be unless something catches on social and trends but that’s why you just gotta do something your passionate about. Doesn’t feel like I work all that hard cuz I love what I do.
Amazing video. Awesome to see how far you've gotten. Big inspiration. I continue to look forward to your videos. I just recently started my new career mixed with my passion as well. Doing automotive photography for a dealership. Thanks for all that you do!
Keep it coming, love what you'r doing!
Congratulations!!! 🎉 Big fan 🥂 thank you for your help and learning lessons!!!
B roll is out of this world. Love this vlog and storytelling. So well said bringing amateurs to commercial level quality I think your knowledge sharing has been my favorite part of this community. Excited for the future of your brand man good luck!
You're a legend mate!
Thanks man ! your video was great motivation !
Damn man, you're words are incredible like the way you talk, engage, everything just make sense man. I'm learning a lot from you man thank you and I'm glad I saw your contents! Wish you more success ahead of you!
Congratulations brother! Awesome to see your hard work and passion turn into something full time with a brand like Subaru. I enjoy your content and I’m trying to learn as I go (I have a detail shop where I make posts on the different vehicles we have there) your videos have been a huge help. God bless!
Hey! Thanks for the kind words my friend, it's much appreciated =) I'm stoked to hear that my content has been able to help you and hopefully in the long run help grow your business, that's what it's all about 👊🏼 Bless up! 🙌🏼
This video motivated me so much! Thank you, man!
Love the way you present such an amazing journey. I recently got let go from my full time job and I definitely needed to watch this. I am also pursing my passion for capturing and filming cars since getting laid off. While the stress of not having something financially stable yet is worrisome, I am enjoying every ups and downs that comes with investing in your passion as a career. Thank you so much for sharing tips and tricks, I know they helped me tremendously and a whole lot of individuals In similar positions too.
Like I said mate, it's been a grind... not been easy and sometimes working multiple jobs all at the same time. But passion does make it feel easier when you're enjoying what you do, shooting fun cars late at night after a full day of working another job, it can actually be a peaceful place to be, and knowing its an investment in my future also helps. I hope you find your feet and are able to get some steady work that you enjoy. Keep seeking that thing that brings you joy.
Just found your channel. Really liking the content.
Always bringing great content and value to the community. thanks for sharing your knowledge and experiences with us. I didn't know you worked in a dealership taking photos before, we all start from somewhere. I Like the shoot the Corolla as a Ferrari great tip 😎 If you ever come to London let me know 👍
Ya it's been quite the journey to get to where I am today. Very grateful for the community that has been here to support me along the journey so thank YOU!
Wow that is great information. I'm really working on getting my name out to the dealership
Stoked for you buddy happy to see your success now with Subaru !!! 👊🏻
Thanks my friend! It’s been such a good month with them. Got lots of respect for the people I got to do work with.
You're literally the Peter McKinnon of Car Photography.
His story was working at a camera store.
Your story was working at a dealership.
He started taking pictures using the shops gear/equipment.
You started taking pictures using the dealers gear/equipment.
He started using the skills to start his own thing.
You started using your skills to start your own thing.
He started RUclips - exploded 💣
You started - skies the limit 🚀
I only stumbled on your channel this week but have been watching everything you've posted and it reminds me of when Peter McKinnon started, there's something special here.
Just your character, the willingness to teach and the content you provide - I cant wait to see what you do you next 🔥
(Old video but wanted to at least comment something)
Interesting perspective! I’ve been watching Peter for years and I agree there are definitely parts of our story that are similar. I remember watching some of his earlier videos and feeling like “hey that’s just like me”. Obviously growing to his level would be amazing but I’m enjoying the process. Grateful for your intentional comments as well man. Means a lot. 🙌🏼
Thank you for the video! Currently in the struggle phase. Not quite having enough cars or enough time to shoot 😅 I’m pushing through tho. And you liked a post of mine before so that definitely inspired me to continue going! 🔥
Hey man! Just wanna thank you for the tips/tutorial you put out. I'm a student, currently doing my intership in Honda Dealership, I started to make them some social media post templates and all which they liked, I enjoy watching your videos and always wanna try it out myself, I finally got the go signal from the dealership. I'll shoot my very first car video today (using my phone) hopefully they will like it.
Please, If you can make a video about how to use social media, basically how you taught the people in subaru on marketing.
I'm just getting into car photography as a hobbie, did my first "session" out of the blue after finishing a Fashion Editorial in a park. After taking my stuff back at the parking, I notice 2 cars , A chevette and a Puma, didn't hesitate to offer some photos. The photos didnt came out as my high expectations but the owners loved it. Gonna push a little further to see where I can go. And loving your work keep it up!
I love those moments! Hopefully you keep it up with the car photography. It's such a fun niche of photography. Thanks for watching and hope to see you in some other videos in the future =)
Really enjoy how passionate you are! Wish I could meet to take pic and learn but im in uk
Maybe one day!
Invaluable insights on the car photography journey! For those who transitioned from hobbyist to pro, how crucial is post-processing in defining your unique style? Eager to know!
I just left a 3 year job working full time for a dealership group, trying to make freelance work for me. I outgrew the stock photos and need to move further and faster with my career. Thank you for the inspiration!
Really wish our dealer in Newfoundland got in on this!
You da man keep up the good work!
Appreciate you mate! 👊🏼
Gained a sub! I’m just starting out myself ! I’ve only got one video out but it’s not that great ! I’ve got a a7siii but I’m still getting to grips with it all ! Look forward to more videos from you
Hey! So glad that you found my channel and excited that you subbed! Means a ton and hopefully you'll find some value in what I post in the future! See you around =)
Hey thanks for the tips and motivation, I hope you will make more photography videos like you used to do!

@@TheCarCreative always brother!

Thanks for watching! Hopefully something you can relate to or get inspired by. 👊🏼
@@TheCarCreative yeah 100%
come to Italy🇮🇹 awesome vid !
Consistency is something that is hard to maintain but I'd always prioritize quality over output
those tips are so nice
Hi, what do you think of the Lumix s5ii overall? About the autofocus for sport photography (panning shot/rolling shot)
I own a Lumix G7, I feel the need to move on and get a Full Frame and I mainly do Automotive photography like you, I love your content and mood! I would like to know what was your feeling about the Lumix S5ii and why didn't you take a Sony a7iii/iv like everyone else ?
Thanks 😊
just found your channel. Loving your work! My passion for cars.. I dunno if I've just always had it but I've collected matchbox cars for years. Probably because I couldn't afford to collect real cars... have always been into photography also, it's such a broad field and hard to find the right niche- it never occured to me to bring those two passions together! And honestly, I am not out to be famous or make money, but if I can make my sh!tbox look good- that's a win! p.s. come to New Zealand, some pretty awesome locations....!
That was incredible 👏
🙌🏼 Cheers!!
My goal honestly isn’t even to get paid for it. I simply love shooting cars and getting that perfect picture is just so rewarding. My goal is to have the networking to be able to get those special cars and take them to special places for those pictures
You've come so far, but I feel like this is just the beginning, just the tip of the iceberg!
Thanks Davey! Let’s see where this crazy journey takes me. 🕺🏻
teşekkürler 🙏
Sometimes that passion for car photography don´t lead to shxt. No matter how hard you struggle. But you create hope. Think that is the key.
Passion combined with action, that would be hard to stop.
I have similar theory. I shoot my Ford Focus 2018 like it is some special sport car. Thank you for your valuable content.
Shoot whatever you can and grow! Thanks for watching my friend!
I literally wanna be you in the future
I will be keeping this in mind "treating a corolla same as a ferrari"
Wise words man ❤
Haha, just be the best version of you brother. Maybe I’ll want to be you some day. 👊🏼
Come to Miami 🙌🏽
I am from Vancouver really wanted to do the meetup but didn't know you are coming :(
Sorry brother! It was a crazy week in Vancouver, no meet ups there.
@@TheCarCreative Hopefully next time. Thanks for sharing your Story.
3:48 song ?
Who did your captions? Lots of things don't match what you said lol
Thanks for the heads up! I threw it into CapCut to see if it would help with retention. 🤷🏻♂️
I think you gotta broaden your photography
What do you mean?
@@TheCarCreative like do more then car related photography ik you have tutorials and such but just other things as well
Good god all the yapping
