Drawing on Wood Slice With Prismacolor Pencils? Does it work?

Welcome back, this week I'm attempting to create art on wood! I've seen a lot of other people working on wood slices with different mediums including acrylics, watercolors and pencils.
In this video I test using both watercolor and prismacolor pencils directly onto wood slices.
